18 A Blur Chasing a Villain

I stood up from my kneeling, feeling an ache. I've been here too long. It's a miracle I'm even still alive, but I guess it's time to say goodbye.

As I looked over the poorly made grave I chuckled, sorry I couldn't do better. But I do truely love you, for the love you showed me since birth and I'm sorry you couldn't be there when I have grandchildren. I chuckle, what am I thinking? I'm pretty sure she has guessed my wife at this point.

I sigh heavily, I need something to distract me. I turn back to the nearest gates, they should be out of the town by now...or most of them. I look at the foot that was coming from behind a house. I guess this was sorta expected?

"Emilia, you can come out now I know your there" I waited for a bit before seeing Emilia emerge out from behind the house.

"What are you doing here? You know it's still dangerous" She hesitated and shifted in my gaze while her eyes flew all around the place, just except where I was.

"I guessed if you went missing, that we'd be worried and you might be dead. So I stayed back to make sure no one would be left behind" She said whilst grinding the tip of her foot into the ground. I smiled at her reasoning, it's either that or...

*BOOM* *CRASH* *EXPLOSION* *ANOTHER SIMILAR SOUND*

A massive impact shook the earth, we both tumbled and I 'somehow' ended upon top of Emilia. To be honest, I was too nervous about who did it more then the situation I'm currently in. And as I summoned my wings and shielded us from the heat coming our was, I had to go closer to Emilia.

Redder and redder, Emilia closed her eyes and blushed uncontrollably. I sighed and chuckled, I love cliche events, especially ones where I can be involved. I grew closer and closer to her face with mine until my breath tickled her face.

I look outside and notice the heat was back to a reasonable temperature, something big must've happened for the surrounding air to be so hot.

I looked at Emilia still having her eyes closed.

"Would my princess be able to wake from her slumber and join me?" She opened her eyes and notice I'm still on top of her, and shoved me off with a red face.

I look near the centre of the town from where the explosion took place, but now it was more easily seen as the surrounding buildings were destroyed. I also notice two figures on top a roof, one of which looked at me straight in the eyes.

I widen my eyes, and look at Emilia.

"I'm not really sorry, but I've got to say it nevertheless to be a gentleman right?"

"What do you mea- Kyaaa!?" I picked Emilia in a typical princess carry and myself off the ground and use my wings to fly is outta there. But I decided to fly below the roofs as we would be easily seen from a distance.

I've seen the west gate up ahead and we exit out, seeing the forest up ahead I flew in that direction. As we flew, I saw glimpses of people's outlines and noticed it was our group. So I stopped flying and plopped Emilia on the ground.

As they walked in our direction, I noticed a group of very angry kids. But it was just the girls and Yuu, but I don't discriminate against genders.

"What were you still doing there!? You could've brought an enemy!?"

"I'm pretty sure an enemy would've been already trailing us nevertheless, but yeah..." This angered Yuu even more than before.

"Tell me one good reason not to leave you behind right now!? What were you even doing there!?" I looked him straight in the eyes and said.

"I was burying 'something' very important to me, and 'it' deserves my full attention and being. So you can now leave me now if you'd like" I stretched my arms out as if to receive a hit.

"Fine...you can stay. And sorry about that" The last part was whispered and only a couple of people could hear it. And then the rude blue haired girl spoke again.

"What's so important than our lives, that you had to stay back? Tell me and I'll see if you will be left or not, hmph!" I guess she doesn't know. I look at Yuu with pleading eyes, and he noticed that I didn't want to say anything.

"Leave it alone Alice, not now" He said this in a stern voice and I was satisfied with her angry pouting face.

"So where are we going now?" Emilia now spoke, but her red face distracted all of us. Yuu looked questionably at me, I just shrugged.

"I think we should go to the north, the closest village is over there" We looked at the red haired brother and sister, I'm so glad we have them. But now that we're soon to be dead or killed or something like that, I guessed that we should at least introduce each other.

"Hello, sorry it's not in better circumstances but I'm Leon" I offered him a handshake.

"I'm Ryan and this is Maya, my sister" And Ryan shook my hand back.

"Nice to meet you, I guess we can all introduce themselves now? But I do suggest we continue walking as we do" They agreed and we walked where Ryan pointed.

"I'm Yuu as most people in this group know..." Me, Ryan, Will, Maya and the purple haired kid rolled our eyes and scoffed. "This is Alice and Shelly..." Yuu said as he indicated to the blue haired twins. "The scared one is Shelly, and the...eccentric one is Alice"

"Did you have to hesitate!? And don't badmouth my baby sister" Alice said to Yuu while holding Shelly's head closer to her as she was taller.

"Anyways, the blond haired here is Katherine..." Katherine then waved at us whilst walking and dodging the branches in her way "She is also a Demi-human like Leon, but she's dog instead, and our last one is Charlotte, she is the pink haired one" I was surprised as she was never really noticeable, but if you look close enough, you can see that she'd be a beauty once she grows up.

"My name is Emilia, though I am angry that Yuu didn't mention me, it's nice to meet you!" I smiled wryly at Yuu, I guess when having too much harem members you might forget a few.

"I guess I'm next, my name is Will. I come from outside the town and I've done here for a special person.

"*cough* *COUGH* Katherine *COUGH*" I intentionally said this as we Demi-humans have better hearing than others, well...in most instances. And I also wanted Will to start his journey of rejection early.

I looked at Katherine and she picked it up and looked at Will. He was pretty intimidating as he looked like a 9 year old to us 6 year olds.

"And I'm Yuki..." We all looked at Yuki, his purple exotic hair gave out an aura of a very outwards person, but guess hair isn't everything. And I guess nearly everyone here has exotic hair except me, Emilia, Will and Katherine. We had black and blond hair respectively.

But why do they have such exotic hair. And don't even get me started with Yuu's white hair. It's either black, brown or white hair with MCs. Tell me which one stands out more.

"I think the white one stands out a bit"

"Thank you" I voice out my thoughts.
