1 Prologue

This is a bloody mistake.

This shouldn't have happened in our reunion.

This is all my fault.

These three sentences drummed in my head as I run carefully, without trying to make any sounds to avoid alarming the others. "Think. Think. Use your head!"

I tried to beg my brain to cooperate with me but after all the plans I made on the previous rounds, I can't seem to think of another.

With all the stress, anxiety and fear, All that my mind could think of was different scenarios of my death. There's a very low chance of surviving, Why do i have to try so hard? Maybe I...

Maybe I should just die.

I found myself in a daze as my eyes spotted a sharp and broken wooden leg of a table, lying in the corner of where I am hiding at. I grabbed the wooden leg as I point the sharp part of it to my chest. I closed my eyes and was about to pierce it through my heart when a hand suddenly pulled my arm, causing the wood to drop to the floor. "Trying to kill yourself? If you really are guilty, then don't you dare kill yourself." he said while gripping my arm tight.

Still dumbfounded by his sudden appearance, my mouth couldn't let out words to answer him back, "You started this, so you have to help end this mess!" He said coldly while looking directly at my eyes, piercing through my soul.

He let go of my arm, and put both of his hands into his pocket.

"Maise!" A man shouted from the door and rushed over to my side. "Are you okay?" Dark said and glanced over at Lloki, the man who gripped my arm. "What did you do to her?"

Lloki let out a snort and answered, "I saved her ass from commiting suicide." He turned around and was about to leave.

"Wait." I said, stopping him on his tracks. "What else could I do to help other than killing myself? I am the Judge! If I die voluntarily, This last round will end!"

Lloki looked at me with disbelief, "You actually told me that you're the Judge. What if I am the Murderer? You could've had died." he said with a smirk.

"But you're not the Murderer, I know it." I firmly said.

"How would you know?"

"Because you told me to trust my instincts. And I trust my instincts, Lloki. I trust you."

For a little while, he was silent and stared at me.

Then he averted his gaze and changed the topic back to where I was about to kill myself.

"Killing yourself won't make any difference. Even if you're the only one who dies in this round, that won't guarantee that they'll survive the other rounds."

"But didn't the system announced that this may be the last round?" Dark chimed in.

"Note the word 'may'."

My last bit of energy left my body after losing the hope that this will be the last. When will this game finally end?

"You're smart so you probably already realized this," He gave me a cold stare for the last time, "Not until the mastermind is satisfied, the rounds of this game will continue,

And this game will never end."

He turned his back and left. He was a quiet guy even before this game started, But I couldn't seem to trace the other traits of the Lloki we once knew. He has not yet been killed, but it's as if he's dead.

I guess even if someone were to survive this game, You'll still be dead inside after all of this traumatic shit that happened.

"Maise." I turned to face Dark as he held my hand, "I'm right here."

I smiled. Those are the only words I need.

I'll make sure this game ends, I'll make sure there will be people who'll survive.

Sometimes I think about what this reunion could have been if I hadn't introduced the game. The fun and quiet game became a fucking hell after it became a game of survival, organised by a one hell of a lunatic whom we don't even know who.

And even after many years, I could still remember it.

Our first game.
