A New Hierarchy

Forget the world as you know it and imagine it as an 1800s setting, where werewolves and vampires reign over humankind.

A new world order had been established after the war in 1889, and humans were enslaved and suppressed under supernatural control.

Continents of the world were fenced areas where werewolves claimed territory, and the vampires ruled the big cities.

Vampires and werewolves were not allowed to move around and do whatever they pleased; they answered to someone of a higher rank. Vampires had kings and queens of every land and continent, and they had an entourage of lords and dukes who answered under them and kept everyone in line in a hierarchy.

Werewolves had one Alpha and Luna ruling every pack, with the Beta and Delta next in line, who were responsible for the warriors and omegas.

Every leader was liable for ensuring their followers and pack members followed the rules they were obliged to obey.

The rules could vary from land to land and pack to pack.

But every vampire and werewolf had three rules they must respect and obey:

1. Vampires and werewolves are not allowed to cross marked territory or land without authorization from the land-holder. A respective leader will provide suitable punishment if passing is committed without approval.

2. Werewolves and vampire relationships are strictly forbidden. If revealed, their leaders will reprimand the act and take precautions. In most cases, they kill the individuals.

The rule applies to all beings - no relationship outside your kind.

3. A vampire or werewolf who incites unlawful violence or plans to commit an abrupt act against one's country or leader of higher rank will get killed. Or be held accountable to their country's legal system that confirms the final verdict.

Humans have different rules to obey. However, they are much crueler.

Most humans have their masters to whom they respond or live as enslaved blood banks for the richer and more established vampire families. There were lands where humans were allowed to live in a free zone. However, the vampires and werewolves set up these zones to ensure that humans would not be extinct or over killed.

Every year, an auction held by the Big Five took place. Humans who had reached their eighteenth birthday, or beyond, in the safe zone were sold to the highest bidder, a vampire or werewolf, or were moved to another location to start breeding.

The Big Five were the most potent leaders council who set out all the rules and ensured they were obeyed. They were the oldest and most influential leaders who beheld tremendous lands and kingdoms of their own.

But for this restoration to be equal, the Big Five were divided into two pairs: the two oldest vampires and the two oldest werewolves.

And what made them the Big Five was the ancient Sidonia, who held the deciding voice if the two pairs divided in their final decision.

Sidonia was respected and the most powerful being of them all.

No one knew what she was, and she had no breeding abilities, making her a one-of-a-kind.

Her immortality and wisdom could foresee a small part of the future, which beheld great respect from every being.

Sidonia was known for her unique appearance and graceful cat-like movements, making her unreachable.

Her foxy eyes could see through every lie told, but never could anyone see hers. Sidonia was small with her five feet, but she was proof of never underestimating an opponent as she sensed danger targeting her from miles away.

No one could touch the little human-like lynx, and her ever-ruling rein was to remain a mystery for everyone who faced her during their lifetime.
