35 It's My Mom

Saturday Night, Police Crime Unit

Huo Youyou was standing in front of the white board. He looked at the pictures pinned on it. There were lines with different colors and pattern that connected the pictures to show the chronological order.

His gaze fell on a certain pictures that was placed in the middle of the pictures. There was a photo of Zhao Shuangshuang and a man that seemed around her age. The man's hair was dyed blonde and he had a thin figure. Huo Youyou suddenly said, "He's unexpectedly the murderer. If we don't have the DNA left under the victim's nails, probably we will never find him. His disguise is unexpectedly too perfect."

Captain Ling who stood beside him nodded, "He is indeed. Even I can't determine he was the murderer after we phone him."

Huo Youyou asked, "Captain, how about the Investigation? Has the police issued the arrest warrant?"

"Yes we have. But unfortunately, he had gone overseas. Now, we can only work together with Interpol to catch him." Captain Ling answered. Then he continued, "About his disappearance, i have some doubts. First, why there is no record of him in the airport as well as electronic data about his departure? Second, if he is not alone, who could have possibly help him to remove his trace? And third, where did he go?"

Huo Youyou replied as he shook his head. "I do not know. This is the biggest question of all the questions."

Both Captain Ling and Huo Youyou sighed helplessly. They must solve this riddle as soon as possible or else, they could never imagine the consequences.

....

It was almost midnight but William was still in Elena's apartment. Elena had beckoned him to go home as William shamelessly became insensitive although he knew the meaning of her attitude.

William was still hugging her with two purpose, first, to ease her mood and second, to take advantage of her. In all honesty, he felt so good when he hugged her. He didn't want to let her go.

Elena was feeling a bit strange. It was not discomfort but rather a tingling feeling that she had never felt before, especially after he kissed her hair for many times. "Wil, why don't you go home? It's almost midnight." Elena asked as she freed herself from his embrace.

William shook his head. "I don't want to leave you alone." It was actually William who didn't want to go home but he shamelessly threw the blame to Elena.

Elena was speechless. She absolutely knew what the man was thinking. She almost smacked his head for being so shameless. "Un, what do you want now?"

William was thinking about how would it feel to stay under one roof with his girlfriend when Elena asked. He blurted otu, "I'm thinking how to eat you."

Elena became even more speechless. Holy sh*t. They are only together for one week. How could he think about it? What would he think after one month or a year?

Elena's face got heavier as she thought about it. She was exasperated that her icy, menacing voice that rarely came out from her finally unleashed. She enunciated, "How to eat me?"

William was still drown in his thought. He answered unconsciously, "Un."

Smack!!!

Elena finally release her anger by smacking his head. "Really?"

William almost instantly replied a yes. But, her smack seemed to awaken him. As he thought the answer he said, his face flushed red. Even the tip of his ears were red. "Of course no. I'm thinking about how to eat WITH you." He added one word and emphasized on it.

Elena was about to curse when she remembered how he consoled her. She took a deep breath and replied, "Oh ,okay. I have some food. What do you want to eat?" She stood up and went to the kitchen.

"All that you made is fine..." William said happily. He wanted to say more like 'even you give me poison, i'll drink it too'. But, he retained his words as it was too cheesy for her. Moreover, she had just been together with him, so he would rarely use his shameless tricks. If she was usee to it, hr would intensify his tricks.

Elena was unaware of William's thought. She opened the fridge and took ham, sausage, frozen rice, egg, vegetables and several ingredients. At first, she wanted to make porridge because it was easier to made as well as to digest. But, she decided to make her favorite food, ham fried rice. She skillfully cut and diced the ingredients.

William stood and intended to help her but he stopped himself. He just leaned on the island, cupping his chin with his hands as he looked at her intently. He saw how good Elena's knife skill was, no, good probably would not described it best-her knife skill was at expert level.

Elena was unaware of his passionate gaze as her focus was solely on the ingredients in front of her.

After she prepared the ingredients, she turned on the stove. Not only her knife skill was excellent, her cooking technique was so excellent. She flipped the rice and ingredients in the wok skillfully.

William, after staring at her was now fully immersed in his imagination. He could see how would she looked when she donned the apron. He could also imagine what it would feel to have a fantastic wife like her waiting for him to return home.

Elena looked at the William in contempt. He stared at the ceiling and opened his mouth while cupping his chin with his palms. She flickered him. "It's ready."

William returned to his sense. The smell of the fried rice that was served before his eyes made him gulped impatiently. Without waiting for her, he scooped the rice to his mouth.

William closed his eyes as he savored the fried rice he ate right now because it was too delicious. The flavor was balance that he could taste both sweet and savory taste. The ingredients didn't clash to each other, instead, it complimented each other. It was the best fried rice he ate in his life, even better than his mother's or grandmother's. As expected my wife!

Well, William decided to use wife instead of girlfriend because he felt, the title of girlfriend was like an insult to her extraordinary wifey skill. Moreover, she would definitely become his wife sooner or later. So, calling her wife is acceptable right? Just count it as a practice to familiarize him with marriage life. "It's the best fried rice i've ever eaten in my life. Where did you get the recipe?"

Elena smiled when she heard his compliment. Then, after she heard his question, a flashed of sadness passed through her eyes. "It's my mom."

William obviously saw the sadness in her eyes. He cursed himself for being so impulsive although it was true that he was indeed curious about the inventor of the recipe. His head hung down as he said, "Sorry."

Elena understood what he meant. So, she replied as she smiled faintly. "That's fine. You don't need to feel sorry." Elena decided to ask another question to relieve his mood. "Where will go dating tomorrow?"

The word 'dating' was like an energizer to William. He looked at her with his shining eyes. "I'll keep it as a secret. You just need to follow me."
