52 Chapter 37: Grayson

IVORY:

"S-Sardonna died?!" I trembled, feeling the contents of my stomach threatening to come up.

"Yes." Kyle nodded, a mournful expression on his face.

"Why would they kill her?!" I demanded, burying my face into my hands, "What if anyone else starts to die?! People I talked and conversed with!"

"Ivory… Deep breathes, the faster we find out who the suspect is, the quicker we can save everyone." Kyle soothed me sympathetically,

"Why is the suspect killing everyone! What did we do to him?!" I wailed, groaning in frustration and rage.

Kyle hesitated.

Right. Whining wouldn't do me any good. Kyle was right, I need to quickly find out who the suspect was. I lifted my head up,

"I'm sorry, forget that happened." I shook my head regretfully, "Have you got any ideas who the suspect is?"

"Ivory…" Kyle's sapphire eyes darted away from me, "Wasn't Luke the closest to Lady Sardonna? He could've easily killed her when her guard was down."

My blood chilled. If Luke was the suspect, and killed Sardonna, whom he had known since childhood, he could easily kill us as well.

I glanced around the room, my heart thumping as I searched the room and tried to find Luke.

"Ivory!" Some hands grabbed my shoulder.

I screamed and twisted from their clutch, clenching my fists to defend myself.

"Calm down! It's just me!" Rei stood there, quickly patting down the hair covering his eye anxiously.

Nothing is going right. This was not supposed to happen. What changed? Did I do something to cause this?

"LOCKING ALL THE DOORS!" The vice principal declared when the room was finally full.

"Apparently, some people killed the extremely dangerous beasts on our border." Kyle changed the topic suddenly, "My Father wants us to formally thank them by tomorrow. Will you be alright with that request?"

"Yes… yes that will be fine." I nodded wearily, glad for the new topic, "What they're names?"

"We're not sure, but Father suspects that they have an enchanted scroll or magician to change their appearance." Kyle answered, "This will be a good opportunity for you to take a break."

"…Yes." I mumbled.

The carriage finally halted to a stop, it's golden sheen shining in the yellow sunlight. The carriage was quite exaggerated, the doors had jewels adorned and the chairs were velvet and silk. Those people most have killed very dangerous monsters.

"We've arrived a few minutes earlier, let's get ready." Kyle smoothed his suit out.

His sapphire eyes held an intense look, and for a moment, he looked like what his father would look like at important meetings. His tawny brown hair was neatly combed, not even a strand was out of place.

We shuffled onto a large, uncomfortable but grand seat. I neatly flattened my azure dress against the chair and waited patiently. The breeze played with my golden strands of hair before it left me alone, and finally, another carriage came.

It wasn't as fancy as our carriage, but it signalled a wealthy noble's carriage. I was momentarily shocked, it was rare for high-ranking nobles to became beast slayers.

Two men stepped out, followed by a lady. Their looks were average, they all had black or brown hair and muddy eyes. They walked up to the table we were on, and bowed respectfully before sitting down.

"Please take off your enchantment." Kyle requested, his tone and appearance seemed regal.

The magic slowly faded away, and three attractive young adults sat in front of us, every moment elegant and sophisticated like a noble.

"You're Lord Grayson, right?!" I suddenly burst out, instantly regretting it as they all stared at me curiously.

As I studied them further, I realized sitting next to him were Edward and Elianna! They both sat so calmly and elegantly, their posture refined.

Accidently, I mumbled out a word automatically, "…otome game."

Lord Grayson's eyes widened.
