Third POV

Currently in A very luxuriously decorated room Vergil with Sunniva was seated behind them was May, in front of them was the representative of Sorcerer Society guild house Akane 

However the atmosphere in the room was quite cold and there was a suffocating silence around them, none of the people present were by any means normal.

"Whatever do you mean by that" Vergil said as he calmly looked at Akane

"My My young noble you know exactly what I mean" Akane said as she hid her smile with her hand

"It would seem your guild does not solely deal with Auction items" Vergil said 

"Certainly we also sell various types of things here including….. Intelligence" Akane said as she put a finger against her lips making a secret sign

"Than what can you tell me regarding the situation I am in" Vergil asked her 

"Hehe…young noble I must say you are under the eye of a lot of people" she said

"They say that the royal princess was on an important diplomatic visit to the Adrian Empire. But who could have thought that she would be ambushed on her way? The Empire had been under considerable tension, with rumors suggesting that a war was about to commence. Just when things seemed to be spiraling out of control, a young noble son rescued the princess from slave traders in his family's territory. Thanks to this, the Empire was able to provide a response to the Eldarian Royal family, thereby reducing international tension... Doesn't it sound like a fairy tale?" Akane asked as she recounted the details of the situation.

Vergil was also surprised, but he had expected this much. The importance of Sunniva is crucial for the Eldarian Royal family, and looking at it now they would not hesitate to start a war. Vergil confirmed just his guesses

"What about the people behind the ambush" Vergil asked clearly the slave traders were not 

"Currently they are still unknown but they are said to be part of some international crime syndicate….. princess was able to escape from the pursuers because of her guards but fortunately or unfortunately she was taken by slave traders" Akane said

It would seem that the slave traders were used as pawns and the nobles had no idea about the identity of the elf. Sunniva trembled as she heard Akane. The experience was not a pleasant one for her

Vergil looked at Sunniva as she did the same but he just gave her a reassured smile and slowly took her hand as to give her support 

"Dont worry nothing will happen" Vergil said in a low voice reassuring Sunniva

"Your intelligence sources are really deep" Vergil said as he raised an eyebrow

The visit was not made public, so someone has leaked her travel location and time. It had to be someone from the upper echelons of the country either from the Empire or from Eldarion kingdom, yet the guild house could get such information it surprised Vergil

"We are really good at what we do young noble" Akane said as she winked at Vergil earning a flare from May

"Well as long Sunniva is fine it's okay if I receive some attention" Vergil said as he shrugged his shoulders 

"What about the people involved in slave trading" Vergil asked for him this was important

"When the Emperor heard about the slavery he was furious he ordered a thorough investigation and promised to punish the people behind this atrocious act….. currently many organizations involved have been arrested and the nobility involved will be Court Martialed" 

The nobles are judged by a special Trial held in the presence of imperial family, mainly it's the emperor but it can also be by the Prince or Princesses

When a noble is Court Martialed, they can potentially lose their noble ranks or even be demoted to a commoner, worse case scenario Death by decapitation.

"That's harsh" Vergil said although he knows

There won't be any major punishment, they might prove them innocent based on lack of evidence

Squall is a potential witness according to the knights he did not all the truth it would seem the boss alone was in contact with the people behind the scene

Even then they will sacrifice a part of their wealth or some privilege, maybe bribe some officials and can be given a light sentences 

Vergil was thinking about the information that Akane gave him and was interrupted by a knock on the door

It was Simon he had prepared all the stuff needed 

It was quite a lot so brought in a special storage device 

"These are all the items you requested young noble"

Vergil observed the items it was all there as he transferred to his space pocket, and returned the device

" How much?" Vergil asked 

" For what young noble" Akane asked back while pretending to be confused

"Both" Vergils said, there is no way this information cheap, knowing the enemy is half the battle 

Intelligence is very crucial in this world, the information given to Vergil is considered a top level secret so it must be very expensive 

For this reason he asked the price

"For the herbs we will go with the amount we discussed before, but for this price of information….." Akane paused for a moment as she closed her eyes

There was silence in the room for a moment 

"Let's go with 2000 platinum" Akane said a she opened her eyes

"What!!!" May exclaimed as she heard the price

"Okay" Vergil agreed he did not even think for a moment 

Sunniva looked confused at May, it would seem she does not have sense of currency

"Young master" May wanted to say something 

"I know May, I can at least afford this" Vergil said as he interrupted May

May quite down as she stood behind Vergil 

Vergil gave his card to Akane, she also looked surprised ,maybe at his boldness or his recklessness

"W-well that's fine" Akane said, she never thought that Vergil would not even bother to negotiate

2000 P or 100000 G is clearly a lot of money not just anyone can have it, Although Vergil could wait for his father to comeback and he can get even more detailed information from him, so although this information was important it was not worth this much price, Akane initially thought that Vergil would not have such money so she could ask for a favor, yet it would seem the young man in front of her was far more astute than her

"Than I shall take my leave now Miss Akane, I'm afraid I can't stay here for too long" Vergil said as he stood up with Sunniva 

"Thankyou for visiting young Noble if you have any other things to cell you can directly contact us again, we can send our people to get them" she said as she also stood up and bowed

"No its fine I can use this excuse to sneak out" Vergil joked with her

"Fu Fu than I will be waiting for my lords next visit" she said as she smiled 

Ahem 

"Young master it's getting late" May said as she glared at Vergil

"Yes yes let's go" Vergil said as he helplessly laughed

"Oh by the way.." Vergil suddenly stopped as he looked at Akane

"Please convey my gratitude to the person who gave this news" Vergil said mysteriously as he smiled at Akane

Akane was startled at Vergil's Sudden remark

"W-What Do you mean, young noble" Akane said as she struggled to keep her demeanor

Vergil just smiled and said nothing as he made his way out of the room with May who was puzzled looking at Vergil and Sunniva who looked a little thoughtful

Vergil POV

We spent the rest of our time wandering around the Magic street I also bought a few more things, and also bought a gift for Sunniva

She was looking intensely at the gifts I gave to May and mom, so I gave one to her as well. It was a golden locket with a sun shaped covering befitting her name

After that it was approaching evening we had to get back to the estate before it gets too dark, so we went to our Vehicle and made our way home, on the way

"Okay May, what do you want to ask" I really couldn't stand the curious look she kept in giving me the after meeting with Akane

While Sunniva was playing with the locket that I gifted her, she also looked at me

"Young Master, why did you give her so much money, it was almost your entire amount. Also why was that fox so startled at the end " May started her barrage of questions

"Easy there May, I will answer all your question" I said as I stopped her excitement

"Ohh…. Sorry young master" she realized her embarrassment as she buried her face in her hands

"Hehe" Sunniva giggling at May's embarrassment

"Sunniva do you also want to ask this?" I asked Sunniva

"Not really what I want to ask is why did you not ask me, also are 2000 Platinum very expensive" She asked with a confused look on her face

May's face twitched at her lack of sense of money

"Listen your highness in the Empire…." she began explaining her the concept of money but I interrupted her 

"Well May you can explain it to her latter or do you not want me to answer your question" I asked her playfully as I don't want her going to lecture mode again
