41 The Day I Fall in Love with You (1)

William kissed Elena passionately. Only after he felt her breath hitched and she hit him softly on the chest with her balled fists, he reluctantly released her.

Elena's cheeks flushed red. His lips was sweet that she couldn't help but to taste it more It was her first kiss with a man. When she was with Liu Tang, she only allowed him to pecked her cheeks.

She felt a bit awkward for a moment before her instinct took over. As William kissed her senseless, she returned the kiss in the same manner. Both of their tongues playfully teased the other, trying to pry open their mouths and invaded them with their tongues. They hold their breath and kissed for some time before Elena tried to break free. She thought she was about to die from suffocation.

Elena took a deep breath and calmed her erratic heart. She stared at the embroidery intently before she asked, "The first time you saw me? When? It should not be possible that you saw me for the first time half a year ago right?"

Elena's question was rather made sense. The size of the embroidery was 180 cm height and 100 cm width. Almost all the surface of the fabric were embroidered with different colors - green, blue, black and other colors of threads were carefully and meticulously sewn. So far, Elena didn't see any excessive threads from the embroidery. The thickness as well as the distance between threads were even and proportional. The craftsmanship of the embroidery was exquisite and definitely on professional level.

William smiled when he heard her question. He asked her back. "Why are you so sure that i've seen you more than six months ago?"

Elena rolled her eyes. He definitely knew the answer but why did he still ask her? Elena decided to play along as she explained. "This embroidery is too awesome. The embroidery is finely made and there are too many details in it. I've ever seen a professional embroidery artist who needed more than a year to complete the embroidery with the same size like yours although it was not as details yours. Even a professional need that much time so yours definitely require more time as you are also a CEO of a multinational company. Moreover, your design is more complex than the artist. Logically speaking, you will only embroider on the weekend or at any spare time you have because you won't ignore your company only to embroider this piece right?"

William smirked in amusement. His wife was too smart. She only saw some clues yet she could make her conjecture as closed as the reality. "You are right. I saw you for the very first time not half a year ago, but three years ago. I..." William began telling her the past, the day he saw her for the first time.

...

Four Years ago. Hospital, Midnight

A man was covered by blood all over his body. His white shirt were drenched until it dyed red.

The man had lost his consciousness. His face blanched white as the blood kept dripping from his head and upper chest. If someone saw around his upper left chest, there was a tiny hole that pierced through his shirt. Blood leaked from the hole and eventually kept dripping on his white shirt.

A man in white doctor gown stepped out of the ambulance as he kept pumping the bag valve mask while keeping his pace with the strecher that moved fast because the man's breath hitched more frequently and his breathing was getting weaker as the time passed by.

The medics push the strecher to the emergency room. The doctors in the emergency room directly responded as they asked about the man's vital condition. A middle aged man from five doctors present asked, "How's the condition?"

One of three medics answered the doctor. "It's very bad. A shot near the heart. The patient lost a lot of blood. The breathing hitched frequently and got weaker. Then..." He told the information about the man's vital condition to the doctors.

The doctors' expressions who listened to the answer of the medic got uglier the more they heard it. The middle aged doctor turned around and looked at the other four doctors. Then, he ordered to two young doctors he supervised. "The two of you will be my assistants. The others, please help me contact Doctor Li and Doctor Yang for surgery."

"Yes Head." The four doctors immediately execute the order. A life was hanging on a thread. A second they act faster, a second more they have to save the patient.

The doctors contacted the surgeons that their head asked them to call. Both Doctor Li and Doctor Yang rushed instantly to the operation room as they listened to the report from the doctors attentively and decided the most appropriate methods they would apply in the surgery. They went into the operating room when they saw the middle aged man stood beside the operating bed. They greeted almost simultaneously. "Head Tang."

The middle aged man, Head Tang nodded as he gravely said, "This operation is a challenging one."

The surgery started midnight and ended at dawn. Head Tang, Doctor Li, Doctor Tang as well as the others who participated in the surgery went out of the room with exhausted looks on their faces.

Head Tang was about to ask the man's family when he saw a couple and three men in front of the operating room. The couple was similar to him in term of age. They sat on the bench as the woman kept crying in the embrace of the man. The three men stood around the couple as they said some consolation words to the woman. To his surprise, the three of them had similar feature with the man he just operated for eight to nine points.

As if they sense the gaze landed on them, the five of them looked at Head Tang who was staring at them.

The woman stood up the moment she saw Head Tang and asked with hints of sadness and worry. Her eyes red and swollen as she cried too much. she asked as her voice kept shaking "Doctor, how...how is my son? Is...is he okay?"

The man stood up and embraced the woman to support her staggering body. He didn't speak but it was obvious that he had the same questions like the woman. It was also the same with the other three men. They looked at Head Tang as they waited for the answer.

Head Tang sighed helplessly. As much as he didn't want to tell the truth, he must tell them in the end. "The patient is in vegetative state. He need support machine to stay alive. We need to monitor his vital condition continously to keep him alive. I'm sorry for saying this, but the chance for someone to wake up from vegetative state is low. There are some cases where the patients in vegetative state finally awake. Do you want to keep the patient with supporting machines or not?"

The moment they heard the answer from Head Tang, the temperature plummeted down and the situation turned solemn. The woman who had just stop crying eventually cried as she lamented her son's condition. She looked at her son who was brought out from the operating room to be transferred to the ward. She wanted to touch her son but she hold herself, afraid that she would make his condition worse. "Willie, you have to wake up. No matter what happen, you have to wake up. No, you must wake up at all cost. Willie, everyone is waiting for you." Her tears kept falling down as she clasped both her hands, praying to all Gods she knew so her son would wake up soon.

The woman's wish represented the other four. They hope that William would keep fighting and wake up.
