13 Notebook of the past

"The mastermind?" Klair muttered as she stare at Riri, who was excited to meet the mastermind, like a lady meeting her own god. The admiration in her eyes shone, not even trying to blink until she sees him on the screen. Klair remembered what Rosa said;

"I'm just doing M's commands."

"M? What do you mean M?"

"The Mastermind."

"I have a bad feeling about this." she whispered as she looked at the others whose eyes were focused on the screen. 'Rosa said she killed the woman because it was M's commands. This M is dangerous and I'm sure this isn't just a simple gathering.' she thought.

"Jesus christ, how long are we gonna stay in this place?" Justine muttered, Riri turned to him and frowned, "Shut that damn mouth and look in front of you."

"The fuck is wrong with you, you psycho?" Jayson chimed in, "Don't forget, we are more than nineteen." he added. Her frown disappeared and was replaced by a wide grin, "You are threatening me? How amusing. I bet you only know how to fight in games."

"Don't try us. We might break every bit of your bones." Ronjay added to support his friend.

"It's a waste to just break the bones. If you want I could give you a tip that I had always done," she said, her eyes were smiling along with the corner of her lips. "Rather than breaking it, I prefer to slice the flesh open, take the bone out without a crack. I could display it for my guests to see such beautiful collection."

If only they could vomit right on the white floor, they would have done so. Their stomach were churning, they couldn't handle the sickening remarks from the lunatic in front of them. "But when I am not in the mood I just feed it to my dogs, they like it very much." she continued.

"Stop it, you psycho!" Jayson exclaimed and charged towards Riri to attack her but Egerton raised his hand. "Take another step, and I'll shoot you." he stated and formed a gun using his fingers and pointed it to Jayson. "I dare you."

Jayson stopped and hesitated, seeing him making a gun with his hand is supposed to be funny, but he feels something bad emitting from Egerton, "Why are you so scared? That's not a gun. Don't listen to him, just come here and hit me." Riri said with a smile. But Jayson stayed still, couldn't understand why he feels so intimidated just by standing in front of them and feeling their presence.

Since Jayson did not come forward, Egerton approached him, "The likes of you who acts strong and tough, are in reality, the biggest cowards." he whispered, looking down at his face, "Seeing you standing here while shaking in fear, you look pathetic. What more it was a real gun?"

Jayson felt like he shrunk as he look up to Egerton, He couldn't even dare to look at his friends out of embarrassment. He backed off and turned around, when he took a few steps he was surprised to notice Lloki passed by him. He turned and saw him approaching Egerton and landed another punch on his face.

This time, Egerton did not fall down from his punch and kept his feet on the ground, Riri laughed and made a circle in her other hand and raise two fingers on the other, "2-0, hahaha, Lloki must be bored again." she muttered, referring to what he said when he first punched Egerton.

"You fucker, I'm being kind enough to let you punch me." Lloki went for another punch but he caught his fist and gripped it tight, "Twice is enough." Egerton said and glared at him.

As the tension rose once again, Caliber went between them and held their arms, "You just fought earlier and now you two want to fight again? We are all waiting for the mastermind or whatever they call that mysterious motherfucker so don't cause another scene and face the damn screen." he said.

Madlyn wants approach them, take Lloki away and comfort him. But of course, with intent to flirt. Klair grabbe the end of Madlyn's hair and pulled it roughly, "That hurts, you bitch!" she exclaimed. She pulled again and put Madlyn's ear near her mouth, still holding her hair she whispered, "Continue being a bitch or I'll take all your hair off and turn it into a wig."

She released her and Madlyn gave her a death glare. She walked away from her and passed by Arneau who was smirking, "You deserve it, slut." he mouthed and she just rolled her eyes at her twin.

Lloki and Egerton stopped fighting since they know that Caliber won't stop talking. The two of them scowled at each other and turned away and left Caliber. Caliber looked at the others who were staring at him and suddenly thought of a good idea, "You know, when we get out of here, I will buy them each a punching bag. They seriously like throwing punches that it makes me want to punch---" before he could continue, Lloki looked at him blankly and also felt Egerton's glare. "--myself. It makes me want to punch myself."

He scratched the back of his neck, "I think I should shut up for now."

"Finally." Dioven exclaimed, "That was the best decision you have ever made."

"Seeing how happy you are for me to shut up, I have changed my mind."

"SHUT UP!" They all turn to Riri who shouted angrily, even though she was laughing earlier because of the fight. She glared at them and returned her gaze to the screen and smiled widely, "M! The Mastermind is here!"

They were all tensed again but Constantine rolled her eyes, "You've been saying that since earlier. When can we finally meet that lame mast---

[Sorry to have made you all wait, Graduates.]

They all flinched as they suddenly heard the SYSTEM, the screen stopped glitching and they were surprised to see themselves. The screen showed them, in different angles. "Like they are saying that they are watching our every move." Ria muttered.

"Does that mean there are surveillance cameras all around the building?"

"Did you enjoy the reunion party, Graduates?"

All of them looked at each other. It was not the voice of the SYSTEM anymore, it was a distorted sound with different voices overlapping each other. There were a voice of a woman, a girl, a man, a boy and even the voice of an old person. They understood immediately that it was to conceal the gender of the mastermind, the one speaking to them.

'"I was doing M's command, the mastermind"?' Klair thought. She felt something was off but didn't know what. 'I know M is short for the Mastermind, but how did she know that he's called...' Klair shook her head, she decided to keep her thought as a secret. She looked straight at the screen.

They weren't on the screen anymore but it was replaced with a symbol. The symbol that they kept seeing.

The Eye.

"I think you all had fun on the party, but there's still something fun you all haven't done." M said. "Graduates, do you want to play a game?"

"A game?" Keila repeated. Ria suddenly remembered the one she realized at the locked door. 'Could that really be it? But how did the Mastermind know about it?'

Agatha glanced at her, she was beside her at the time she muttered, 'Murder Mystery'

A notebook appeared at the screen, making everyone confused.

"Ria Maise Relley, Do you remember this?"

Ria froze.

"That notebook...h-how?" she whispered, she look down atbher feet, couldn't blink her widened eyes as tears began to form in it out of anxiety. She clenched her fist, 'It's just a notebook, Ria. Don't worry.' she said to herself, trying to calm herself.

But at that point, she realized why the Mastermind has that book. She realized what the Mastermind was trying to imply to her.

"No...No way."
