Love Confession

A series of high pitch screams could be heard as a black car suddenly crashed into the wall where Bai Ruoxi had previously stood. Although the car didn't manage to hurt a single hair strand on their body, those girls were still greatly shocked and some started crying.

"You.. you! Xu Ruoxi, you're despicable! Did you plan to kill us?!"

Bai Ruoxi was dumbfounded. Did that woman seriously just blame her? Why would Bai Ruoxi do something as dangerous as this when she could've been harmed as well?

Smoke was coming out of the engine. Some people were shouting to call an ambulance but none went to help the driver. The girls who now looked like an absolute mess were still staring daggers at her and Bai Ruoxi didn't miss a suspicious glint that was on Gu Xing eyes.

Bai Ruoxi frowned and immediately turned around to check her surrounding for further future dangers. Was it a pure accident or could it be that Gu Xing was really after her? It might also possibly be someone who hated her family. She's the Bai Young Miss after all. Bai Ruoxi used to experience this kind of things quite frequently when she was still her spoiled young self.

But it had been quite sometimes since Bai Ruoxi last stepped out of her house and when she did, it was only to attend her classes. Not to mention she's always covered in makeup. If someone's truly targeting her, they must have planned it for quite some times.

And if it was Gu Xing...

A murderous glint passed through Bai Ruoxi's eyes, sending shivers down the spine of everybody who was near her.

Bai Ruoxi had never liked Gu Yin's younger step-sister. Ever since they were young, Gu Xing had always wanted to compete with her stepbrother in all various aspects. And if she couldn't have it, she would snatch it with all her means.

Shivering in disgust, Bai Ruoxi hurriedly strode into the building the seminar took place.

Meanwhile, paramedics were telling people not to stay too close as they went to the driver seat of the crashed car. The dark shade of the glass prevented them from taking a look at the driver's condition. They planned to break down the windows but to their surprise, the door wasn't locked.

"Eh.. there's.. there's nobody in here!"

"Impossible! How could it be?!"

The crowd started to swarm around the car to have a better look, and to their disbelief, there really was nobody in there. It might be a self-driving car, possibly being controlled by someone who was near.

But who, they did not know.

Bai Ruoxi was already sitting in the crowded hall and sighing in relief when she realized Professor Ye was late as well. Bai Ruoxi had no idea about the car being driverless nor having the chance to notice the gaze full of hatred somebody was giving her.

She took out her notebook and a pen, all prepared to write down Professor Ye's golden words. But after fifteen minutes of waiting, her professor had still yet to come. Bai Ruoxi took out her phone and checked her schedule, making sure that she didn't come on the wrong date. "It's the right day... That's weird, Professor Ye is always on time."

She then decided to wait for a while longer, if Professor Ye still didn't show up, she would go home. After all, that accident had just occurred right in front of Imperial City University's gate, some reporters might flock around for some news. It would be best to avoid getting recognized.

Bai Ruoxi sighed and leaned her back on her seat.

It had been three years, two months, and eleven days since that horrifying night.

She closed her eyes, fighting the urge to let her tears flow. Her heart was beating slowly as it ached to her loss.

Bai Ruoxi knew that she couldn't keep on being a coward and hid behind her bedroom door. She had to face the reality that Gu Yin was no longer around, and if possible, find somebody new. Not to replace him, but to create another memory she could cherish. No matter how hurtful it was for her to remember him, she would never forget Gu Yin.

Another fifteen minutes passed. Bai Ruoxi realized that most students had also left the hall since Professor Ye clearly wasn't showing up anymore. It had been one hour since the scheduled time, the seminar was probably canceled without prior notification.

Bai Ruoxi put her belongings back into her bag and was about to leave when she heard another annoying shriek. She turned around to find Gu Xing slightly panting as though she had just run quite a distance just to meet Bai Ruoxi.

"What do you want?"

Gu Xing noticed the disdain in her voice, but she didn't mind. "Sister Ruoxi, can my brother and I go to your house?"

Bai Ruoxi raised a brow and stared at her as if she had grown another head. "No."

When Gu Xing mentioned her brother, Bai Ruoxi's mind automatically assumed it was Gu Yin. But then she immediately remembered that Gu Xing had a biological brother, Gu Wei who was now the legal heir of Gu Corporate.

Bai Ruoxi clenched her fist tightly, trying to subdue her anger.

That position originally belonged to Gu Yin. But after his passing, it naturally fell onto Gu Wei's hand. Sometimes Bai Ruoxi couldn't help but think about the possibility of Gu Wei being related to Gu Yin's death. She had indeed investigated this matter, but it came out clean. However, Bai Ruoxi still had her suspicions.

And suddenly, another matter hit her. This Gu Xing had actually figured out she wasn't Xu Ruoxi, but Bai Ruoxi. She was confident in her makeup skills, yet this woman...

'Or it could be that my makeup skill actually sucks and I have been overconfident before.' Bai Ruoxi thought to herself. But a moment later, she shrugged it off. 'Nah, my makeup skill is top notch alright.'

After hearing Bai Ruoxi spontaneous rejection, Gu Xing eyes were swelled with tears. She started to sob, making it looked like Bai Ruoxi had just rejected her love confession.

Some students who were on their way suddenly stopped their track to join the commotion. They started whispering among themselves and accused Bai Ruoxi of bullying Gu Xing.

The latter smirked inwardly. Now Bai Ruoxi couldn't escape and would be forced to console her. Gu Xing would then take the chance and make Bai Ruoxi agree to her request.

What a perfect plan!
