The Trash of the Family (2) - 2

Anyways, it was time to explain the world to you guys, as y'all were probably too dumb to understand all the stuff I had hidden between the lines last chapter.

So, this should be the most obvious fact, as I said that the city of Lumi was humanity's last stronghold, but humanity was technically on the brink of extinction... at one point.

Well, what can I say? Humans were resilient rats that didn't know how to bow their heads and bred like monsters.

Anyways, in this world, "Caesonia", as named by the author (I had actually never heard this word being used by a resident of this world in my first life. It was just what I had come to know about this world when I was in my second world.), humanity had been pushed to the edge 500 years ago, when three other races suddenly appeared.

Already, these three races had been more powerful than humans, but once they banded together, there was just no hope left.

With all races having speed, agility, strength, and weapons far surpassing what humanity had, and with each race having a specific specialty that perfectly complemented the other races' specialties, well, humanity was screwed when they all ganged up on them.

Humanity was driven to the point where they could only hold out in one last stronghold, the city of Lumi, and after a while, the three other races had decided that us humans had earned our right to live, and they didn't attack anymore.

So now, humanity was only allowed to live inside the walls of "Lumi", and any human found outside of the city, well, they were fair game.

"Fair Game" = "Death" if you didn't understand.

Well, there were some unsaid rules, like the ones attached to a heir of one of the other two houses in the "Big 3" when they were outside the city to train, learn, or gather materials, but, as for everyone else, including the Aeronwens, humans were basically just looked at as something the other races could kill, use for pleasure, make into personal slaves, experiment on, and well, the possibilities were endless.

Yeah, we weren't even "someones", just "somethings" that the other races could kill by flicking their fingers.

As for the other two families in the Big 3, they had made special deals with two of the three races outside of Lumi, and so they were given special privileges and such, almost guaranteeing their lives outside of Lumi.

Some of the talented ones were even allowed to train with one of the other races, but that wasn't relevant information for now.

All you guys needed to know right now was that, alongside the protagonist and the heroine, I was one of the only three humans that could easily kill a member of one of the other two races, and all of us were from the Aeronwen family.

Yes, we couldn't even go up against them in groups, as for most heirs of the Big 3, going against only one opponent from one of the other races was always a gamble with death herself.

As for the me from back then, I could probably survive against ten members from one of the other races, but any more than that and I would be screwed.

The protagonist on the other hand, well, he would eventually become stronger than the gods, but I was considered the last villain because, after he killed me, the book really was just a big time skip from the day I died to the day he stood before the gods, except for the slice of life stuff of course, and then became a god himself. By then, he had already resolved everything, and the entirety of the Aeronwen Family had died sacrificing their lives for him against the Demon God, so...

Yeah, that was how the novel ended, pretty unsatisfying if you ask me, but every other reader thought it was amazing, so maybe I just had bad taste.

Anyways, enough about the protagonist, back to the world building.

So, the three other races.

The first of the three races that suddenly appeared were the Beastmen.

I wasn't going to explain about them anytime soon, and by now, all y'all should know what a beastman was anyways, so it was a useless waste of the word count.

The second of the three races were the Elves, again, you should know what elves are, if you don't, you're stupid.

Finally, the third of the three races were the vampires...

Again, not gonna waste any word count, but there was one special thing about the vampires that the two other races lacked, and that was the fact that they were the ones that hadn't signed a pact with one of the other Big 3 families.

As for the other two, the Elves had signed a pact with the house specializing in magic, and the Beastmen had signed a pact with the house specializing in money.

Well, there was actually a fourth race, the race that had given me my power in my last life by subjecting me to all those experiments in "Facility 0", but then again, I really didn't want to go through all that again, as I was the only survivor of their experiments after all.

Anyways, the fourth race was a mysterious race whom I didn't even know the identity of during my first life, only catching small glimpses of them whenever I was actually conscious during the experiments, but I had eventually learned about them in my second life.

They were the demigods, the rulers of the original world that the other three races had come from, and they were the actual reason the three races didn't completely destroy humanity after being transported here.

Yes, the demigods had chosen to live amongst humans instead of destroying them like all the other races, and, what do you know? The Big 3 were actually all families descended from a demigod, with each of their bloodlines containing half the blood of a demigod.

Basically, the demigods were fully integrated into humanity now, and most of the original ones had already died.

The remaining "pure" demigods had then become bored and had started trying to make a demigod from a human, ie. the experiment that I had been subjected to.

Anyways, this time, I would definitely do something different, as, even though the feeling of being a demigod was so addictive in my last life, in this one, with all my knowledge of this world's opportunities, I would be a dumbass to go through that pain again when I could easily gain all that strength around the City of Opportunities, Lumi.

Now, you might be wondering why I didn't just start looking around the city of Lumi, well, you see, there was one big problem.

Lumi, being the only city humanity could live in, had, because of the restrictions, become a very futuristic city, even more advanced than this "Earth" that I had lived in, in my second life.

This implied that Lumi made use of every single square centimeter of space it had, and saying that we were all packed in the city like sardines in a can was no exaggeration.

The only real relief that one could get from this congested atmosphere was actually by moving to the countryside, past the first wall of the city, "Wall Yahweh", which was also where the Ranch was.

But obviously, only the extremely rich and powerful could own land out here.

And that was why it seemed like I was living in a "medieval world" right now, looking exactly like the world on "Earth" during the middle ages.

Also, since we were on the topic of the structure of Lumi right now, past the countryside was the second wall, "Wall Christus".

Beyond the Wall Christus was where all the criminals from "Thrake", the inner city, were sent, where they toiled away the rest of their lives in the farms and gray substance plantations there. This was also where the majority of the food for the inner city was made, with everything being made of "Gray Matter", as only the rich were able to afford expensive meats like beef from farms in the countryside or even more expensive meats like the meat of "auric beasts" from outside the walls.

Finally, beyond this "Gray Zone" was the third wall, "Wall Jah", and beyond the third wall was the outside world.

That was the rough structure of the city of Lumi.

So, now that I was done explaining all of that, it was about time that I went and received my first opportunity.

After all, this opportunity wouldn't be available to me anytime after this particular day, so I had to seize it before I lost it forever.

Opening my swollen eyes with some effort, I stared at the feet of my 6th brother from the floor as he walked away, bored of beating me up, his knuckles still dripping with my precious blood.

And finally, as he walked out of the room, I let my true self show for a single moment.

I smiled, madly.

Thanks for reading!
