1 THIS IS MY STORY - MELANIE SANTIAGO

Years ago before the war broke out, before chaos was running our lives, our home was beautiful and peaceful. The lives we lived was a dream. My home is what we use to call the United States of America. We were Americans, freedom is what we had, what we were use to and then in one moment my life changed forever, a war broke out. The war wasn't with another country, it was fought right in our backyard. The war was fought against our very own government, who sought to end our freedom, who sought to oppress us. The war was known as the freedom war. The freedom war was fought between the military and us the people. We the people who chose freedom over slavery, freedom over prison. The freedom war was bloody and deadly, millions of people lost their lives. In the end we lost our government won. The leaders who fought against the government were killed. Our government is now called the Republic. My name is Melanie Santiago this is my story of how I became Rebel leader.
