Chap 8. Rejecting Astro

Theo felt like crying. Ugly crying.

"Whyyyyyyy..." Theo screamed outloud, giving Astro a fright and Alisha who was still listening also almost threw her phone.

"...you ok..?" Astro said cautiously, "No.." Theo replied straight away.

"Whats wrong then?" Astro inquired. Theo only cried in silence and answered a few seconds later, "Kababs.. I love them.." He explained with a disheartened tone.

"..." Astro didn't comment, Theo looked at him with a sad expression only to see Astro trying to hold back his laugh by holding his breath.

"..Stop trying to hold back your laugh." Theo said with a deadpan face, "PFFT HAhaahHAAaaa", Astro wheezed without any restraint.

"WHATS FUNNY?? TELL ME" Alisha screamed into her phone when she heard Astro wheezing on the other side, "The..o haha.. Theo started crying.. pfft hahaha- BECAUSE OF KABABS!" His speech was distorted from the continuous laughing in-between words but Alisha understood and also started laughing.

Theo's face blackened, 'how rude' he thought to himself as he crossed his arms and death stared Astro.

"Fine, fine I'll stop, haha.. I can feel you boring a hole into my head by that death stare you're doing."

"HAHAHAAAHA!! ITS OK THEO, THERES STILL SOME DELICIOUS PORRIDGE LEFT OVER!" Alisha laughed with no restraint, her words caused Theo's face to blacken further.

"Shh Alisha.. I can feel him boring a hole into my head" Astro whispered into the device, "So.. kababs and porridge is it, thanks Alisha." Astro thanked before hanging up by pressing a button on the remote.

"Anything else you need Astro?" Robert asked, "No, that's it Robert. Thanks for the help." He said remote shutting down the device.

"Anyway, once your strict diet is over than you can have all the kababs you wish." Astro said with a sweet smile, this only caused Theo to blush since Astro's smile made him think of things he wouldn't have.

He quickly covered his face, "You promise?" He asked with his hands on his face.

"I would pinky promise but I don't know where your hand is." Astro said, Theo smiled and crawled closer to Astro.

Astro, with his superior hearing could hear the rustling of sheets and the beds mattress move. Yet, he only sat still.

Theo reached out to Astro and patted his shoulder, trying to make it known that he was there, Astro nodded in response.

Theo then reached out to his right hand that was laying ontop of his lap, he grabbed his right hands wrist and Astro moved along with his movements.

Theo brought his other hand up and intertwined their pinky fingers, Astro locked his pinky with Theo's and brought his thumb up.

Theo did the same and they locked the promise with their fingers, "Now it's for real! You should know that I always keep my promises!" Astro stated when he brought his hand back to rest it on his lap.

Theo also started crawling away, "Good, if you break this promise then I get.. I get to.. I don't know, I'll figure something out later." He said unsurly.

Once he sat back down the room was enveloped in silence, neither him nor Astro were saying a word.

You wouldn't think that the silence was nice since they only just met a few hours ago, but shockingly, it was.

The silence wasn't one of those awkward silence that made you want to die from embarrassment. It was a peaceful silence that was filled with warmth.

Theo then decided to break the peaceful silence after 10 minutes.

"I'm truly sorry about pushing you down, I know I said it before but I am actually so sorry, I just didn't expect you to be.. um.. caressing my head.." As one would expect, he started off strong and finished off weak. His face was flushed red since he never experienced something like that.

"Dont worry, it was my fault. I heard you saying stop or something like that so I thought you were having a nightmare, so I decided to comfort you since you also haven't had much sleep i suspect." Astro turned his face away, why? Because his face was tomato red.

Sure, he was telling the truth, but not all of it and the other part of the truth only made him blush.

Theo got the wrong message and thought he was turning his face away in disgust. They mutually ended the conversation there.

"Well.. is there anything you would like to know? Or do?" Astro asked, trying hard to change the topic to something more.. appropriate..

"Do you normally help people off the streets?" Theo questioned, this was one of the burning questions he had in his head the moment he found out that they would help him.

Yet, Astro shook his head.

"I haven't been out in awhile, being blind and a noble isn't that.. good.. in this day and age." Astro said with a sad undertone.

Theo knew what he meant. Asto was probably subjected to bullying, he was sadly the perfect victim because of his disability.

"I wish to help more people though, you were kind of the first. When I heard we almost ran you over I knew we had to help, not from pity, but because I simply had the need to help you." Astro responded, he didn't want to make it seem like he was only helping Theo out of pity, and he truly wasn't helping him out of pity.

Theo was interesting to him, he was curious about his life story. It doesn't seem simple and it intrigued him very much.

Also, if Astro were to say that he was interesting, wouldn't it seem like he was treating Theo like an animal he found beaten up and chucked in a zoo. Its common knowledge that you don't say someone was interesting, especially someone who is severely malnourished and thin.

"I understand.. Oh, where were you going anyway? I stopped you from going to your destination!" Theo realised they had stopped everything to help him, and that simply made him feel warm fuzzies.

He felt like a God was watching out for him and they finally thought it was time for him to be rewarded instead of being continuously beaten down.

"Just school. School can wait though, a person's life is more important than education. Since you're kind of my age i can ask father to enroll you into school if you want." Astro suggested with a bright smile making its way onto his face.

Theo only sat there, shocked..

Who would expect.. and random person to help them so much.. and to even help one get into school..?

NO ONE, it was simply unheard of!

Theo pondered for a moment before rejecting the idea though.

Astro was too generous, and he was not one to continuously take what is given. He wouldn't dare to ask for something like an education.

"Thanks Astro, but I couldn't possibly ask for something like that. I will not take advantage of the generosity you have already shown me" Theo responded, he rejected the idea without any regret.

"Aww, say that again.." Astro said as he slowly laid down onto the bed, he propped his head onto his arms with his legs laid out behind him.

He had an adorable smile on his face with his lifeless eyes sparkling, this scene made Theo's heart explode.

"Wha.." Theo stammered, his face was slowly turning red.
