7 Chapter 7

Rey waited for Amiel to return. He didn't expect him to return so soon though, and with a girl by his side. She was dressed in all black bore a strikingly resemblance to Amiel. "There you are Rey, this is my daughter Sarah!" Amiel had a big smile on his face after being reunited with his Chile. "I haven't seen here since she was your age Rey. How long has it been? Two...three years?" He asked her. "More like six father, I've been able to cultivate for a few years now. Did you get any of my letters?"

Amiel rubbed the back of his neck and laughed nervously, "Nope, not even a single one!" Sarah bowed towards Rey and apologized to him. "I'm sorry for attacking you. I was angry seeing my father spending time with another child, seeing as he didn't seem to have any time for his own daughter. I let my jealousy get the best of me and hurt you!"

"It's fine, I completely understand." Rey said with a smile. Honestly he didn't understand, he wasn't really close with his parents growing up and his mother in this world he only knew for a few days. Rey had no strong familial ties for him to get jealous over.

"I didn't know Mr. Amiel had a daughter? He never speaks of you." Rey shot Amiel a glance with a cheeky grin. Amiel had a look of betrayed on his face as he was smacked to the floor by his own daughter. "Ofcourse he didn't talk about me, he's a good for nothing father who only cares about fighting!" Amiel was fake crying, trying to gain his daughters sympathy. "I'm sorry gumdrop, please don't hit me!"

This was a whole new side to Amiel than Rey was used to. The Amiel he knew was stoic and careless. He would pick a fight with someone who looked strong just because he wanted to without regards to his own safety. Now he was being pushed around...by someone half his age. "Ignore him" she said. "Who are you?"

"Oh sorry, my name is Rey. I'm 10 years old and your dad is helping me get back home. He's giving me lessons on how to get strong that way I can help him!" Rey was super excited and threw punches in the air. "Nice to meet you Rey! As you already know, my name is Sarah. I'm 16 and have been cultivating for 4 years now. I'm at 2nd stage Human Realm. I'm what some would call a prodigy!" She said proudly.

"That's my Gumdrop! So strong and beautiful, just like your mother." Amiel said while on the ground. Sarah stepped on his back and pushed down with some force. Amiel was overdramatic and flailed his arms and legs while screaming. "He's overexaggerating," Sarah said. "I have no where near enough strength to hurt my father. The difference in power between a Human Realm cultivator and a Heaven Realm cultivator is too vast."

Rey had a new respect for Amiel. From what he knew, a Heaven Realm cultivator was powerful enough to destroy a whole mountain. Earth Realm cultivators were able to defeat a small army. Beast Realm were able to take on a medium sized army. Human Realm were able to take on entire cities by themselves with some difficulty. Sky Realm could level a city with ease. Dragon Realm were strong enough to take on entire countries. And lastly but certainly not least, the God Realm cultivators. There have only been 4 of them in the entire history of the human race. They were said to be calamity class beings, able to wipe out all of humanity.

"You really hurt me Gumdrop!" Amiel said with a tear sliding down his cheek. Sarah pulled her bow out and shot a full power arrow at Amiel. He easily stopped it with just two fingers. "Easy Sarah, you know that even you could do some damage to me with that bow of yours." Amiel stood up and dusted off his clothes. "Now what was it that brought you here Sarah?"

"Oh right, mother sent me...she's sick!" Sarah was holding back tears. "She's got cultivation sickness...the doctor said that she has a year at best before her body completely gives out on her." Amiel was silent. He wiped a tear off of Sarah's cheek. "Thank you for coming to get me. I'll make sure to see her as soon as I can." Sarah shook her head. "I have no doubt she'd like that but that's not why. She had a dream about you. You know she can't say what happenes in her dreams but she says to be careful and watch out."

Amiel nodded. "Rey, I'll let you be for a while. Don't let up on your training. I'm going to go see my wife with Sarah. Stay in town, I should be gone for about a week or so as I have to go to the next town over. Stay safe kid." Rey nodded and waived bye to the two of them. With a few jumps they were out of town and on their way to see their sick family member.

With Amiel gone what was Rey going to do. He was too young to do most of the fun stuff in town. All he could really do was go to his secret area and his tavern room. A week shouldn't be too bad, but he was prepared to be bored.

The Sun was setting when Rey returned to the tavern. The owner grabbed a dish and placed it in front of Rey at the table. Rey tossed one silver coin to the owner and thanked him. "You seem lost, is everything alright?" The owner asked. "Yeah, just there's not much I can do. Everything is out of my control."

"Don't focus on what's out of your control. Focus on what you can do. Just because you can't do something one way doesn't mean there's no other ways to do it. You just have to experiment." Rey smiled and finished his meal, making sure to thank the owner one last time before he went upstairs to his room.

Reys room was small. It was only meant for one person so it made sense but it was small even for that. It had just enough room for a bed and a desk. There was a window as well but that was it. Rey thought about what he could do. He also wondered how Amiel and Sarah were doing. He assumed they would be at least a quarter of the way based off Amiels week time-frame. Rey set his dagger on the desk and jumped into bed. He tucked himself in as best he could and slowly drifted off to sleep. That night Rey dreamt of his past life.
