3 Chapter 3-Conflicted Thoughts

That was the last think I heard before a sharp pain hit my head and the world went dark. Waking up I found myself in a small room with a single bed. Groggily Sitting up I struggled to remember what happened. I vaguely remembered getting sent to the world of Quanzhi fashi before blacking out.

Suddenly I opened my eyes in shock as memories poured into me of another life. Growing up in this world along with my family xin xia and my father. No way I remember growing up in this house. Living in a technological world before a dying man gave me a pendant when suddenly the world turned magical. I also remembered my other life. I was a genius with a 250 IQ. I had knowledge about future events here from my favorite series.

Getting dizzy from thinking over his two different lives, Itachi groggily sat up as he gained his bearings. It felt very strange to have memories of two different lives. He was still felt himself as Itachi, but he was also Mo fan growing Bo city surrounded by mountains inside the country of china. Gathering his memories he realised he was in his room.

He remembered the events leading up this incident how he and her sister were hanging out at the playground before he had gotten a head ache when he suddenly fainted much to the worry of his loving sister.

That must have been when he transmigrated over Itachi thought. Glancing down at his neck he reassured himself seeing the lil loach pendant which must already be upgraded to store souls and boost his cultivation speed 100%. Well if nothing went wrong I should have a day before my first day of magic high school where I will complete my awakening.

Hearing the sound of the door opening Itachi turned to face his sister xin xia. Whether it was his emotions or affection from his memories as Mo Fan he felt a deep familial love and desire to protect his sister from harm.

Putting a smile on his face as to not worry his sister, he greeted xin xia who had a concerned look on her face. "Brother you fainted for over an hour we called a doctor, but he said it was nothing serious.

He said that you probably just fainted from the sun, but I'm afraid something happened to you. Do you feel alright?"she said in a somewhat panicked tone "I'm fine" he quickly replied giving his sister a hug. "Brother is going to become a strong mage who you won't have to worry over anymore" he said with a warm smile patting her head.

"you slept for an hour big brother. Dinner will be done soon." she said pouting cutely. Nodding his head Itachi followed her down the narrow hallway of their tiny home. In the series, this family was far from rich and it was very obvious walking around the home as he took in his surroundings recalling how shoddy the place is.

Stepping into the kitchen he came into view of his father. Seeing that weary face as he did his best to put food on the table sent mixed feelings through Itachi on one hand the cynical side of him slightly blamed his father for their financial situation in the past, but on the other hand his father had begged Mu Zhuo Yun to let his son in the magic academy and Itachi could sense the deep love he had for him and xin xia.

He adopted Xin Xia without any complaint after she was abandoned by her mother Salan which most wouldn't be able to do.

"Hey dad" he greeted kinda awkwardly still not used to the whole situation. Mo Jianxiang put away his weary expression responding with a smile over to his son replying "Im glad your alright come eat dinner" while saying that he pushed over a majority of the stew leaving only a tiny portion for himself. Seeing this saddened Itachi.

Although he did not expect to be around too much in the future as he traveled around, he would do his best to give his father a good home and plenty of food like this hardworking man deserved.

Quickly finishing his meal Itachi told his father and sister he was going out and would be back soon. Itachi took a short walk to the outskirts of town and into the woods remaining on high alert.

Although they was a very low chance for monsters to have gotten past the military guards it would not be impossible for a smaller minion rank monster to sneak through if it was careful and occasionally there was instances where attacks happened in or near the city.

Reaching far enough to where he was confident he wouldn't be disturbed he concentrated as he tried to summon his bow he was supposed to have gotten.

Concentrating on that thought of that bow he felt a vague pull on his mind as he put more focus in his head. Before he knew it a dark blue and black bow appeared with blue gaseous substance surrounding it which was... magic?

Holding it in his hand he felt refreshed and full of energy as he ran his hands over the sleek design of the bow concentrating again this time on the form of the Naginata blade he requested.

As soon as he thought that the string disappeared and the bow became straighter as it extended a dark black blade with faint streaks of blue that seemed to captivate the soul. He decided to call it grimfrost because it perfectly suited his the blades nature.

Itachi marveled the sight of grimfrost as this was the finest weapon he had ever seen. Gripping the comfortable smooth grip in two hands he moved forward and leaping up he brought it down in a fierce diagnol strike down against a tree shocked as the blade cleanly cut through the 2 foot diameter trunk with little to no resistance.

Diving out of the way Itachi glanced up as the 40 foot tall tree completely collapsing as it leaned against its companions for support. Itachi was now very glad that he went as far inside the woods as he did because a 40 foot tree loudly falling would attract alot of unwanted attention.

Choosing the safe route of retreat Itachi quickly left the are heading deeper to find an area to test his bow. Arriving in a small clearing he began to resummon his bow to test out the arrows.

Concentrating slightly Grimfrost in his hand turned back to the blue and black bow as he gripped the string concentrating on an arrow. Seconds later a blue arrow appeared thrumming with energy as Itachi felt himself grow a little tired.

This is to be expected afterall he hasn't even awakened yet and the small amount of magic in his body made even firing one of these energy arrows extremely taxing on his body.

Not underestimating the weapon again he instead aimed it closer to the ground at a large rock boulder against the bottom of the cliffside as he released the arrow. It quickly shot off leaving a faint trail of blue as it silently moved through the air so fast it was even difficult for Itachi's perception to track it.

It shot deeply into the stone cracks spiderwebbing for meters as the crushing sound of rocks occurred. Taking a deep breath Itachi unsummoned the bow as he moved closer to inspect the damage.

Pretty close to his expectations it had great penetrative ability shooting deep into the solid rock. Surprisingly it also did alot of damage to the surroundings rock with the energy disappearing in all directions as the arrow dissolved almost like a mini explosion except it was not that loud. He decided to name the bow Phantom strike reminiscent of how silent it was as it trailed through the air until it was too late.

Considering that the bow would grow stronger with him it was quite the monstrous ability. He estimated that it was strong enough to insta kill warrior class monsters if he shot them through the head or other vital areas and he was not even awakened yet.

Warrior class beasts moved very fast however so it would be best to take one by surprise, but even if its on the run Itachi is confident in accurately hitting its vitals with his skill in archery. The arrows could even damage commander ranked beasts, but killing it would be very unlikely even for the weakest commanders.

Even this highly destructive arrow would struggle to make any headway against the tough defenses of commander ranked monsters. Near the higher end of commander beasts this highly destructive weapon may not even be enough to scratch it.

Starting at the commander rank there is an increasing gap in between subtiers the difference between demi commanders and evolving commanders can be described as the difference between novice mages and high tier mages.

In other words if the two were to fight the demi commander would be obliterated in a single strike by the latter with the former having little chance to resist. Overall Itachi was quite satisfied with his experimenting. Itachi began to return home not before stumbling across a heavily forested ridge near the Mu family manor.

Nostalgia from memories that were not originally his came to mind as he vividly remembered his memories here. He remembered the Mu family 'Princess' who awakened her ice element at a young age called Mu Ning Xue. Before, he didn't know all that, she was just a close friend.

This was their meeting spot where they would talk for hours. He was one of her closest friends and she would retreat here to this ridge behind their property to escape from the stresses of her family. It was here where they first met and promptly became very close friends. Being the son of a mere chauffeur driver for her family his was status was very low.

It was pretty much impossible for them to be even be friends much less get romantically involved, yet sometimes fate likes to mess with you. He had liked her and on the spur of the moment they even kissed a warm feeling spreading throughout his chest as he remembered her silky white hair and her light blue eyes.

He tried to tell himself these weren't his feelings, but it didn't change the emotions he felt. In his past life he was not really interested in much with girls being one of the least important things in his life, yet here he was with these feelings welling up in his chest.

Even though he had liked her and she seemed to return it it proved to be impossible. Her family found out almost the same moment it happened and they almost beat the young boy to death with her doing little to help save him.

The young boy's father took much of his son's punishment and he was little more than a slave for her family. Her father warned the little princess of the dangers of being close to 'trash' like him and how she needs to act more like the young miss of the esteemed Mu family should. The previously close friends suddenly became distant like the moon. Seemingly so close you can touch it, yet so far away.

Maybe he made a mistake pushing everyone away in his previous life. Maybe if he put himself out there he would have found someone like this in his heart. Sighing deeply he put these thoughts to the back of his mind as he turned around prepared to walk back home when he was startled at the white haired beauty ten meters away standing next to a tree looking at him with a complicated look in her bright blue eyes.

Their eyes met as painful memories surfaced for both of them. He put back on his icy mask that was so well practiced and said in a tone devoid of any emotion "sorry for disturbing you Miss Xue I will leave right away" as he swiftly walked past her ignoring the painful look in her eyes.

Thats right he thought. I didn't come here for romance. I came here to experience a life of adventure fighting strong monsters as I become even stronger myself. I have no time for this nonsense. Associating with her will bring me nothing but trouble. My main priority is to awaken my elements and start training. I have no time for nuisances such as her.

Walking past Mu Ning Xue without so much as a glance as all he heard was a soft whisper "Mo Fan" in a sad tone. This voice was quickly left behind as I broke into a dash gracefully dodging trees to get away from that cursed place.

Returning home all thoughts went towards the awakening tomorrow. All emotions of Mu Ning Xue were forcefully pushed to the back of Itachi's mind as he was determined to rise to the peak. Nothing would stop him, and these simpletons better get out of the way or they would get hurt competing against him.

Mu Ning Xue (POV)

I used to like a boy named Mo Fan. Even though our statuses were so different with him it ... it felt so real. Away from my family whose expectations were extremely high away from all those people who would fawn over the young miss of the famous Mu family.

Sometimes at night I would climb to the top of the ridge back behind her house to calm my mind. That was where I met Mo Fan. I had seen him before as the lowly chauffeurs son. My status to him didn't seem to matter as he treated me like any other, this innocent boy not yet exposed to the reality of the world just like I was.

We quickly became friends and then even more that. It happened near midnight at the edge of ridge we both sat down staring into the dark sky lit by the many stars and the full moon shining bright into the sky.

Chatting and laughing away like we acted like we normally did except... something was different this time. The tension in the air as we sat a few feet apart was unbearable, the fluttering in my chest as I kept getting red. As we sat in silence for a couple moments, I turned to face him and we looked deeply into each others eyes.

His blue purple colored eyes met mine and before I knew it we leaned in and kissed a deep kiss as pure ecstasy flowed through my veins in response to it as all the surroundings seemed to melt away.

The warmth was unreal and as we pulled apart we both looked away blushing shocked at what we had just done. Just as I was turning around my father along with some other clansmen burst into the scene having witnessed what we had done.

They shouted out eyes filled with anger "How Dare You Defile the young miss" and they jumped in-between grabbing the young boy and dragging him away kicking and shouting. I was so confused... Why were they so mad? I tried to explain "Noo he did nothing wrong!"

But my father ignored my pleas taking me aside before lecturing me how it was dangerous associating with that kind of riffraff as I stood their rooted to the ground in shock at his words.

Sure I knew we had different statuses, but I didn't think it meant he was any less as a human being. That was the day I grew up from my naivety.

I no longer thought it was possible for us to be together. Sure I had some feelings for boy, but I needed to wake up. I started becoming the proper young miss I was supposed to be.

My status only elevated as I awakened my Ice magic at such a young age with high talent even attracting the attention of the main family, one of the strongest powers in China. They took notice of me and helped me with resources I needed for cultivation.

Time passed and eventually I thought I had completely lost any feelings for the the young man, but as I saw Mo Fan standing at the stoically at the edge of the ridge gazing out into the dusk sky all those barriers collapsed I hadn't seen him in a few years and I really missed him.

I looked at him nervously as he slowly turned to face me. First I saw surprise then a cold look that showed me things could never go back to the way they were. If his cold look didn't hurt me then his voice devoid of emotion formally saying "sorry for disturbing you Miss Xue I will leave right away" threatened her with tears.

Hearing him call her Miss Xue in a cold tone and not her nickname to him Xue'er made her miss the way things were. She wanted spend hours talking away her day with him. Throwing the days stresses away as they gaze into the night sky laughing as they enjoyed the company of one another.

His words were like a wake-up call reminding her there was no future between them. As she struggled to find something to say something to the man she had loved, he dashed into the woods seemingly vanishing as quickly as he appeared.
