16 XVI

Previously: "Dodgeball?" Issei asked skeptically. He was wary about something but tried to hide it behind a smile with Asia glanced at him. Lucas slapped his shoulders and smiled darkly at the pervert, making him gulp in fear.

"Don't worry, all you have to do is remember the 5 D's."

"5 D's?" The Pawn asked. Luas could see his mind make a connection between the 5 D's and women's breasts

Lucas smiled, remembering one of his favorite movies, "Yup. All you have to do is 'Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge."

Issei stopped in his tracks at that, but Lucas gave him a laughing smile before walking down the stairs towards the school gym with the rest of the peerage in two.

A few short hours later Lucas was in the gym, stretching out his arms and legs, ready for the game. Behind him, Asia was being manhandled by Akeno under the guise of stretching and Kiba stood off to the side. Issei was seated on the floor with Koneko behind him, the Rook gently pressing Issei down, giving him a better stretch.

Lucas was wearing knee-length, Jordan grey and silver basketball shorts and a black spandex sleeveless muscle shirt. The girls blushed at first when they saw the way the shirt clung to his muscles and even pure innocent Asia and Koneko blushed when looking at his muscles.

Just as Lucas was good and limber, the doors to the gym banged open, Sona and her peerage strolled right in. The girls were wearing the same tracksuit-style gym clothes as Rias, though, one of Sona's Pawns, Ruruko Nimura, Lucas thought her name was, was wearing the skimpy short, shorts that Akeno, Asia, and Koneko were wearing.

"Are you and your peerage ready to play, Rias?" Sona asked loudly as her team did quick stretches and got into positions. Saji was standing next to Sona, looking at Lucas and Issei with overconfidence. Lucas smiled and chuckled darkly in anticipation. Akeno looked up at Lucas when she heard his chuckle and giggled. She found someone who could help destroy stuff and have fun doing it.

Rias smiled at Sona and nodded, "Yeah, just about. We'll be right there, Sona."

Lucas looked over towards Rias and saw the others gathering around her. As he made his way over, he stood next to a limping Issei. He laughed at the pervert and saw Issei scowl back at him, mumbling something about Koneko's rocking body having unfair strength. Said white-haired girl looked towards Issei, daring him to say something.

"Since Sona has one more player than us, she's going to have Rurko sit out and referee the match for us," Rias said, drawing everyone's attention. She smiled a bit at Issei's situation, having watched whatever happened to him with some amusement. "You guys are going to do great. I just know it."

"Yeah!" Akeno said, "We're going to take all the balls, aim them right at the Sitri's, and smack them right in the face!" She said, sighing in bliss. Lucas chuckled and smiled, some of his teeth started growing longer and shaper.

"I lobe that plan."

Akeno's breath started to speed up as she locked eyes with Lucas, and Rias couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her. Having those two was going to make this an easy win. "Guys," Asia spoke softly. She was standing next to Kiba and Issei and seemed happy. Not Lucas and Akeno happy, but more of a pleased to even be here happy. " I just want to say thank you for playing on our behalf. We haven't known each other for very long and you've been nothing but kind to us. We all appreciate everything you've done for us."

Leave it to Asia to come in at the last minute with some heavy emotions. Lucas couldn't help but agree with the devil either.

Rias smiled at Asia and Issei relayed his sentiments, "Yeah, thanks guys, It's very cool of you to help us out."

They all stood smiling at each other for a moment before Lucas broke the silence, "Alright, I don't know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to kicking some Sitri ass. Let's do this!" He shouted with a war cry. The others around him broke out of the moment and joined him in his yelling.

Lucas positioned opposite Saji and smirked a bit at the chance to hit his smug face first. Saji didn't think anything of it, but it was only a matter of time before his overconfident attitude crumbled under his balls... err power.

"Begin!" Ruruko said, starting the match. Lucas was one of the first to take off.

Kiba was on the far side of Lucas, and he was looking to get his ball first. A few of Sona's evil pieces in the middle looked to get their balls just after Kiba was. That only left Lucas beating Saji to the last ball on the far side. It was strange, seeing seven people going for four balls, but that added an element of unpredictability to the game he hadn't expected to be exciting as it was.

As Lucas reached the ball, he saw Saji stop in his tracks a few feet away, realizing that he was too slow compared to the hybrid. Saji didn't look too worried, but he did lose his confident smile at being beaten for the ball.

It was two balls apiece to both sides and Lucas made him towards the middle, in front of Asia and Rias. He held the ball out in front of him, ready to throw it when he caught movement from the concern of his eyes.

Kiba, seeing an opportunity, whipped his ball out using his Knight speed, and everyone watched as it made contact with a slim girl with long brown hair that ends in two short braids and matching eyes. Reya Kusaka, Bishop to Snao went down with a thud.

A whistle blew from Ruruko, indicating that Reya was out.

While everyone watched as Reya made her way outside the field of play, Lucas saw his opportunity, and a predatory smile formed on his face. Saji was a sitting duck, staring at the now motionless dodgeball on the ground, and Lucas, like the wolf he was, pounced. He wound up and unload his full strength, without using his ki to strengthen his body of course.

The throw wasn't quite as fast as Kiba's had been, but there was more power behind it, with Lucas being stronger than Kiba.

POW... THUD

The sound of rubber colliding with flesh rang out in the room, and the brief moment between contact and the person falling to the ground was due to the airborne status Saji was a part of. The best part for Lucas was the giant red mark forming on the Pawn's face. It would easily take up his entire face in the morning if someone didn't heal it.

For a brief moment, Lucas enjoyed his victory over the obnoxious devil. The hybrid didn't like other people looking down on him, call a side-effect to have the lineage of the alphas of all alphas flowing through his veins. However, that was brought up short when he realized that all balls were on the Sitri's side, and though they had lost two players, they had all the ammunition.

Sona and Tsubaki both went and picked up the two balls on the floor as Ruruko whistled Saji out. The Sitri devils looked at one another before seemingly coming to some sort of agreement and getting ready. That's when all Yomi broke out.

The next Lucas knew, he was dodging and ducking under throws right and left while dipping and diving back and forth. It seemed that every time he managed to miss a throw, another one soon replaced it. He wondered how the fuck the balls kept coming his way when he realized that Rias and the rest were throwing them back just as forcefully. For whatever reason, the Sitri Clan decide that Lucas was the target they would all aim for.

"What did I ever do to you, number two?" He was digging his own grave and he knew it, but he was having fun.

"Get him!" Sona shouted as she and Tsubaki fired off two magically enhanced red, rubber balls. Lucas easily avoided Sona's throw, but Tsubaki's throw went right in his jump path. There wasn't going to be another chance for him to avoid it, so he started channeling his ki through his body, preparing to catch it, but when the sound of rubber hitting flesh rang out, it wasn't his skin that caused the noise.

Standing in front of him was none other than Rias Gremory, and she managed to grab hold of the magically thrown ball.

"Well, catching Tsubaki's spike head-on is very impressive," Soan congratulated

"Don't forget, Sona," Rias said back, "I'm a Gremory. That's just how we roll." The redhead threw the ball right at the heiress, causing Sona's eyes to bulge momentarily. Lucas was standing after landing and was watching as a magic circle formed in the path of the ball ahead of Sona. Lucas watched as the ball went through the circle and disappeared. For a moment, nobody knew where it was and looked all around the gym in anticipation.

They didn't have to wait long as another circle appeared behind one of the Knights of Sona, and the ball came flying out., The girl turned around upon hearing the whizzing of the ball, but it was too late and tried to throw up her arms in defense. Rias' toss was too strong though, Lucas suspected that the girl's clothes being on fire had more to do with the girl shrieking than actually being hit by the ball.

Lucas looked at the remaining player on both sides, trying to get a feel for who was left. Lucas was still sticking with Rias, Akeno, Asia, and Issei. It seemed in Lucas' constant dodging, both Koneko and Kiba had somehow been eliminated.

They were doing better than Sona's tea though. With the dismissal of Sona's last Knight, the Sitri King was left with herself and Tsubasa Yura, a third-year and one of Sona's Rooks. Tsubasa is a tall girl with blue, shoulder-length hair and matching eyes. She has the basic appearance of a tomboy and has a bishounen face. Sona seemed determined, but the blue-haired girl seemed a bit hesitant by the overwhelming odds.

Unfortunately, Sona had most of the remaining balls on her side, while Asia held one for Rias' team. Sona eyed Lucas for a brief moment, looking ready to fire at the hybrid when at the last second, she changed direction, having found a much better target. An eye for an eye as they saw, or in this case, a Pawn for a Pawn.

Issei stood off to the side, watching Sona's last Knight make her way to her seat with her clothes slowly bring off. The girl seemed a bit fire resistant, and even Lucas had to admit to being slightly caught off guard, but not to the point of losing focus.

Sona wound up and fired at the oblivious Pawn with all her force.

"Issei!" Rias shouted at him. The tone of Rias' voice drew Issei's attention away from the nearly naked girl, and he let out a yell at the incoming rubbery missile.

The pervert could only do one thing, and that was run away, but wherever he turned the dodgeball seemed to be coming his way.

"I thought you said I needed to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge?!" Issei yelled, coming right at Lucas, who was chuckling darkly.

"I did!" He yelled back after realizing that the pervert was bringing the damn ball with him as he headed his way. "You're just running!" Lucas realized pretty quickly that whatever magic Sona but on the ball wasn't being selective for targets because it suddenly veered slightly off Issei and towards Lucas.

Having no choice, Lucas took off in the same direction as the brown-haired kid.

"Damnit, Issei!" Lucas yelled in frustration, before taking off in another direction, making sure to always keep an eye on the blue aura, rubber ball.

"Don't look at me!" He shouted back, "It's Sona's crazy magic. Do you honestly think I'd-"

Lucas stopped running as Isei was talking when he felt the magic of the ball was no longer behind them. Instead, it somehow made its way in front of them and streaked right for Issei's balls. The idiot didn't seem to realize it yet, but t was only a matter of time, and Lucas didn't want ot be near him when he found out.

"Ahhhh!" The Pawn shouted girlishly when the hit came. Lucas saw Issei collapse on the floor and winced at the impact. Even Lucas wasn't so heartless that he would make fun of a man getting hit in the balls, no matter who it was.

"My... frank and... beans," Issei said in a high-pitched voice before curling up into a ball, trying to catch his breath.

Asia ad come over to heal him, over the pants, of course, Lucas was surprised that Issei tried to wave the girl off since he knew how much a pervert Issei was, but the pain was too much, and Issei let Asia heal him off to the side.

When everyone was back to being situated, it left Lucas, Akeno, and Rias against Sona and Tsubasa. This time the field was even as both sides had two balls apiece, with Lucas and Rias holding them for Team Gremory.

Ruruko blew the whistle to start playing and both Sona and Tsubasa came out aggressively, though it didn't phase Lucas or Rias as they returned the charge.

Tsubasa wound up to throw her ball right at Lucas, while Sona was aiming right at Rias. The hybrid knew Akeno was beside him and deiced to go for the win. Right now, Rias seemed to be in a standoff with Sona, waiting to see what the other would do.

Trusting his black-haired beautiful friend, Lucas stood still and threw his arm back, gathering his strength for this last throw as Tsubasa let her ball go into the air, he unloaded his own towards Sona's hip, forcing the heiress to break her attention from Rias.

It was right as Lucas' ball entered Sona's vision that Lucas saw the back streak of Akeno's hair cross his path and catch Tsubasa's ball. He smiled when Akeno pulled up in front of him, holding the ball. She was smiling widely and Lucas winked in return.

"UGH!" Sona grunted from the left of them. Lucas and Akeno turned to see Sona on the floor, and Rias in a throwing stance.

The final whistle came in, indicating Team Gremory had won, and they would be allowed to get their Familiars first.

"YEAH!" Lucas shouted in joy, excited about winning. He grabbed both Akeno and Rias in big hugs and spun a couple of times with them, his ears and tails coming out.

Both Akeno and Rias seemed caught off guard by his happiness, but their shock quickly melted into joy themselves as they celebrated with him. Soon the others made their way over and Lucas lifted Koneko and Asia in the air, before clapping Issei and Kiba on the back.

As everyone made their way from the gym back to the clubroom. the moon was shining brightly in the dark sky.

Lucas was smiling with his friends, his arms wrapped around both Rias and Akeno as he deemed them the true winner since they had knocked out both Sona and Tsubasa, winning the game for them. Both girls seemed happy.

Issei was happy and celebrating, the pain from getting hit in the nuts having retreated.

When everyone stumbled back into the club room they were all laughing and joking about the tennis match and Issei 'taking one for the team'.

Rias pulled out some kind of special drink and poured everyone a glass, before gathering them around the coffee table in the middle of the room. She smiled at them all, clearly pleased with the events earlier.

"I want you all to know that I', very proud of the way you all laid," Rias said appreciatively. Genuine joy radiated from the crimson-haired devil and her attitude was rubbing off on everyone. "You guys went out there and give it your all to defeat those devils. I hope you're all proud of the way you played."

Lucas was standing in his usual spot between Akeno and Koneko, across from Kiba, and toasted everyone. They all clinked their glasses together in celebration before drinking.

The drink was pretty good. It had a very different taste and he couldn't point out a single flavor, Lucas guessed it was a drink from the Underworld.

The joyous occasion went on for a few more minutes with everyone reminiscing over the day and how Akeno and Rias almost destroyed the tennis courts before they whipped the floor with Sona's peerage.

"Alright everyone, sorry to break up the party, but I think it's time we go and get these three a few Familiars. What do you guys say?" The King asked, smiling at them.

"Hell yeah!" Issei yelled pumping his fist. "I'm going to find the hottest familiar there is so she can please me whenever I want and I can do all kinds of things to her!" The same lovestruck look that Issei got when he was daydreaming about his perverted fantasies formed on his face.

"What kind of things?" Asia's innocent voice cut whatever fantasies the pervert was having completely off as he looked at Asia and nervously rubbed the back of his head.

Lucas shook his head and watched as Rias stood up and began forming a magic circle on the floor where everyone was standing, ready to transport them.

"Wait, him?" Lucas asked Akeno.

Right as she was about to speak, the group was transported away to wherever Rias was taking them.
