"This is getting old, 8 years and I feel like I been through this countless times.
(Just why did I think that he will politely follow me?)

"Forget it lets just finish this damn job"
I stop my mind from running wild and continue my job as I kneel down to have a look at the ground I see what I'm searching for. There I see a footprint of the man I been chasing, been quite recent I know I'm on the right tracks.They lead to a cave so I take a small breather.
"Why can't I get some decent job one's in a while?" I complain to myself.
(Shit should I have listened to that old geezer owning the brothel if I had I'll be probably living a more fullfilling life, but instead I have to track down and capture people owning huge debts).
"Why did I want to be a mercenary again?...right I have no other options left"

I'm a Mercenary and my current job is to escort a man that owes quite a debt.
Opening the letter of the job I reread the details:
Clint: Relic's Guild
Job:
Escort sir Tomas back to the branch office located in Eldersquare within 3 days.
Details:
Sir Tomas owes an explanation and compensation to us.
Bring him by all means alive.

Closing the letter I remember that my job is to 'bring' the man named Tomas alive by 'all means'...
"Ohh right the tracks!!"

SLAP!
I slap my face two times to get me out of my stupor.
.....
I first found the man named Tomas at a inn located in the outskirts of the city probably looking for a wagon to leave to a far off town. Thinking that my job was going quite smoothly I was caught off guard when the man(Tomas) notice me approaching him and takes immediate action. Tomas pulls a cloud potion of his robes and throws it at the floor of the inn and quickly runs off.
The inn got completely covered in a white cloud making it impossible to see through. Shouts and screans broke out as the few poeple in the inn never expected white smoke to cover there sense to see. While everything was cover in white smoke one could only imagine the hard time I had just to get out .
While on my way out I bump into chairs and tables until I managed to exit the inn. Ones out off the inn I saw Tomas going into the forest. I ran to give chase.
Tomas starts running even faster than before. For being an old man he was swift on his feet
I thought my mind was playing tricks on me but found on my way of giving chase a potion bottle on the ground.
Giving it a quick look I come to a a realization that it was haste potion! Who drinks it will have a noticeable boost in reflexes and there speed will increase depending on the quality. Giving it a quick though it must be of low quality cause a men with debt won't have expensive stuff. Opening my small bag I took out a potion and drank it, if Tomas saw it he will be surprised that the mercenary also drank a haste potion.
After a few minutes of chase the effects of the potion ran out and only fatigue remains. Thats when I find the last tracks of Tomas that lead to this cave.
"Well I don't think an old man like you can keep running so let's make my life more easier an get out of the cave!!" I shout at the entrance of the cave.
...
"Come on out old Tomas you only need to follow me and pay your debts is it that hard?! Don't you have better things to do than running around?!" I continue to shout.
...
"Fine then, you ask for it, don't say I didn't worn you!"
(I've wasted a whole two days to find him and also a haste potion to not lose him in the forest and I will only get 15 grand coopers... just one haste potion cost 5 grand coopers and my living for 3 days another 5...shit this job sucks!
I will try and force my way to a team again so I can get better paying jobs than this.)
Checking my all reliable dagger I cautiously go inside the cave.
Not the place I like to visit but my job being what it is makes me go to dark places such as this.
"Just what did I do to get so unlucky?"
