Chapter 2 - Suspicious App

I unlocked my phone to check what exactly was this new application about? After scrolling down a few times in the phone menu, I finally found the new app which was somehow mysteriously installed. It had a gold coin with a pitch black background as its icon but the weird part was that it didn't have a name to it.

'Hmm, how suspicious... which app doesn't have a name to it? Maybe it's just a trap which contains a virus in it.' is what I thought so I tried to delete the app a few times but I just wasn't able to do it which only happens when it is an in-built app. After trying to delete it for more than like 5 minutes nothing happened so I just gave up. 'Should I try opening the app or should I just leave it like that...' this was the thought which kept on coming to me but at the end curiosity finally took over me and I clicked the app open.

After the app opened what greeted was a question "Would you like to be the richest person alive?" and there were two options under it which were yes or no. I mean isn't it obvious like who doesn't always dream about becoming super rich and buying whatever you like? Without much thought, I chose yes and clicked the continue button.

The next page was just like the last one with the same options but with a different question. This time it was kind of a weird question "Would you risk your life in order to accomplish that goal?". Well, I anyways didn't believe in this app so I just chose yes without much thought and clicked on the continue button, but this time instead of going to next page a warning popped out. The warning said "Please confirm your choice because you will not be able to turn back after this." I hesitated for a second over there but since I didn't believe in this application from the very start, I just confirmed my choice and continued.

What happened next completely stunned me, on the screen, there was a short message which said "Thank you, Mr. Kyle Adams, for forming a contract with our organization. From here onwards we will be giving you quests which will reward you with money and Tycoon Points(TP), however, if the host fails to finish the missions within the time limit the host will be punished. The organization believes in equality, for example, the harder the quest, the better the rewards will be and upon failure, worse the punishment will be."

'Ughh what's wrong with this app and how the fu*k do they know my name? In addition, what is all this bulls**t about contract, quests, reward and punishment?' This is what Kyle thought after reading the message and chose to believe that this is just someone probably trying to mess with him.

After realizing that someone was most probably trying to mess with him. Kyle kept his phone back in his pocket and right after that Matt brought 7 bottles of beer and some snacks to the table he was sitting at.

"Thanks again Matt" Kyle showed his gratitude to Matt after he placed the beer and snacks on the table.

"No problem" Matt just simply acknowledged his gratitude and returned back to his counter and leaving Kyle to himself.

After about one and a half hour, I came out of the restaurant feeling a little drunk. As I stepped outside a small night wind passed by which made me shiver a bit since I was just wearing summer clothes, but I still made my way to the dorm.

The road to the dorm was well lit by street lamps which was very convenient to the people who lived around here and especially for the female students who lived in the university dorm because no thugs would try to do something stupid where it is too bright because anyone could easily spot them, unless the thugs had their brain filled with grass.

The journey from Matt's restaurant to my room was pretty much smooth so I reached my room in about 15 minutes. When I entered my room it was pretty dark. I looked around the room and saw that Ed was sleeping comfortably in his bed and which made sense since it was already past midnight. So to not disturb his sleep I slowly and silently made my way to my bed and laid myself down comfortably without changing my clothes since I felt very tired.

The next day I woke up pretty late since it was already almost noon. When I woke up I felt a bit dizzy maybe because of the hangover from last night drinking. I looked around the room but couldn't find any traces of Ed being in the room. Well, maybe he is already gone looking for girls to hook up with or something. Yeah, Ed is a typical university student who is a huge pervert which can only think about girls all the time but sadly he has never succeeded in losing his virginity till now.

Hmm, I have nothing to do today since it's a Sunday and today I don't even have to go for my shift. I guess I will just go out and look around the city who knows I might find something interesting to do. After doing all my usual morning activities such as brushing my teeth and washing myself up, I wore a clean set of clothes which were a black jacket with a white t-shirt in the inside and dark blue jeans. After getting ready I got out of my room. When it comes to my looks, well neither am I too handsome nor am I too ugly, I am just someone who is pleasant to other's eyes and I usually don't stand out from the crowd.

It has already been an hour since Kyle went out to look for something interesting but unfortunately, he couldn't find anything interesting to do.

'Damn it, why can't I find something interesting to do? The city is all the same, everyone is busy with their own things such as someone is out there dating with his girlfriend or someone is eating in a restaurant or doing something else.

Thinking about restaurants, I just realized I haven't eaten anything since last night so I went to a nearby low-end restaurant since I have never been able to afford to eat in those expensive restaurants. I went to an empty table and sat down over there. I ordered a cheap meal which cost around 10 Zinkas which was fish and fried rice since I am kinda tight on money now.

While waiting for the food I went through my phone and spotted the app from last night. 'Hmm thinking about this app, didn't it say something like giving me quests and stuff but till now I haven't received anything. I guess this thing really is just a prank by someone but who would prank me with this since I only know a few people in the university.

After eating I kept on aimlessly going around different places and taking short breaks to rest. Before I realized it was already dusk so I planned on going back to the dorm. When I was going through a park to reach my dorm I heard some weird noises coming from the other side of the park. 'It's weird, by the sounds which are coming it feels like there are people bullying someone. I guess there is no harm in going and taking a quick look at what's going on.' When I approached the scene, I saw two people bullying a girl. 'The girl also looked like a university student with black hair which reached till her waist. I could only see her from the side but I was pretty sure that she must be groundbreaking beauty. I could see a little of her jawline from where I was standing but I believe she must be really pretty.

"Hey, beauty don't you know you shouldn't be walking alone at night like this?" one of the thugs said with a smirk on his face.

"Yeah yeah beauty, you should just come with us. We will take proper care of you tonight." said the second thug with a pervert look on his face.

When I looked at that girl again I saw that she looked really scared and anyone could tell just by looking at her that there is no way she could defend herself from them. 'It's quite unfortunate that a beauty like her will be tainted by them tonight' I thought as I was turning away from the scene. I am not a fighter of justice who would put his life in danger whenever I see someone doing something wrong. As I was going to take my first step out of the scene my phone sent me a notification.

"Ding-Ding".
