New vs Old

Lord Yasin started to chuckled then it turned into a hysterical laugh. He rose from the ground and took the Bearshead blade, he looked into Lilith's eyes and could see Alpha smiling. The young apprentice and old scout rose from the ground and looked at each other with confused looks.

"My Lord, what happened?" asked Bergan.

"It's nothing important old friend," spoke Yasin. "Besides, Alpha wants a duel."

"We want a duel," Lilith corrected. "The rules are up to you, Bear Lord. Right, Alpha?"

Lilith's left eye flicked to silver before it went back to amber, the old Lord chuckled and moved towards an open area in the training ground. Lilith followed the old Lord, she didn't bother picking up another sword, she wanted to try her knife fighting skills. She knew that if she made contact with the Bear Lord's body, it would probably hurt more than a normal blade would do.

The Bear Lord turned around and ready himself for the duel. He knew he had a chance at beating Lilith but it was unlikely that he wouldn't sustain an injury or two. The two scouts took their seat as they waited for the duel to start.

"The rules are simple, the last one to bleed is the victor," spoke Lord Yasin. "If you inflict damage to yourself, it's fine."

"Simple enough," said Lilith, she held the silver kunai underhanded for the time being.

"Hey kiddo, why don't you give us the countdown," said Yasin talking to the young apprentice.

"R-Right sir," stuttered the young apprentice. "Three, two, one, go."

The Bear Lord immediately started charging Lilith, his sword down and following him. Lilith flipped the kunai once before the blade land in her palm, she cut her palm and used the blood to blind the Bear Lord's vision. He slowed down and stopped in his tracks, he started to focus on his senses and sounds. Lilith slowed her breathe and silently moved towards the Bear Lord. She slowly blended into the environment and approached the Bear Lord. The Bear Lord sniffed the air and Lilith already knew she was detected, Yasin moved toward Lilith's direction and with full speed. Lilith flipped the kunai once more, she grabbed the tip of the blade and threw it towards the Bear Lord's shoulder. Miss. "Hm interesting tactic, did you plan to let the old man win," spoke Alpha. Lilith chuckled and charged the Bear Lord with full speed, she dodges the blade of Lord Yasin and wrapped around the Bear Lord's body pulling him down. Lilith disarmed Lord Yasin's sword and wrapped her legs around the Bear Lord's neck, she could see the Bear Lord's head changing red like a plum but he didn't surrender.

"Change father!" yelled the young apprentice, Lilith heard Yasin chuckled as she felt muscles and fur forming on Yasin's body. She quickly removed herself from the Bear Lord's transformation, she quickly grabbed her kunai and the steel blade. She places the kunai to her side and prepared herself to face another beast. The Bear Lord had black fur covering his entire body, dark brown eyes and muscles pulsing. Lilith would admit that she was intimidating, she never faced a person with the same gift that she had. The Bear Lord charged at Lilith with increasable speed, her human self couldn't quite keep up with the Bear Lord's speed. Her left eye shot to the right and she saw a claw coming down, she jumped back and tried to swing her blade but the Bear Lord's reflexes were faster than she could swing. A smirk formed on Lilith's mouth. "Hey Alpha, take over," spoke Lilith in her head. She lost her senses and then her left eye turned silver, Alpha has taken control of Lilith.

Alpha charged at the Bear Lord with a swift movement, they tackled the Bear Lord and pulled out the silver kunai. They quickly made a small cut on the Bear Lord's cheek, the Bear Lord chuckled as he knew he lost.

"Cheeky wolf," chuckled Lord Yasin as he started to turn back to his human form. Alpha got off Yasin and lend a hand, they pulled him half on his feet.

"I won this time old friend," said Alpha, their left eye turned back to the amber. Lilith smiles and lends out her hand. The old Lord shook it and he could see the old king in the young girl but he worried that she will end up just like the old king, betrayed by him. The young apprentice hugged the old Lord, Bergan followed behind the young scout as he rubbed the scout's head in.

"So, you have a child," spoke Lilith, Lord Yasin laughed nervously as he rubbed the back of his head. Lilith flipped the kunai in her hand over and over, the young apprentice approached Lilith with a noble face. Lilith flipped the kunai high, she pulled her own hand away. They both watched as the kunai fell, quickly the young apprentice grabbed the knife by the handle. They handed Lilith the kunai then said, "You're skilled with knives, use it to good use."

"Nina! That's not how you talk to Wylan's daughter!" outbursts Lord Yasin. The young scout looked at Lilith but didn't kneel.

"Hey Yasin," spoke Lilith. "Don't call me someone's daughter that I didn't know."

Before Yasin could reply, Lilith walked away and left the open area. She went to one of the guards that stood by the entrance of the training ground. Whatever Lilith asked, the guard showed her towards the armory.

Lilith followed the guard into the armory, he stopped and pointed toward the abundant of knives next to the bows and arrows. Lilith thanked the guard and started to pick up as many knives that she could possibly carry. Once she was done, the guard leads her towards the targeting practice. There was only one person which Lilith liked expect it was the Lion Guard, the Guard looked at Lilith then continued to his practice. Lilith placed the kunai on the back of her waist, she started to flip the knives in her hand once before she threw it. Bullseye. She picked the next knife and immediately threw it, she was trying to get a feel for the metal and the form of the knife. She remembers her father personally teaching her how to throw knives since she couldn't use a bow and arrow properly, she remembers how astonished he was when she was able to hit a wild bear square in the head from half a mile. Her brother praised her and her mother made a special meal for that night, her father smiled for the first time in her life.

She felt a hand on her shoulder and she was immediately sent back to reality. The Lion Guard stared into Lilith's eyes and she could see Drew in there, broken by the training that he had to endure.

"You okay, sis?" whispered Drew. Lilith's left eye started to burn with rage, Alpha must've not trusted Drew, Lilith couldn't blame it. He sided with his father but what side could he really chose.

"Yeah, I'm fine," said Lilith coldly, she shook Drew's hand off her shoulder and continued to throw knives. Drew watched as Lilith continued to throw knives, he felt a pang of sudden guilt in his heart and he knew why. Drew knew what Lilith was, he remembered the conversation that happened when they got Lilith, at that time, she was three but the beast already awakened when she arrived. Drew wonder how the beast was already awakened at such an early age, he took care of Lilith though she probably didn't remember.

"So, Drew, you joined the military already," spoke Lilith. "I'm assuming Jesper is trying to find me."

"He's also in the military," said Drew. "Old habits was killing him so he joined the army again."

Lilith didn't reply, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree or would it be no matter how far the arrow goes, it will always be retrieved even if it can't fight. Either way, Lilith didn't bother why Jesper joined the army again, her concern was to get out of Brackenholme and go back into the Lyssia Woods.

She walked towards the targeting board and pulled out the knives, six bullseyes, two in the red and one in the blue. She walked back to Drew and followed the rhythm of throws.
