9 Chap 9. Hope for Humanity

"Wha.." Theo stammered, his face was slowly turning red.

"Say that last sentence u said again, please." Astro requested as he fluttered his eyelashes like a child begging for candy.

Theo pondered for a moment before repeating what he said, "I will not take advantage of the generosity you have already shown me." He recapped hesitantly.

"Thats.. thank you.." Astro said emotionally, although Theo had no idea why Astro was saying this, he could hear the happiness in Astro's voice, and the way his smile lifted ever so slightly made him feel like he said the right thing.

Unsure of what to say back, Theo keep quiet.

Astro laid there with a gentle smile etched on his face and his eyes still sparkling.

A few minutes later, a knock could be heard on the doors to Theo's room.

"Come in Julia!" Astro called out, he then positioned himself in a more appropriate way, since he wouldn't be able to eat if he were to lay down.

The doors to the room opened and a trolley with food on it was the first thing entering the room, behind the trolley was a lady dressed in a black suit.

Although she was wearing all black, she had a gentle smile on her lips and a face that didn't seem like she would hurt a fly.

"Hello Astro, and you must be Theo." She said with a voice dipped in honey, she gave a small bow to Theo and then continued to push the trolley.

Astro waved to where he thought Julia was from the footsteps and greeted, "Hey Julia! Thanks for bringing up the food, and did you triple check that the kababs are hot?"

"Yes of course Astro. We know you love spicy food so why would we dare to give you mild." She confirmed, Astro nodded his head as thanks.

"Um.. hello.." Theo greeted after Astro, he has hardly ever spoken to people who weren't threatening to kill him, other than Astro, Alisha and Tommy, so he wasn't that comfortable talking to her.

"Greetings. Your porridge is ready and hot, I would suggest you blow on it before consuming." She suggested with a kind smile, Theo nodded his head as thanks.

Julia grabbed a bowl from the trolley that had a lid ontop of it and proceeded to make her way towards him.

She placed the bowl on the bedside table and took the bowl that was placed there from the porridge he had previously.

"Would you like a small table set up?" She asked Theo.

Since Theo wasn't brought up in a noble family, he had no clue what a 'small table set up' was.

"Um.. what's that?" He questioned since he wouldn't get anywhere by just thinking about it.

Julia thought for a second before saying, "It's like a wooden table thing that you place ontop of the bed so you can eat off it. I'm not a good explainer so I'll just grab it." She said as she moved towards the trolley.

On the bottom row, she grabbed a wooden tray that opened up with legs underneath. She walked towards Theo and placed the tray ontop of Theo.

The tray had legs so it wouldn't lean against the person and was stable by itself, she then placed the porridge ontop of the set up.

She placed a spoon on the right sight of the bowl and then left to grab a cup of water from the trolley, "Heres some water to go with the porridge." She placed the cup to the right of the bowl and then left to help Astro.

"Thanks.." Theo thanked gently, Julia nodded her head and made her way to Astro.

"Here." She said as she tapped Astro's shoulder.

"Can I also have a small table set up?" Astro questioned with a smile, this only made Julia stop and stare.

She squealed in her mind before replying with, "Yes of course Astro." 'His still so adorable when he smiles, still your heart Julia!' She reprimanded herself internally.

She then repeated what she did previously and soon Astro had a small table above his lap.

There was a plate with kababs that looked like they were dipped in chillie sauce ontop of it. Near the plate was a mug that a lid and a button that would need to be pressed to be able to open the lid and drink from.

"Need help Astro?" Julia asked, the kababs were on skewers so it would be easy to eat but Julia was unsure if he would still need help.

"Just direct my hand to the skewers and then I can take it from there." Astro said as he rested his hand on the table set up.

"Okay" Julia agreed before picking up Astro's hand and directing it to the bottom of the skewer, "Thanks" He said when he had complete control of the skewer.

"There another two directly beside them to the right. Your mug is to the left so beware of that too." Julia informed as she walked back to the trolley, before leaving she said, "Just ask Robert to call me when you're both finished." She then left with the trolley in hand.

Theo started eating his porridge whilst Astro slowly ate his Kababs.

"This is soo good.. mm.." Astro exclaimed as he chewed on the juicy meat that was so hot it would burn a normal persons mouth.

"You're going to make me jealous Astro..." Theo said with a disheartened tone before eating a spoonful of porridge, after blowing it obviously.

"Sorryy, but- nom- its delicious~ You will definitely love them when you can have it again.." He consoled, giving Theo something to look forward to.

Theo swallowed his porridge before replying with, "It better be.."

•••

A few minutes later, Theo was halfway done with his porridge whilst Astro had just finished his first skewer.

Astro reached for the next skewer which Julia said was right next to the previous one.

His hand wondered for a bit but didn't find anything so instead he turned towards Theo's spot and asked for guidance.

"Theo, can you give me directions to the next kabab, I can't seem to find it." Astro asked.

Theo swallowed the porridge before responding to Astro since it could be considered rude to talk with food in your mouth.

After finishing, he turned to Astro and looked at his hand which was resting atop the table. The kabab wasn't that far away from his hand but for a blind person distance was weird.

"Go a little over to the left and then lift your hand a little and then it should be there." Theo explained after looking at his hands positioning.

Astro followed Theo's directions and found the next skewer, "Thanks!" He responded as he gave a light smile in Theo's direction.

"You welcome" Theo said kindly, with a smile also making its way onto his face.

Theo's heart which was once filled with coldness and hate for humans was soon being filled with hope, a hope for humanity. That seedling of hope was planted by the same status people he hated.

Who would have thought that the people he despised would help him without asking for anything in return.

Who could have possibly imagined finding someone who would disregard their own education just to help a poor homeless boy that was thrown out onto the street by assholes. They even gave him a chance to also get an education, yet in Theo's eyes that was considered too much.

He would never be able to repay these kind hearted people, and that truly frightened him.

But he had hope. The smile on his face was proof of the change taking place in him.
