Chapter 4- Anamarie Cox

After saying bye to each other I went back to my room and comfortably sat down on my bed. For some reason, Ed wasn't there in the room. Come to think of it I haven't had many interactions with him since past few days, I wonder what he has been up to.

Now it's finally time to see if I really did get something or not. I unlocked my phone and saw that there were two notifications over there. The first notification is from the app but it didn't mention anything, it was just blank.

Huh, it's blank? Do I have to click on it to see what it's about? Without much thought, I clicked on the app. When the app opened this screen was displayed.

So I guess this app really is real because there was no way of them knowing that I saved the girl or not, but now the problem is how would they send me the rewards? Will they give me the money in cash but how would they do that? Is someone from the organization going to come here and deliver the money to me by himself, but I don't think they would reveal themselves just like that for some petty money. I guess I will have to just wait and see what will happen next.

When I saw the second notification it made me really happy and it also somewhat horrified me at the same time. The second notification was from my bank. It told me that 1000 Zils have been transferred to my account. What made me happy was that now I was sure that I can earn money by smoothly finishing the easy quests. However, what horrified me was that if in case I am not able to finish the quest then the punishment will also be real.

After confirming that the app was the real deal, I opened the app to properly see what more was there other than quests in it. After opening the app, there was a page with four different buttons.

-Shop

-Quests

-Help

For some reasons, which I don't know yet, shop and quests were grayed out. I think The quest option was not available because I didn't have any for the moment and the shop option was not available because I haven't unlocked it yet, most probably.

So there were only two options available now which were status and help. I clicked on the status button and which displayed some stats after opening the page.

'It seems like this app is level based which I can only increase by completing these quests' Kyle thought as he was observing his stats.

I guess this is all the status provides. After going back to the main page I clicked on the help button. The help page looks like a chatting app, there was a chat log with a box provided to type in under it and a send button next to the text box.

Perfect I had a very important question to ask them. By using the chat option to ask them, I asked "If you keep sending me money like this, without any reason wouldn't it get suspicious?"

The reply almost came instantly, "Mr. Kyle doesn't have to worry about it because the organization will take care of all those matters."

After hearing this, I felt more reassured because I can now earn money and spend money however I want to.

The next day I was woken up by Ed in a very disturbing manner. Most probably he came back in the morning only.

"HEY KYE WAKE UP OR ELSE YOU WILL BE LATE FOR YOUR MORNING LESSONS!!" Ed shouted nonstop which finally woke me up but it also irritated me to some extent.

"Aah geez, why are you shouting in my ear, don't you know it's not polite to do that?" I said in a very irritated tone.

"Early morning my a**, do you even know what time it is right now? I will tell you it's already 8:30 AM right now and you only have half an hour left until the morning written assignment starts."

"Oh crap! I am gonna get late for the test. Why didn't you wake me up before?" I hastily got out of my bed and started to get ready. By the time I was done it was already 8:50 am. Since the dorm was in the university grounds I somehow managed to reach the hall in time and finish my test before the time limit.

"Kye!" someone shouted from behind. As I looked back, I saw Ed chasing up to me after I got out of the test hall. "What do you want?" I asked him as he caught up to me.

"Hehe, nothing I was just saying this time the History test was so hard that I just gave up and slept for half the test."

"Is that it?" I asked him indifferently.

"Nah, of course not. So did you see that new girl who was sitting in the front? Damn she is so hot that most of the boys were drooling on their test papers, hehe "

"A new girl? I didn't really take notice of her. Is she a foreigner or a Zercian, because by what you said about most of the boys drooling at her, there must be something special about her to be able to achieve something like that?" I asked him with a slight hint of surprise in my tone.

"Umm, well it's not like I do know about it but I can sense something from her which makes me feel like she is not from Zercen." he said in an unsure tone.

"Yeah, alright," I said while making it sound like I wasn't much interested in her.

While we were walking in the corridor Ed shook me again and excitedly pointed at someone "Bro Kye, look-look that is the girl I was talking about".

I made my gaze follow the position where Ed's finger was pointing and when I saw the girl who he was so excited about, I became totally dumbfounded. I kept on staring at her without being able to look away.

"Hehe, Kye look at you how you are staring at her, didn't I tell you that she is a total beauty." Ed spoke to me but I just ignored him.

Maybe because the girl realized that someone was staring at her she so looked at me and our eyes met each other. We both looked at each other without saying for a few seconds and we both said the same thing at the same time. "You study at Clear Water University too?!"

Well, who else could it be except the girl I saved yesterday, Anamarie Cox.

"Hehe, I didn't expect Mr. Savior to be in this university too." Anamarie chuckled.

"Could you please not call me that?" I said with a bitter smile "and even I didn't expect you to join the same university as me, much less I didn't even expect to ever meet you again."

"Umm do you both know each other?" Ed asked while looking at us both with a confused expression.

"Yeah we do. We met each other in the same cafe yesterday and he was kind enough to returned me my phone which I forgot on the counter. Isn't that right Kyle?" Anamarie said while hiding the truth, which makes sense since which girl would be willing to tell someone that they were about to be tainted by some thugs.

"Yeah, of course, young lady Anamarie is right." I chuckled.

"Can you please not call me young lady? It feels like you are already distancing yourself when we just met. Just call me Ann hehe" She answered laughingly.

"Alright-alright," I said while letting out a little laugh.

"It's about to be lunch soon, so do you want to come and have lunch with me since I just came here and I don't know many restaurants here, and I don't even have a single person I know here?" She asked while looking at me.

"Oh sure" I agreed to her request without even thinking much about it because who wouldn't wanna have lunch with a beauty?

"Ed, do you wanna come with us too?" I asked him because I think if it would be just us two many people might misunderstand our relationship.

"Oh no, I think I had some project to finish so I won't be able to accompany you two, hehe," he said with a teasing tone and making sure that only I heard his laugh in the end. After saying this he quickly left not even letting me stop him.

"I guess it's just us two now in the end," I said to Ann with a bitter smile.

"Hehe, I don't mind since I am already used to it," Ann said to with a smile.

'Yeah, you might be fine but this loner for life isn't' I thought to myself.
