5 A Second Meeting

As Christopher studied the report on Jeannie Boon, he could not help but raise his brows in surprise. If he had been asked to take her on as a business partner, then he would have accepted in a minute.

The woman had passion and dedication. She'd had a troubled childhood. With her mother working two to three menial jobs to support herself and her daughter, the woman had fallen severely sick when Jeannie Boon had reached university.

He could very well appreciate Jeannie Boon's hatred for the Royal Family. Her mother had been exiled from the palace when she was pregnant because his father fell in love with a different woman. But he could have supported his ex wife and child. And now that Isle Of Argent had no capable heirs and the people were protesting and wanted to demolish the throne, he wanted to keep his throne by bringing in his forgotten daughter.

Over the last few months, there had been stories circulating about how a princess had been stolen by his former wife. This would have been for the sake of bringing Jeannie Boon. By showing her troubled background and making his dead wife the villain, he would have the sympathy of his people. On the other hand, her achievements and prestige in a foreign country would make the people believe in her.

Of course, his grandmother was right about one thing. He did not want the Royalty to fall. Not because he himself believed in Royalty but because if Democracy was not established systematically, then the small island country would fall into the hands of either the mafia or a dictator like like Van Rigin, the current Prime Minister of The Isle.

And all of this unrest would directly affect Othon which was the nearest neighbor. If people were worried about wars breaking out, then they would hesitate to invest or travel..

Guess, he had no option but to get himself a wife.

But a wife on his terms!

"Arrange a meeting with Vice President Boon."

The Next Morning:

The office door of Jeannie's office banged shut as the ex husband of one of her clients threatened her before leaving! It was at times like these that she wondered if she should get proper walls for her office instead of the glass ones which could collapse any moment. But she always felt safer with these transparent ones..

Just as she sat back down, her assistant, James, knocked on the door," His Hotness is going to be here any moment. His security detail is already here."

Staring at her assistant, she ordered," James.. You will not drool over our benefactors.."

"Oh.. please. I won't even be close enough to drool. But you, on the other hand, can drool! You have no idea how excited I was when you asked me to lend my pants to him! And how crushed I was when he didn't! And I did not even know he was a prince then! But either way, I've done my research, that guy is straight as a pole. I bet you are going to be wishing the walls were not transparent by the end of this evening."

"James. Would you like me to deduct your pay for this month?"

"You are a ruthless boss!"

Closing the door behind him with a huff, James smiled thinly at the Prince's guards who stood there. They'd heard everything. He really hoped that they would report back to the Prince so that he would know how admired he was.

Jeannie Boon was not impressed by what she had read about Prince Christopher Sebastian Lucille Spark. He was known to be a philanthropist who was more concerned about his people and all that. But his list of businesses showed that it was all just for show. The man was involved in every sector from aviation to real estate to Crypto currency to Arms and ammunition! He had even served in his country's army! Ha! She was pretty sure that all the good things about him had probably been created by his public relations team. She knew how well those worked. Her biological father..

A slight knock on the door had Jeannie closing the webpage as well as her thoughts. Standing up, she smiled at the Prince and extended her hand to shake ignoring the sparks that she felt when their palms met.

"Mr. Spark. Please have a seat. I did not expect to hear from you.."

"Why not? We have to decide on an appropriate day for our date, Miss Boon. And I must say I like it that you referred to me without my title. Not saying it won't change it though."

Suddenly Jeannie felt a feeling of foreboding. She had not expected that the Prince would be so agreeable to a date or he would point out her choice for not referring to him as a Prince.

"I cannot expect a busy man like yourself to waste your time in organizing a date for me. It was all for charity. And you have already given your time and money for that. So, I am willing to excuse you from the date.." The man had actually sent her a cheque for the wager! Another thing she had not expected from the Prince!

"But I don't excuse myself, Miss Boon. I have made a promise and I don't like to break my promises. My people have already contacted the media outlets and I have time the day after tomorrow. Your assistant has already cleared your day. So, I 'll see you then."

"Hey! I don't agree to the date! If you are so desperate, then I can ask one of my employees.."

This time, Prince Christopher Sebastian Sparks did not look back as he said," No, you won't. Princess Jeannie of Isle of Argent."

Jeannie felt her mouth fall open at this and she could only stare at his blonde golden head as he walked out of her office after announcing her secret so casually!
