5 Growing up part 2

As a reincarnated person familiar with the future, Draco clearly knew that Voldemort had only briefly disappeared in front of the scene at this time, but his remnant soul is still hiding in a forest in Albania, waiting for a chance to comeback. Lucius choice to save himself is tantamount to betrayal in the eyes of Voldemort and due to his revenge plan on Weasely's in Draco's second year, he would end up losing that monster's horcrux. As a result, Lucius not only lose his position among the death eaters, but even the whole family is punished for this. Malfoy manor was requisitioned, his mother was taken as a hostage and he was given the dark mark and a mission to die. Even after Voldemort fell again, Lucius and him are again sent to Azkaban. The Malfoy family has since been ruined and irreparably weakened. Draco stop himself from going into these dark memories and again made a promise to himself that he would change his family's fate and will lead it to glory.

Years went by and Draco was fitting into his new life very well than expected, maybe since he was in a body of a little kid, everything was explained to him in a detailed manner about the wizarding world and pure blood bullshit by his Mother and Father, yes now that he has already experienced his first life he knew that in front of absolute power all this is bull crap. Even though his parents were kinda forcing all the pureblood propaganda on him, he knew that they loved him very much, especially his mother. After Voldemort's failure and regret that the wizarding community was not ruled by the pure blood's Lucius was in a gloomy mood day and night and was dreaming about how the great Harry Potter may grow up to be the next pure-blood champion and would help complete his dream. But soon after finding out about his own son's talent in speaking and understanding since an early age, Lucius considered his son to be a genius, so he cheered up creating a master plan to raise his son as the next lord to rule the wizarding world, completely forgetting about Harry.

'Yes, A father's wish would be fulfilled by his son and the Malfoy would be more powerful than ever.' Lucius thought to himself. In Draco's delight, his father spent a lot of time with him, teaching him about magic. Narcissa was against Draco learning Magic at this young age instead of making friends and enjoying his childhood like normal wizard but seeing both Draco and Lucius stubborn on learning and teaching, Narcissa gave up but not until they swore to fulfill one of her wishes in the future.

Draco mostly learned theoretical knowledge of magic and potion at the beginning. Since his father was once a member of the slug club in his school years by gaining the recognition of Slug Horn for his potions and his godfather was a potion master in Hogwarts, Draco had a profound understanding in Potions. Since he was not allowed to use magic early on, Draco focused most of his time brewing potions as it didn't require magic and even a muggle could make one with proper ingredients and instructions. Draco had a lot of notes from his father and some even from his Godfather, which made his study much easier. Draco was sure that he could brew basic potions with his eyes closed and even some intermediate level potion and difficult potions without trouble, which made Lucius very happy as all the years of teaching his son intensely was not in vain. Thankfully Malfoy's were very rich and Lucius was more than happy to buy ingredients for Draco to experiment on making potions. Draco over the years had managed to create a new potion and had found ways to make some potions better by adding another ingredient or two. Draco also had interest in Alchemy, especially after his sixth year repairing that damn 'Vanishing Cabinet' but since it required magic he only knew some basic knowledge about it.

Now, back to me being five.

I knocked on the closed door in front of me and waited patiently for an answer.

"Come in." I hear the occupants answer.

I open the door and walk into my father's home office. It's a place I am not allowed into when he isn't there. There's his large and sturdy desk, with a few bookshelves in the the room and behind his chair, on the wall, are moments in his life he is proud of. His graduation, marriage photo, notable moments are all behind him in moving photographs just as I remembered.

He looks up from his work and realizes it's me. He takes off his glasses and looks at me.

"Draco? What's wrong? How come you came here? Aren't you usually playing or talking with your mother right now?" He asked in a tired manner.

"There's nothing Father. I just wanted to ask if it was possible to have some tutors come in and teach me about subjects that won't require a wand for."

"What?" He said, asking for a clarification.

"I want to study things like Potions, Herbology, History, Astronomy, Arithmancy and Ancient runes!" I said with stars almost coming out of my eyes. "And I also want to read about the charms, jinxes and curses I'm going to learn at Hogwarts, to at least know the words and motions. I also want the learn how transfiguration works!"

"Wait a second Draco. You want to learn all those subjects now?" He asked confirming my requests.

I nod quickly. "But if I can't get tutors can I get the books instead? I've finished all the books downstairs." I ask trying to put an alternative on the table.

"You finished all the books downstairs?!" He exclaimed in disbelief as he abruptly stood up.

"I have been reading them for a while. I even made some corrections in some of them based on the collective opinions of other authors and my own research." I proclaim with my chest puffed out a bit.

"You did what?!" Almost screamed Lucius. "Come with me." He said as he dragged me downstairs.

"Which books did you make your corrections?" he asked me with narrowed eyes.

"Well, I looked at the Seven-volume work on Harry Potter's life and the Second Wizarding War, but most of it was completely ludicrous. Do people actually believe this nonsense?" I started by questioning some of the materials spread in the magical world.

"Then there was A Study of Recent Developments in Wizardry, which I found that they didn't properly reference similar spells and developments from either earlier wizards or modern Muggle breakthroughs. Most of the muggle studies books are out of date by almost a century. The Dark Arts: A Legal Companion had many loopholes that I found and listed a few possible solutions. Laws of Conduct When Dealing With Muggles‎ was similarly ridiculous. And I found that both Legislative Guide to the Proper Use of Magic and Magical Misdemeanors in the Modern Law are showing a high level of discriminatory restriction on any muggle-born or wizards containing beast blood which can possibly lead to possibly violent reactions if the current trend of laws keeps up." I answered systematically.

Father quickly went through the mentioned books and found my notes. At first he looked mad, but as he read through them his eyes widened in understanding at what I wrote.

I know it is reckless but I have no time as I know what lies in the coming days so I have to prove my worth to father while subtly changing his opinions on Muggles and Baldy, after all I don't want my father to run back to his 'Master' at his return. This will also give an excuse to my vast knowledge on magical subjects after all how can a high schooler not solve the questions of a primary grade student. I can also scrap many of the unread books on dark magic and other subjects which I have neglected in my previous life, after all 'knowledge is Power' and I have understood it in a hard way.

"Draco. This is what you've been doing with these books all the time?" he asked

"Yeah, I would have tried forming opinions and new ideas on other things but your books are centered more on laws and history." I answered to his query.

He stayed silent for a time and looked at me whilst thinking.

"Alright. I'll get you some tutors." he finally declared.

"Yes!" I exclaimed with a fist pump.

"But." he added making my celebration stop in its track.

"We will start with the basic subjects of potions, Herbology, Astronomy and History. You will also be getting proper etiquette lessons and penmanship classes to deal with the horrendous scribbling you call writing. I will personally supervise in you in potions as it is my speciality. If you can't handle this then your lessons will stop until you get to Hogwarts. If you succeed we shall see if we can add the other subjects you requested." he stated his deal and it was take it or leave it.

"Alright Father, I will meet your expectations." I stated resolutely in response. A small smile on my Father's face is all the response I get. Narcissa was happy that her son was a genius but was angry at the fact that Draco spent all his time alone studying or brewing potions, so she had son's of Lucius friends be friends with Draco. They were obviously Crabbe and Goyle. He gets emotional seeing them, especially Crabbe. But after some time, Draco was annoyed by these two airheads and do not want to waste his time but due to him not being able to say no to his angry mother he reluctantly accepted it. Draco wasn't very fond of them because unlike his previous self, he didn't need lackeys, he needed companions and these two were far from his standard of companion considering the fact that, they would pee in their pants just hearing the name Voldemort. Draco quickly found a solution for their bothersome personalities, he started training them, be it physically or mentally.

Even though Draco treated them harshly, he didn't bring them any harm. He considered himself bad but not evil and he wouldn't harm his friends and since it was a nice to talk to someone now and then other than his parents and the house elf, he didn't mind them. Crabbe and Goyle too understood Draco a lot better and willfully became his subordinates since they had no other choice than that; even though they were scared of him, they respected him a lot as well, Draco was more talented than they could ever be and they wished to learn something from him.

Like that two years have passed and I can say that I have gathered new information while consolidating the flaws in my previous knowledge.
