95 A Promise in Silence

Selena slowly opened her eyes, greeted by the soft glow of sunlight filtering through the infirmary's window. Her vision blurred for a moment as she adjusted to the surroundings.

The room was quiet, save for the gentle hum of healing magic modules and the distant sounds of the settlement awakening to a new day. 

As her groggy mind began to clear, she realised she was wrapped in bandages, her body still aching from the wounds inflicted by the bandits.

Confusion washed over Selena as she tried to piece together what had happened. She couldn't recall how she had returned to the settlement, the events after her capture fading into a haze. Her memory seemed fragmented, disjointed, and she struggled to make sense of it all.

Then, in a sudden rush, the memories flooded back—the pain inflicted upon her by the bandits, the fear and uncertainty that had gripped her heart as the Bandits tortured her for days.
