A New Friend

Lilith woke up, her head feeling fuzzy and dizzy, her body ached and she could barely feel a muscle. She tried to rise up but she couldn't. "Guess that poison really worked its stuff," Lilith thought to herself, she sighed heavily and tried again to rise. This time, she felt a hand on her shoulder, she looked up and saw a man wearing a steel breastplate, gauntlets and a leather patent underneath. The man had a small black bread, his eyes yellow like a bear, he gave her a smile and helped her get up. She moved back so that the back of the wall was against her. The room that she was in was wooden, a small window, a chair beside the bed that she was sitting in and a small desk next to her right. "He's a wereLord!" the voice in Lilith exclaimed, Lilith had no clue what the voice had said but she had a feeling that this was someone who was not to be messed with.

"How are you feeling young lady?" spoke the man, his voice was soft, gently but slightly rough.

"F-Fine uhh sir," replied Lilith, it's been so long since Lilith hadn't interacted with anyone that she had almost forgotten how to talk at one point. The man lifted Lilith's arms and examined her body, he gently laid them back down and pulled out a small cup that was filled with a blueish purple color, it was odd and Lilith cautiously looked at it.

"It's medicine to help your body heal from the poison," said the man, he handed it to Lilith and she took it gently. She sniffed it for a second before she downed the whole cup, she pulled the cup away before she started to cough, she gave the cup back to the man.

"So what's your name young lady?" asked the man.

"I could ask you the same, sir," said Lilith, she was cautious of the new man. The last thing she remembered was walking up to the two men and then her vision blacked out. "It was the poison that knocked up out, spoke the voice. I must say, you were out longer than I expected." Lilith sighed, she had no idea where this voice had come from and it's been annoying her at times.

"My name is Yasin, Lord of Brackenholme," said the man. "I'm also a werebear."

"Werebear?" Lilith was confused, "What was a werebear? Then she realized that it was a Lord that was talking to her.

"My-My Lord!" Lilith trying to find her manners. "I'm very sorry to any offense I have given you. My name is Lilith…"

Lilith was going to say her last name then remembered the events that happened at her...the farmhouse she once knew. Yasin chuckled as he rubbed Lilith's head.

"Please don't worry yourself, I am in your debt Lilith," spoke Yasin. Lilith was perplexed at what Lord Yasin was saying, she didn't want to argue with a higher up but it made her want to say something, anyone would have saved those two. "Maybe not Lilith," said the voice, "You're not in a world where you think everyone is kind and selfless."

"I never said we were in a safe world," Lilith murmured.

"Excuse me?" Lord Yasin asked.

"It's..nothing sir," said Lilith. "Where am I?"

"You're in Brackenholme, you saved a friend and a very important person that I cared," spoke the Lord. Lilith lifted her left hand in front of her, she could have sworn she saw her hand was covered in a grayish fur. She looked at Lord Yasin who doesn't seem to notice that her left arm was covered in her. "Maybe I need more sleep," Lilith thought to herself.

"So why are you still here my Lord?" asked Lilith with a hint of bitterness. "Not to be rude but I'm probably not gonna be a concern once I leave this place."

She saw the Lord bite down on his lower lips, maybe she did offend the Lord. "Great, now I have to worry about a Lord watching me," Lilith seemed annoyed at herself. The events that happened after she fled into the Lyssia Woods were not the best, she heard her father's horn go off, sending the hounds to find her. She was lucky that she had blood on her, throwing the hounds' noses off. She was able to find a decent cave for her to survive the harsh and deadly winters, her tattered clothing didn't help when she changed back into the beast that was inside her.

"The problem is young Lilith…" the Lord bite on his lips harder. "You have a duel against a Lion Guard."

"A Lionguard?" Lilith questioned, she didn't have the slightest clue what or who this person was. "The Lion Guard are soldiers who fight and protect the new king," said the voice. Lilith could sense something from the voice, it was almost as if it was connected to the beast that was inside her and if it was connected to the beast that lived inside her, then that only means that the voice is being wary.

"Can you walk young lady?" asked Yasin.

"Please don't call me a lady," Lilith chuckled. "I'm far from being one."
