6 Disagreement

"Did any of you guys have any recollection of what happened? And how did we end up in this room in the first place...?" Sophia asked the group a multitude of questions all at once.

"I'm not sure what happened exactly; I just realized that I couldn't breathe all of a sudden, and then I had an excruciating headache, and the next thing I knew it, I woke up here." Bob stammered a response to the group.

"He's right, that's all I remember as well; I blacked out instantly as soon as I got that headache as it was too painful for me to bear. And the next thing I knew it. I was here." Lisa said, wiping away the tears on her face with her long sleeves.

Since hearing all of this nonsense about kidnappers and other shenanigans that they had theorized. Bryan's conjecture about them not knowing a single thing came true.

Bryan thought it was a shame, that his attempt to obtain useful information from them was null, and so he rather blurted out the conclusions he had before coming here. Since, aside from waking up here in this dark room, these people are totally oblivious to what just happened.

"Didn't you hear that unfathomable voice talk telepathically to us? Do you think that it's God's voice or someone else's?" Bryan shared his thoughts and looked each of them in the eyes one by one to express his utmost solemnity.

Hearing Bryan's sudden announcement they were all taken aback. As the whole group went into a pin-drop silence as they scrutinized Bryan's words endlessly, trying to determine whether they were the truth or whether it was a sick joke all along.

"You're right, this sort of magical stuff can only happen if God is involved," Lisa said fearfully, and gradually believing Bryan's wild idea after giving it careful consideration.

"I don't think God would do that; why would he want to wipe out mankind as a whole?" Bob shakes his head in denial, but it's obvious from the way he speaks, that he's uncertain of his answer.

"It has happened before, mentioned in countless tales, and there's no knowing whether it will happen again. Whether it's really God or someone else. Because of him! We appeared here in an instant, it's like we were being teleported!"

"Bryan is correct; no one else has this kind of power but God. I'm an atheist, but I'm beginning to rethink my views as well. Who says God isn't real? And he's nothing more than a figment of our imagination? If this not definitive proof that God exists, then I don't know what is." Sophia immediately backed up Bryan's response, as she looked at the group dead in the eye seriously.

Based on what happened, she's eighty percent sure that Bryan's conjecture is correct. If not. Then how the hell are they suppose to explain the supernatural abilities that were cast on them.

Bryan's conjecture is completely insane if you think about it! If this was before the catastrophe, she wouldn't even dare to believe it. Thinking that this guy is absolutely crazy! But after that incident, she's not sure what to believe. Yet Bryan's theory is somewhat plausible, particularly if the subject was about God himself.

"Doesn't that mean that everyone else died except us if God truly decided he'd wipe out the rest of humanity?!" Mark shouted to the group in a hasty manner.

"That's correct and wrong at the same time," Bryan stated confidently.

"What do you mean? Bryan, just spit it out already!" Hearing the confidence in Bryan's voice. Mia immediately responded to him.

"If we were kept alive and was teleported here, then it would also follow that others are all alive and is in a similar situation just like us..." Bryan paused for a moment to think deeper.

"What exactly are you trying to say, Bryan?"

"Consider this. God declared that he had given mankind a fighting chance of survival. I'm sure those who were unfortunate enough not to make the trip here have died. I don't believe those headaches aren't going to kill you. It's enough to knock you out! People with frail and feeble bodies, especially the elderly, must have perished from that excruciating pain."

Bryan felt that this assumption that he had given is too painful to even think about it. But in this situation, he couldn't afford to lose his composure in this situation as doing so, would make the team lose their composure as well.

"Bryan, do you have no remorse? You're not able to think positively, are you? We're just stuck in this place. Isn't your assumption a bit too improbable?" Hearing what Bryan had said, Mia retorted vehemently. Thinking that if what he said was true then hundreds of millions of people would have perished in succession.

"Perhaps. But if it was me doing this, then I'll also weed out the weak from the strong, to remove unnecessary burdens," Bryan said in certainty.

After he stopped speaking, there was nothing but silence. Bryan, who wore a solemn look, was the center of attention. The atmosphere in the room grew bleak as Bryan's doubts became more difficult to ignore. Bryan had a fair argument, no matter how rude he sounded.

"What should we do now?" Sophia expressed her concern.

"What are our alternatives? All we have to do now is to wait, and hopefully, we'll be able to get out of here safely." Bryan consoled her and assured her that it would be fine and that everyone here will get out of here safely.

"Are you saying... we're all going to lay here in this room and die? Is that what you're saying!?" Hearing what Bryan said, Mark went nuts and screamed directly at Bryan's face.

His disrespectful behavior along with his screaming at Bryan's face, immediately made the blood on Bryans's body rushed into his forehead and causing it to pop out a vein in anger.

He was already on edge before and seeing that someone was extremely rude to him, made the final straw that broke the camel's back and causing him to become enraged.

"This room is empty except you guys! With the windows are barred shut, with the walls surrounding us; so tell me what exactly can you do!? Speak up, Mark!" Bryan came to a halt and glared at Mark. His enraged figure along with his towering stature immediately puts the others on edge.

Bryan looked down at Mark in rage. Undoubtedly, Mark is somewhat tall among his peers, but when standing next to Bryan. He's was only at the shoulder-length.

The rest of the group is afraid and terrified of what is going to happen. As they all stared at the tall figure in their midst. The atmosphere in the room got tenser by the second. As they were wondering who could stop this guy if he really fights Mark.

The group all knew Mark couldn't handle this guy, to begin with. Due to the fact of the vast differences between them. Either by his weight class or his height. It's a completely unfair fight. If Mark really continues his disrespectful behavior, then who knows what might happen.

The room fell silent, but fortunately, their fears were unfounded as Bryan only continued with his reply.

"I'm not some superhuman with the strength to break down that door. I'm just trying to live my life like everyone else. Why do you direct your rage at me when I wasn't the one who confined you here? Aside from waiting, I'm open to any plans." Bryan appeared to lose control for a brief moment before calming down.

Hearing those words, Mark inwardly sighed in his heart and expressed his sincere apology.

"Please accept my apologies; I'm sorry for snapping at you like that; I'm stressed out about this whole ordeal; I hope you're not mad at me." Mark took a step back at the same time bringing his hand up.

"It's cool. We're going through the same thing. It's good to let off some steam now and then. And excuse me for losing control earlier, it wasn't my intention." Bryan replied.
