Asylum

When both of them heard what Bai Ruoxi had said, one was trying his hardest not to laugh while the other was shocked stiff.

"But Young Miss, Miss Peng Xinya..."

"What about her, Liu Jiahao?"

Hearing the obvious disdain and contempt in her voice, Liu Jiahao silently gulped his saliva and shook his head. He was still a little perplexed by Bai Ruoxi's decision, nevertheless, he decided to do as she said. He then gave Bai Ruoxi a slight bow before half ran away.

When the man was out of sight, Ming Lu burst out a laugh.

Bai Ruoxi turned to him and raised a brow. Why was this dog laughing? There's nothing funny.

Ming Lu continued to laugh and wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes. After a while, he finally calmed down and looked at Bai Ruoxi with interest. "Aren't you afraid that she might die?"

"Isn't that what she wanted." Bai Ruoxi shrugged, "Might as well respect her decision."

Ming Lu rested his chin on his palm and tilted his head, imitating Bai Ruoxi. "What if she died?"

"Oh, she will." A malicious glint passed through her eyes. "No one will leave unscathed after crossing us."

Ming Lu responded with a thin smile. A conflicted feeling quietly crept into him.

Sensing the sudden awkwardness between them, Bai Ruoxi stood up and glanced towards the room which was crowded by maids. She cocked her head towards it, "Let's go."

After the servants noticed Bai Ruoxi walking towards them, they quickly greeted her and dispersed, leaving only one man to watch over the door.

On the other side of it, Xu Linlang was screaming and pounding on the door. When she spotted Bai Ruoxi through the peephole, she yelled louder and started to hurl ear piercing insults.

"Open the door, you slut! I will kill you! I will kill your slut mother as well! Both of you are only feeding off of Brother Zhen's wealth! We are the rightful members of the Bai Family! You are nothing but sluts, gold digging whores!"

Meanwhile, Bai Ruoxi barely heard anything she screamed of. Not only was it muffled by the door, but a pair of hand was also covering her ears. Feeling amused, Bai Ruoxi raised her head and found Ming Lu who was smiling icily.

"You mustn't defile your ears, Young Miss."

"It's fine." Bai Ruoxi reached for his hands and lower them down. "Hu Shun, open the door."

The man who was standing by the side immediately abided her request. With a click sound, the door was immediately flung open and Xu Linlang tried to lash out at Bai Ruoxi. Unfortunately, Hu Shun held her back while Bai Ruoxi was safely shielded behind Ming Lu.

His aloof stares managed to send shivers down Xu Linlang and Hu Shun. His presence was so intimidating towards the two who were standing in front of him. He was akin to a cold-blooded predator, ready to strike anytime.

Fear was clutching Xu Linlang's throat tightly, preventing words to come out from her mouth. Even Peng Xinya who was pretending to be unconscious could feel the tension in the air as she started to break out in cold sweat.

Noticing the sudden silence and terror from Xu Linlang, Bai Ruoxi sighed and gave Ming Lu a light pat. "Stop that."

Ming Lu flinched when he felt Bai Ruoxi's hand on his shoulder, but he immediately dispelled his bloodlust and turned to smile at her. "Stop what?"

Bai Ruoxi rolled her eyes and strode towards Xu Linlang. Her fear filled eyes didn't even notice Bai Ruoxi until she was standing right under her nose.

"Bai Ruoxi! Quickly get the car and take Xinya to a hospital!"

Bai Ruoxi raises an amused smile, "And expose the fact that she isn't pregnant?"

That's right! The realization immediately hit the mother-daughter pair. How careless! What's the use of going to the hospital if they were just going to expose themselves?

Peng Xinya quickly let out a low groan to indicate that she was gaining consciousness. Xu Linlang immediately went to support her. They stared at each other worriedly, contemplating what to do next.

Bai Ruoxi chuckled softly, "You're awake, Cousin. That's great. Now get up, we're going to the hospital."

"There's no need, Cousin." Peng Xinya forced a smile as she tightened her fist. "I think I'm fine already."

Bai Ruoxi faked a shocked gasp. She was, of course, going to continue her act to ensure the success of her plan. "Even though you were splattered unconscious on the floor just a moment before?"

Ming Lu understood what his young miss was scheming and let out a soft chuckle. When he noticed a maid who was walking towards them, Ming Lu immediately notified Bai Ruoxi.

"Young Miss, it's done."

Bai Ruoxi nodded and excused her. Now she could proceed with her plan without worries.

"Let's get you out of here, Cousin." She slightly cocked her head. Xu Shun and Ming Lu understood the gesture and immediately went to force them up.

"No! No! You want to abort her child! Disgusting! It's your baby brother, you heartless slut!"

Peng Xinya and Xu Linlang struggled futilely in the grasps of two men.

Bai Ruoxi snorted, "What's there to abort? Last night's dinner?"

Peng Xinya's eyes turned bloodshot red. "Y-you!"

"Seriously, your acting is so hideous. I can't stand it anymore." Bai Ruoxi sighed and shook her head. "Is that why you couldn't fool anyone else and came to try your luck with us?"

Xu Linlang was enraged. She pointed a finger towards Bai Ruoxi, "Watch your mouth! Brother Zhen won't forgive you!"

Hearing it, Bai Ruoxi tilted her head and chuckled softly. "Seems like you have put too much importance upon yourself, Aunt Linlang. Who do you think you are? You're just a shameless leech who thought that my mother and I were stupid enough to believe your lies."

Bai Ruoxi slightly narrowed her eyes, "My father is disgusted to even breath the same air as you, how could he bear to lay a hand on--" her eyes looked at Peng Xinya up and down, a sneer then crept up her lips. "--this?"

Ming Lu stifled a laugh when he heard Bai Ruoxi's spiteful words. He then watched as his young miss bent slightly over and raised Peng Xinya's chin with her finger.

"The hospital is where you belong, Cousin. An asylum, precisely." Bai Ruoxi smiled icily. "Doesn't it sound fun?"
