52 I Have no Home

The next day, Huang Mochen a.k.a Little Mo returned to the playground he was at yesterday. He waited there right in the morning till evening so he could find the little figure he suspected behind his online post last night, but he couldn't even see a glimpse of her figure.

The sun almost set and disappeared from the horizon. The bright blue sky gradually got dimmer and went almost entirely dark.

Little Mo had waited for hours but the little figure he wanted to say was not there. He was bothered by what had happened last night. He clearly didn't offend someone so how could someone did that mischievous deed to him? Last night, he pondered for a long time before a certain little figure emerged from his mind. Adding the fact that she said a threat to him, he could only think of her.

But, considering her age, such a feat was not something he thought she was capable of. Hacking was not something that even adult was capable of, much less a young girl under ten years old like her. Based on this fact alone, he rejected such conclusion although there was a very tiny inkling about her being the real culprit behind what had happened last night.

So, he lingered around to make sure she was not really the one because if she was, how could his little heart accepted such terrifying fact? An eight years old girl could already hack on someone's device? She would definitely be included as super duper genius and would have already known by the world outside.

Seeing the sky had completely dark, Little Mo sighed helplessly. He could not see that little girl today.

From that day afterwards, Little Mo would come to the playground in his spare time, hoping to see the little girl at that time.

He persistently did that for almost two weeks. On the last day he decided to stop doing this, the tiny figure finally shown herself. He walked over and wanted to berate her for being mischievous that made his reputation among his peers freely fell down.

Well, the day after the post was made, his friends as well as his colleagues began to call him Little Mo. It was a contrast nickname to his giant, bear like stature.

It would not bother him so much when that nickname only among his friends circle, but, his higher up, even his stern father began calling him Little Mo because he thought such endearment was quiet pleasing to his ears. Not only that, even his subordinates would talk about it behind his back.

Whenever they saw him, they would ask the same questions. "Little Mo, do you need me to comfort you?"

On the first day, he was quiet fine with such question. But, the next day onwards, he was so incessant by that question that he really wanted to smack a little figure's head despite not knowing whether she was really the one who did that or not. His reasoning ability clouded by his resentment that he thought she was really the one behind that online post. His reputation was destroyed by that online post!

So, when he saw that little figure, he hurriedly walked to her and wanted to vent the resentment caused by her mischievousness. He had already had many words in his mind to be spoken out. His expression darkened as the little figure only walked past him dazedly to the place under the sliding. "Hey brat. Come here." He spoke a bit louder to got her attention. As what he had expected, her figure slowly turned her head. Her expression was sad with a tinge of hopelessness in her eyes.

Little Mo wanted to speak more but his words trapped in his throat the moment he saw her expression. He felt a pang of pain in his heart when he saw her. His heart softened as he sat under the sliding and patted the empty space beside him, beckoning her to sit beside him.

The little figure was obediently followed his order that it made Little Mo stunned. Was this brat this obedient? Considering how they met and how she could be the suspect behind the online post, he would never think about this outcome. Although he had just met her once, he could see that she was someone who was unbridled and like to do everything in her own ways. After she sat, he asked softly, "What happen?"

The little girl didn't answer.

Little Mo tried to coax her, so he said, "You can tell me your problem. Probably I'll br able to help you."

Still the little girl didn't answer. Her empty, hopelessness eyes slowly got red when she heard his offer. Tears started falling down to her cheeks. She silently cried. There was no sound coming out from her.

Little Mo flustered when he saw her suddenly cried. He had never been in this situation so he was completely helpless. Should i hugged her? He thought that way. But, what if someone saw him as a molester? a pedophile? She was not his relative. She was a completely stranger to him. Those two things were already enough to make everyone think to that direction.

The longer he thought about it, the more he confused. He looked down at the girl beside him. Her tears that kept falling made his heart ache. He really wanted to comfort her so his body reflectively hugged her. Yet, the moment he realized that, she was already in his embrace. But he could care less. What he had to do now was to comfort her like what an elder brother would do to his crying sister.

The little girl clutched his shirt and drenched his clothes with her tears. Then, she wailed pitifully and sobbed as if the words had ended. She was no longer cried silently, instead, her cry got louder when she was Little Mo embrace. "Uncle Qi leave me. He leaves me like what dad and mom did to me. What should i do? what should i do?" Suddenly she spoke between her sobs. Little Mo finally knew why she cried all of sudden. Then, he asked further, "What happen to your Uncle Qi?"

The little girl froze as his question returned her to the reality. She wished this reality was just a nightmare although she knew it was not.

She whispered in a voice that could barely heard by anyone. Fortunately, Little Mo was a good listener so he could hear her answer. "Uncle Qi passed away." Then she didn't speak anymore.

Little Mo fully understood what she was feeling after he heard her answer. He behaved the same, even worse than her when his beloved grandma passed away one day after he celebrated his tenth birthday. He was just silent as he really had no idea about what to do.

Both of them sat silently until the sky almost completely dark. Little Mo had let her go from his consolation hug as he found the girl had no intention to go back home as she didn't move even though it was already evening. "Why don't you go home? Everyone is surely looking for you."

The little girl shook her head. She didn't cry anymore but her eyes were red and puffed. Her voice was raspy after crying for so long. "I have no home and everyone will not look for me."

What she spoke was the truth. Uncle Qi was the only one who cared about her. He was unlike the other from his household who neglected and ignored her as if she was not exist. When she arrived for the very first time in Uncle Qi's house, she could clearly felt some animosity from them that was directed to her. She didn't knew why they acted that way so she ignored them. She only listened to Uncle Qi as he was her parents trusted friend.

Not only that, they also made fun of her and incessantly insulted her when Uncle Qi was not at home about how pitiful she was and how everyone didn't want her even her parents leave her. Whenever their hurtful words came out, she would go to this playground to console herself. The only one who would look for her was Uncle Qi, there was no one other than him. So, Uncle Qi was no longer around, would they even bother to think about her?

They hated her to the bone so they would definitely expelled her from their house after Uncle Qi funeral ended. So, did she have a home?
