15 chapter 15

We finally find somewhere to park Cindy's car and head towards the club, as we get closer I see bold colourful letters highlighted in the sky 'Evolve' and below the logo I spot three massive queues to get into the club, and inwardly sigh. This is gonna be fun.

She squeals in my ear, 'we finally made it, girl. Let's go and get wrecked in there'.

I raise one eyebrow at her, 'Mhmm...you make it sounds very enticing.'

She rubs her hands together, 'oh you best believe, we are going to have a night' she grabs my hand and pulls me to the front of the line, ignoring the glares that people are shooting us from the queue.

'Hey, we can't ju-' I get cut off when a burly security guard with a mean glare approaches us and asks to see her tickets. He takes one look at it, grabs our wrists and stamps us with a fluorescent logo then waves us through, Cindy blows a kiss his way as we enter.

'Um are you going to tell me what just happened back there? There's no way we just got waved through that easily' I yell at her over the loud hip hop music vibrating off the walls and around us.

Cindy leans in close and smiles at me like a Cheshire cat, 'Well it just so happens that my cousin is the owner of this club and since he loves me so much he gave me VIP tickets. We are so getting treated like royalty, and the best part of all is that I managed to convince Chris to put our drinks on tab. So don't worry about a thing and drink to your hearts content'.

She grabs my hand and drags us to a big open bar near a huge dance floor with a sea of people dancing. Cindy nudges her way through the crowd and eventually bumps her hip against the counter, 'Can we get four double shots of gin and tonic?' she asks a cute bartender, who looks her up and down and smiles at her as he rushes to make our drinks.

As we wait for our order I take this opportunity to look around me, the place is really decked out. There's a chandelier on the top of the bar, hundreds of bottles from around the world are lined up on a wall behind the bar giving it this worldly vibe, the dance floor is huge with 3 disco balls hanging from above creating streams of rainbow on the floor and smoke machines to match. It is a double story establishment, I spot the VIP lounge up stairs to the right and on this floor are some casual lounges next to the dance floor with small tables where you can relax. On the second floor I spot a second dance area and a glass room with views of the city, it looks like the smokers area.

Cindy nudges my shoulder to get my attention, 'your drink is here' and then she points to a couch, 'let's go over there to chill for a bit before we dance'.

I nod and let her pull me towards the couch that sits between the corner of the dance floor and the bar.

We sit down and I feel myself finally relaxing from the long day that I've had, as I sip my gin Cindy interrupts my reverie, 'So are you finally going to tell me what happened between you and Mr Milordov?'

My body tenses up and I try and feign ignorance, 'What do you mean? Nothing happened!'

She rolls her eyes and smiles at me, 'And pigs can fly'.

'What's that supposed to mean?'

'Oh come on Jacky, who you trying to fool! You were in such a foul mood even Greg was steering clear of you and that very rarely happens with Greg.' She raises one eyebrow at me.

I sigh, 'Fine, we had an argument because he was being rude and I didn't appreciate it so I let him have a piece of my mind'.

'And that's really all that happened...?' she smirks at me.

'God you can be so annoying!' my outburst makes her smile even more, 'Alright, but whatever I say stays here, you can't tell anyone or you could get fired.'

Her eyes twinkle and she crosses her heart and grabs my hand like we are teenagers again, 'You have my word that no one else will know what you say to me'.
