50 Chapter 36: Another Gone

"What type of element category are you in?" Kyle asked, looking up from his books in the library.

"…It's shadow, I thought you knew." I answered, looking at him curiously.

"No, no. Not element power. I'm asking about your element category." Kyle shook his head, "For example my power is nature. However, my category is [Petal Shards]. Basically, most of my magic is about using nature as a sword. Do you understand?"

"Hm… not exactly…" I raised an eyebrow, pondering about what he was saying.

"Take Luke for an example." Kyle continued, drawing a cartoon picture of Luke on his paper, "His power is water, but his category is [Ice Hunter]. Ice comes from water but is Luke's unique power. So basically, even though Luke's power is branded as a form of 'water', Luke uses ice as his magic."

"I think I get it!" I clenched my fists in victory, "I think the teacher mentioned mine was [Illusion Seamstress]."

"[Illusion Seamstress]?" Kyle muttered, "Let me try to find that."

Kyle flicked through the many pages of his heavy book before stopping at a picture of a mask.

"[Illusion Seamstress]. A power only relying on the outer appearance." Kyle read out loud, "Unable to be used in battles, however, can place an illusion on the Seamstress. Examples may include of, placing an illusion of darkness to blend into shadows."

"That's going to be useless if I ever face the Suspect." I groaned.

"I mean, you could just run away." Kyle shrugged, grinning at my exhausted glower, "It's fine, just bring your daggers wherever you go."

"The school policy states that ladies without a reasonable excuse can't bring weapons with them during school hours." I objected.

"Well, your reason can be… You're scared of the Suspect!" Kyle grinned with triumph.

I stared at him with obvious distaste,

"You really think anyone's going to believe that, huh?" I shook my head in exasperation, "Anyway, who do you think the suspect is?"

"I don't like to point fingers unless I know for sure…" Kyle hesitated.

"How royally good of you." I yawned, "Hypothetically, who do you think might be the suspect?"

"Hypothetically…" Kyle paused, weighing his options, "I'm a little suspicious of Rei, didn't you mention that he wasn't at the cafeteria when you tried to find the book? Maybe he stole the book or even took the chance to mess up your room."

"But why would he mess up my room?" I asked, "It's not like I had anything he needed inside there. And why would Rei kill the Headmaster?"

"Why don't you go ask Rei?" Kyle asked sarcastically.

"Great idea." I jumped up from my seat, watching in amusement as Kyle's eyes bugged out of his skull, "Why don't I go ask him now?"

"No wait-"

"REIIIIIIII! WHEREEE ARE YOUUUUUU?"

***

"Rei!" I ran up to him, "I couldn't find you anywhere!"

Rei looked up in shock from his book,

"What's the problem?" He slowly put his book back down to give me his full attention.

"Ivooory!" Kyle yelled, sprinting into the room and nearly tripping over himself.

"This is a study room." Rei stated to Kyle, "Please lower your voice."

"Let's go grab dinner with Luke and Easton." I hooked my arm with Rei.

"I'm going to die of a heart attack one day…" Kyle gasped.

[ERROR]:

Dinner had been fun. My life had been fun too.

Reading a book repeatedly was no fun. You could predict everything nothing would be exciting anymore. Maybe this new chapter was fun, but I doubted it was going to last forever. That's why, I need to destroy the whole book to escape the circle of boredom.

I felt bad for the people I had destroyed along the way but if my plan failed, then they would be alright.

I don't know why they gave me this ability, an ability I once treasured and believed I was the 'chosen one'. But now, I wished this power were never given to me. Maybe I would've been able to enjoy life.

I sat up from the cold grass. Now was time for another death…

Ivory:

"IVORY!" Emilia screamed frantically, "Get up!"

"Why was Emilia always waking me up whenever something urgent happened?" I thought to myself as we ran to the assembly room.

"…Once everyone has arrived here, we will begin the lockdown." I heard the last bit of the vice principal's sentence.

A number above her head kept on increasing each time a student entered the room.

"We have tested all teachers and all of them are innocent. No students are powerful enough, so we have concluded the murderer is a stranger." The vice continued, "Please remain calm so we can solve this situation quickly."

I searched around the room. The murderer was definitely the suspect!

"Kyle!" I yelled over the loud chatter, "Where are you?!"

"Stay where you are!" I heard Kyle's distant voice, "I'll come find you!"

I whipped my head around the room, remaining in one place but still desperately trying to find Kyle.

"Found you." I heard a tired voice behind me.

I spun around and found myself face-to-face with Kyle.

"Who got murdered?" I asked, keeping a wary eye on the crowd around us.

Kyle hesitated before answering, "…Lady Sardonna."
