3 Jin’s Letter

Jin was the navigator for the Hwarangs. He was always lead them along unknown trails and territory. He always had this sense of adventure and spirit of helping people. Now that he was part of something important, he could really show his true self. Namjoon has known him since childhood. They were best friends along with the other 5 members.

The boat dock was his part time job since he really didn't have much to do. Even though it doesn't seem very exciting, it gave him joy to help people travel. His dog, Odeng, was also his number one joy.

The docks were covered in fog and not many people have came that day. He usually doesn't expect people to come on these types of days. Odeng was wandering around with his toy bee. He suddenly started barking loudly at a figure.

"E-excuse me?" said a man who was one of the Queen's servants. "Are you Kim Seokjin?"

"Yes," he responded. "Do you need help to go somewhere?"

"No, I came here to give a letter from the Queen. It is urgent."

"Urgent?"

Jin was handed the letter and the servant walked away.

"Wait...What is this about?"

"I'm sorry but I can't say."

He opened the letter and read it out loud:

"Dear Jin,

I know this letter may be unexpected but as you may have heard it is urgent. I am on my death bed at this moment. The Ruby Heart has been stolen from my statue, which keeps me alive. I need you and the rest of the Hwarangs to find it.

Before you proceed to find it, come to the castle so I can inform you more. I was sent a map and I think it will be much use for you. I'm not too sure how to read it so please come quickly.

"Well Odeng, I guess we have to go to the Castle and see the Queen. Are you ready?"

Odeng barked happily at him. Then he continued barking and ran behind him.

"Oden—" Jin turned around and saw that it was Namjoon. He noticed that he was holding the same envelope.

"Oh, Namjoon. I see you received a letter also. Does it tell you if you have something to do?"

"Yeah, she wanted me to come get everyone and then head to the castle."

"Ok, she wanted me to go collect a map she received earlier some time. Will you come with me? I'm sure everyone else will get a letter soon also."

"I'm not sure. I should do as the Queen asks."

"When did you receive your letter?"

"This morning."

"Everyone else should get their letter today then. We'll probably meet tonight at the castle. Don't worry Namjoon. Let's go."

"Fine. If not by tonight, we could be too late to help. We need as much time as possible."

Namjoon grabbed Odeng and headed to the Queen's castle. He kept thinking if he made a mistake and by not gathering the others. Hopefully by tonight they'll get the letter.
