16 A Brilliant Move

All the members of Park Household sat in the living room after a sumptuous breakfast. William was still focus in his embroidery when he suddenly heard Mother Park taunting sentence. "Willie is a weak. You are not charming enough. It is almost half a year since your plan started. But you see, there is no result at all." Mother Park shook her head helplessly. With William look and charm, it should be easy to entice any woman. But, the reality was cruel. Her son's charm was not enough to attract the woman that her son like. What a pity.

Mother Park was both right and wrong. If the woman that her son fancy was like any other women, she would definitely be trapped by his charm. But, Elena was not like any other woman. She would not fall for him with only external virtues.

Thomas clearly knew his third brother effort these past months. He wanted to defend his brother so he said. "It's not about Willie's charm mom. Elena is just too tough to conquer."

"Huh. No matter the reason is, third bro is still unable to make her fall in love with him." Liam spoke disdainfully. His elder brothers had just said that his charm was lacking but is it really only him? His third brother was also incapable in attracting the woman he fond after months of work. In other words, his third brother was just the same like him.

William put his embroidery on the table as he spoke. "Second brother, it's not to conquer her, but it is to make her fall for me as how i fall for her. And Liam, just wait for tomorrow. She'll be my girlfriend."

"Are you sure?" Mother Park was doubtful. Why did her son suddenly said so? Moreover, his tone was full of assurance. He was so confident as if everything was on his grasp.

Not only Mother Park, the others were also doubt with William's statement. Even Thomas who assisted his younger brother for the past five months couldn't help but cast him doubtful looks.

Sensing all the doubtful looks, William explained. "I propose an agreement to her."

"Agreement?" Liam asked as he was puzzled by William's answer.

"Yes." William confirmed. "On friday night, i propose a deal to her."

"Woahhhh..." Both Mother Park and Liam was astounded - their reaction was not for no reason. William was a genius. He was an expert in tactics. This skill of his was the reason why the Park Corporation could stand amidst the severe economic recession occurred in Z County several years ago. Whenever he wanted to get something, he would plan for it very carefully, calculating all the variables and possibilities available as well as the error margin so he could get it effectively and efficiently. He was like a lion, silently observed the prey, waiting for the right time before it pounced to the prey aggressively.

Honestly, William would never bother to make a deal with his prey, but it seemed Elena was an exception. She was a special prey so special treatment was necessary.

Everyone understood his reasoning. By making an a deal, both William and Elena would at least has a connection between them although it was not like friendship or family. And surely, during the time of the agreement, William would definitely seize the chance to make her familiar with his presence and to lower her resistance to him. Simply, it could be said that he roped her before he attracted her. Gabriel asked to confirm. "So you make an agreement to make her your girlfriend?"

William nodded. "Yes."

"Why did you suddenly propose a deal? Why didn't you make it months ago?" Grandma Park asked in confusion. If he could do it since months ago, why did he just make it several days ago?

William smiled. He explained. "If i could make it months ago, i won't delay it for so long."

"So why do you suddenly make it?"

"Because Elena started to get suspicious." William replied.

Liam propped his chin with his hand. "So, because she get suspicious of you, you finally decided to change your tactic?"

William didn't confirm Liam's conjecture immediately. He took the cup from the table and sipped the tea. Then he nodded. "Yes. Elena is smart woman so i think she has already realized my advancements. It's even more possible that she has realized it months ago."

Everyone nodded in agreement. With Elena's capability, Williams speculation was highly possible. She was too smart for her own good.

Then, William continued. "Moreover, i'm afraid that Elena will reject my advancement. As you know, she had a bad experience with a man. As the result, she will be extra vigilant with men. The first time i saw her, she was so hostile that i do not know what should i do. So, i use the last five months to let her familiar with my presence as well as to interact with her more. She is straight forward and hates to be deceived. If she know that i have ulterior motive to her while i keep pretending to be clueless, she will think that i'm a hypocrite. If that happen, my hardwork for months will go waste."

"Ooo..." Everyone understood William's reasoning. So, the five months was used to familiarize her with his existence before he bind her with their agreement. What a brilliant move! as expected their cunning Willie, he was so good that it made them wanted to give him a standing ovation.
