1 The Awakening
"Is this it? Is this what my life is worth?"
That was the first thought that came to Aurel`s mind. He still remembers the pain, the loneliness, his despair. He recalls the day when he was left all alone, no ties to anyone or anything, and even after enduring such hardships, he wasn't chosen.
The entire world was shocked by the appearance of extraordinary underground caves. In some cases they could even reach around the core of the earth. Alongside the caves there were "The Chosen Ones". These people would gain superhuman powers, and the ability to explore said caves. Nobody knew their origins nor fully understood what they were for a long time.
And finally, after 16 years of exploring, the legendary explorer group, "Godly Horizon", finished exploring the deepest cave of them all, the "Blood Seekers Domain". This group revealed to the world the existence of other worlds. The Earth's population was delighted by such discovery because in the core of the earth, the gate to the other worlds existed, however, only the chosen ones would be able to reach the gate.
7 years ago, Aurel`s mother died due to incurable illness, which is mana poisoning. This illness happens when a regular human being spends a significant amount of time near a cave that spreads mana from its insides. A normal humans internal organs, veins and artery would fail when you become ill with mana poisoning due to the body absorbing and rejecting the mana in the air. Aur`s mother wasn't chosen, therefore she met her end and left all of her dreams to his son.
His father couldn't bear his lover being dead. After falling into despair and depression, he ultimately left his son behind to go meet once again with whom he loved, on the other side.
Ever since Aurel was left alone, he resolved himself as hard as steel and promised to himself to never give up and to work hard every single day to buy an elixir that would cure his weak, frail and ill body, and therefore try to be chosen.
And 7 years passed.
After all those years full of sweat, loneliness, and fatigue fue to the various part-time jobs, Aur finally acquired the money to buy the elixir.
"I'm sorry mom and dad. Your son is a sorry excuse of a living being. Nevertheless, I'll never give up, I have finally managed to gather the money for the elixir. Today is the day my life becomes a virtuous one, for I will have the possibility to be chosen".
He then drank the potion, and not after long, the message finally appeared right in front of his eyes. "YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN".
