1 1: Rogar Arryn

Rogar Arryn, Son of Lord Jon Arryn and his wife Lady Jeyne Royce, is the Heir Apparent of the Vale of Arryn, Rogar is five years old, and already very talented. But he has a secret, he was reincarnated into Game of Thrones as someone the Song of Ice and Fire never anticipated, and he will ensure it's a brighter and better future than the Books Show or Show ever gave us. Grown up in a family of Military Men and Brewers of Fine Alcohol, he knew that the best means to bring greater wealth to the Vale was to produce the Liquor of his past life and sell it to a limited number after doing a grand spread. Demand would outstrip the Supply, allowing him to either negotiate a premium price for a limited few or sell it at cost to larger market.

Tywin Lannister would try and get it, but Rogar had his ways of getting the spies out. Of course, the men who produced his liquor would all die mysteriously if they tried to gift the few parts of the recipe that they were allowed to get to the Lannister's or anybody else.

Rogar in other important parts of growing up chose to eschew the use of the traditional Weaponry, instead preferring to focus on the Mastery of a Large Shield and the Scimitar version of a Bastard Sword. He also chose to practice Archery Extensively, and was clearly preparing himself for something, though what was anybody's guess.

Jon Arryn adored his son, and loved him dearly, and though reluctant to foster him out of the Vale or even within the Vale, knew it was necessary to form bonds outside the Vale with powerful Lord's. Lord Tywin, Lord Royce, Lord Corbray, and Lord Luthor had all expressed an interest in taking in the young boy as a Ward and Page, but Jon would not do it without discussing it with his boy, but he wanted to do it in a way that the young Rogar would not realize it was about fostering him out or in the Vale of Arryn. A discussion over lunch perhaps? It's been a while since Jon enjoyed a fine leg of pork and some Eggs and Bacon with a freshly baked loaf of Gulltown White Bread and some nice Dornish Red Wine from 184 AC. Perhaps it was time to give Rogar his first taste of Dornish Red as well....

(Rogar Arryn POV)

-----------------------------------------

Father was acting unusually expensive, White Bread from Gulltown, a nicely cooked Leg of Pork from a Pig that tasted nothing like the typical pigs in the Vale, and Bacon and Eggs and Dornish Red that had been produced in 184 AC, all of which came to a grand total of the bottle being twenty thousand Gold Dragons alone. Why the bottle costed that much one might ask? Well it's the year Aegon the Unworthy died and his son Ascended to the Throne with his Dornish Queen which brought Dorne into the Seven Kingdoms actually making it Seven Kingdoms.

Something was either wrong or not up to code so to speak. The question was what and why?

''Rogar, Let's discuss the Great Families of Westeros and the preconceptions around them.'' Says Father.

Ah, so that's it.

''Father, if I had to pick someone for me to foster under, I'd choose either Tywin Lannister, Rickard Stark, or The Princess of Dorne. Nice try though.'' Says Rogar.

(POV Shift: Jon Arryn)

-----------------------------------------

"Well, I don't know how to respond to that, you've caught me off guard." Says Jon.

"I'm at the age where you would start to receive the offers, and the fact you chose to spend such an absurd amount of coin on a Dornish Red and then bring up the matter of the Great Families and not the Great Houses all but guaranteed this was what you'd had in mind. Truthfully, I would only consider a fostering after having been sent to the Citadel to Study as a Novice and Acolyte at which point I would return to the Vale and then be sent to a Family for Fostering. I am more than a little bit biased towards Lord Tywin or the Princess of Dorne truth be told, the why is unimportant just a need for consideration." Rogar replies.

"I see." Jon says, deep in thought. It wasn't an untoward notion, being sent to the Citadel to train as an Acolyte or Novice for a few years before being sent off to be fostered. And being sent to Tywin Lannister or The Princess of Dorne to be fostered would prove potentially more beneficial than the other potential offers of Fostering.

A Betrothal would also be a very possible occurrence, and Cersei Lannister and Elia Martell would be excellent Marriage Candidates for his boy to become future Ladies of the Eyrie. Both came from Families which were naturally fertile, and while the Vale of Arryn was known for its fertile valleys and hills Rich in Ore, its men were not widely known for their virility. House Arryn alongside Houses Royce, Corbray, and Waynwood were an exception, but this has its limits and made Marrying outside of the Vale of Arryn an important and invaluable matter. The more Children produced enabled them to arrange more Marriages INSIDE the Vale of Arryn possible.

It was difficult to fully determine the better fostering and possible Betrothal, but spending a few years at the Citadel as a Novice was not a terrible idea, however loathe he was to part with his only son so soon.

(POV Shift: Rogar Arryn)

-----------------------------------------

Rogar sat in his room, he'd made up his mind as to where he wanted to foster. He'd let his father know and know he was about to depart to study for three years at the Citadel as a Novice and would then go to Casterly Rock to foster under House Lannister. He'd spend a good number of years there until the Defiance of Duskendale at which point he'd earn Aerys favor by joining Barrristan, before returning home to the Vale of Arryn. By then he should be perfectly poised to start his highly rewarding but fairly high risk future plans
