32 Elena's Past (2)

Little Ji Eun walked to her mommy coquettishly as she spoke with her tender, childish voice. "Mommy, are you back?" Then she took the bag from her mommy hand and went to her parents bedroom. She left her father alone.

Ji Eun daddy was incensed by his daughter action. 'She leave him? Okay, that is fine. He will not help her anymore.' He spoke inwardly as he began trying to figure out the solution of his predicament.

The woman didn't reject Ji Eun's help. She just stared at her husband in anger. She wanted to berated him but she couldn't when she looked at his pitiful expression. "Stop giving me such look. What's wrong is wrong."

Actually, she always knew when the pair of father and daughter did something she forbid. Simply to say, they could never hide their doings from her. Although she admitted that she was angry with their quirks, she couldn't completely lash out her anger to them. They were her husband and daughter, the love of her life. They would always become her soft spots and it would never change.

But still, she would never let them go unscathed.

The woman pointed her husband. "You, go cook." She paused and turned herself around., looking at the direction of their bedroom. She called as she enunciated. "Park Ji Eun!"

Little Ji Eun was walking forth and back in her parents room, trying to find solution for her mommy's anger. Should she act cute? should she brown-nose her? Or should she just admit her wrongdoings?

She was totally nervous because every act she did would result the same - her mother would still be angry.

She wanted to pretend to sleep when she heard her mommy loud roar. She timidly walked out of the bedroom and went to where her mother was.

The woman was standing in front of them. She crossed her hands on her chest as she stared at her husband and daughter. " What did you do?"

The pair of daddy and daughter stood side by side. Their heads hung down. They were not brave enough to look at the ruler of their house. They replied almost simultaneously. "We are wrong."

The aggrieved expression of both daddy and daughter extinguished almost all her anger. She felt that she wanted to embrace them at that moment but she quickly put that thought back to the corner of her mind. She should not be soft in this situation. "Park Woo Sung, you'll be responsible for household chores." After the mommy gave her husband punishment, she shifted her line of sight to her daughter. "And you Park Ji Eun, you are not allowed to play outside for a week. You will learn Chinese words from me and your father."

Little Ji Eun and her father replied dejectedly.

"Yes wife."

"Yes mom."

The woman walked closer and embraced them. "Hah. You all will not repeat it right?"

Little Ji Eun and her daddy, Park Woo Sung nodded. They were silent for a minute before Park Woo Sung released himself from her embrace. "Chung Ah, how is it?"

The woman, Lim Chung Ah answered, "It's good."

Park Woo Sung knew what she meant. He just nodded understandably.

Little Ji Eun didn't know what her parents talked about. She looked up and innocently asked, "Mommy, daddy, what is good?"

Both Park Woo Sung and Lim Chung Ah patted Little Ji Eun's head. Because they didn't want their daughter to asked more, Park Woo Sung smartly steered their conversation to another direction. "My little baby, do you want to go to amusement park this coming saturday?"

Little Ji Eun's attention instantly shifted to her daddy's lure. Her eyes lit up in anticipation. She nodded her head vigorously. "Yes daddy. Promise?" Elena outstretched her pinky finger for a promise. Park Woo Sung laughed as he intertwined his pinky finger to her. Then, Little Ji Eun looked up at her mommy. "Mommy?" Lim Chung Ah giggled. She did the same thing like what the pair of daddy and daughter do. "Promise."

Little Ji Eun clapped her hands. She spoke for assurance. "Don't break it yeah?"

"Yeah."

"Okay."

Little Ji Eun grinned as she walked to her bedroom. She sang ABC song cheerfully.

Park Woo Sung and Lim Chung Ah smiled at their daughter behavior. "Hubby, what did our Ji Eun do when i haven't returned home?"

Park Woo Sung coughed. He answered truthfully. "She played at the rice field."

Lim Chung Ah nodded. "Did you curse in front of her when you saw her earlier?"

"Um... wait for a moment." Park Woo Sung pondered to recollect whether he cursed in front of his baby daughter or not. Then, he exclaimed. "Holy sh*t."

Lim Chung Ah face-palmed. As expected, her husband did. "Next time, do not say vulgar words in front of her. Do you want our baby daughter become a boorish woman?"

Park Woo Sung instantly rejected such idea. "No. Definitely not. I promise that today will be the last day."

"Promised?"

"Yeah." Park Woo Sung assured her. Something dawned in his mind as he asked, "Darling, why do you know that i curse in front of our Ji Eun?"

Lim Chung Ah rolled her eyes. It was something obvious. Why did he ask? She replied, "You are impulsive. When you look at her, the words automatically came out from your mouth right? Moreover, i've been with you for almost ten years. It is impossible for me to miss your habits."

Park Woo Sung was speechless. He admitted that he was impulsive but he would only become so when it came to his wife and daughter.
