2 Chapter 2: Grayson Makes A New Friend?!

Huh???

I stared at the reflection again. That was me? I shook my head and opened my door.

"Young Master! Good morning!" An elderly, plump woman smiled at me. "Please stay here. I'll call the servants to dress you."

"Oh, there's no need!" I shook my head frantically. "I can dress myself!"

The woman gave me a stubborn squint,

"No." She smiled innocently.

My howls and protests filled the corridor as I got shoved into clothes.

I sighed, clearly, I had lost the battle. As I ate breakfast, I recalled what my sister had blabbered about this character. Grayson was the only son of a marquis and he was a skilled magician. His parents had no love for him and had forced a renowned witch to give him extremely powerful magic and in return, the witch cursed him to turn into the last inanimate object he touched during the night. Due to his parents' negligence, he craved for love and that was what made him so easy to be conquer his heart in the otome game. Unfortunately, he died a lot in the routes as he either sacrificed himself to save the heroine or, suicided since the heroine did not love him back.

"Alright! Today is the day when I hatch my plan to live a long life!" I declared with gusto.

I was met back with silence and the mourning wind.

I deflated, memories of my former family laughing with me, sprung into my head.

"Alright! I will make the best of this to make Sis proud! I'll get friends and a love life and prove her wrong!" I erupted with passion.

This time, I was met back with curious glances from the servants.

I stepped into the market, ignoring the constant interested looks from girls my age.

"Sigh…" I thought miserably, "This guy has it all, with these delicate features, he can charm any girl he wants, unlike my last life."

I looked through the crowd of people, looking for any prospects of loyal friends.

"Hey! You are so weird looking! Monster!" Jeers erupted near my right.

I turned my head and saw three brawny boys kicking and punching a boy, near this character's age. Hmm? That guy looks familiar… Isn't he Edward?

Prince Adrien was one of the main flags and the villainess was his fiancé, Lady Elianna, who was known for her unladylike strength. With his blond hair and blue eyes, he was considered to look like the perfect fairy tale-prince. Lady Elianna got jealous that the heroine got so close with Prince Adrien in a short amount of time, that Lady Elianna bullied the heroine ruthlessly. Thus, the engagement got annulled and she got disowned. Lady Elianna's twin brother was known for his rare, monstrous red eyes, as a result, got bullied often, and gave him a distrusting personality.

Sigh…

I did not like the idea of joining in the fight and honestly, I was not sure how to use my powers yet. Yet, I did not want to become a bystander. Perhaps, I could befriend Edward to gain political power from his sister?

"Um… what are you doing?" I muttered with trepidation as I neared the boys.

"Who are you to stop us?" The apparent 'ringleader' sneered. "We are just teaching the vermin how the real world is like."

"We-Well stop!!!" I stuttered, sweat forming above my brow. I shoved my hands forward and suddenly, out of nowhere, water ejected out of my palms! "RUN!" I hollered, dragging Edward away.

~~~~~~~~~~
(From the Point of view of Lady Elianna):
"Edward? Edward!?" I shrieked, worry clouding over my golden eyes, "Edward!?" Edward had wandered of in the middle of the market and I had been looking everywhere for him with no avail. My black hair was a mess. It was flying everywhere in the wind and all over my face, giving me a dishevelled look. I suddenly spotted Edward's black, unkempt hair and noticed the gang of boys beating him up.
"Tsk. Three against one? How cowardly." I mocked, fire burning in my eyes, "Those boys are literally begging me to beat them up." I rolled my sleeves up and started marching towards them.
Suddenly, a silver headed boy burst between them out of nowhere and started arguing with them.
"This is interesting." I grinned, the silver headed boy was so obviously shy and terrified and yet he was defending my brother? I stayed in a defensive stance, getting ready to intervene if it looked like my brother was in trouble.
The silver headed boy, abruptly shot water at the pests, grabbed Edward, and ditched the sopping wet bullies. Classic! The attack and run tactic! I could not stop cackling with laughter at the horrified and aghast expression on Edward and Silver head's face as they ran away.
"Looks like not everyone in the capital is as corrupted as I though." I whispered under my breath. "Now, looks like my appointment to meet with my fiancé is in a few minutes. Wonder what he's like?"
