10 Part 10

Conch returns to his ship and sees Coral swimming around it. He looked nervous.

Conch-

Coral! What's the matter?

Coral-

Hi Conch! I want to leave as soon as possible but I think someone else might have found this ship.

Conch-

Then we find another one. Get everything together so we can move out.

Coral-

But where?

Conch-

The Bermuda gorge. The ship we found the pearl in. We can use that for shelter. I can see what I can do about the things we have and what we don't need since it has some stuff in it anyway.

Coral-

But is so creepy!

Conch-

It's better than getting stuck here with no hope of leaving. C'mon, let's get moving. Who did you see around here, anyway?

Coral-

Pods and fishmen. They were snooping around but I don't know what for.

They search the ship and find everything still in place except for the now empty pantry and treasure room.

Coral-

No!! They took my money and the food!

Conch-

It's fine there's plenty still in the other ships at the gorge isn't there?

Coral-

.... True. Plus siren meat!

Conch-

Come on let's pack up and get out of here.

Conch takes his pearl to see how to move everything in one go. It showed him wearing one of his trinkets on his neck. He finds it and puts it on. It then shows him leaving the ship with a trail of items following close behind. The pearl in a bag. He wrapped the pearl in a net and carries it out. Then focuses really hard on every detail in the ship. Soon everything was dancing around him ready to move, including Coral who was dumbstruck by Conch's show of power.

They swim as fast as they could to the gorge with the items close behind until they reached the ship they found the pearl in. It still looked the same as before. Untouched by time. Sirens swam around the place not daring to go near it as the two settled for the night. The next morning they searched the ships and collected all they could carry. Conch went to explore more areas outside the gorge for more food other than just sirens. He found plenty of other things to eat in the new places. While hunting he noticed a small clamshell with a thread around it. He remembered Zui having two like this. Curiosity made him look around more until he saw soldiers swimming nearby. He went into hiding until they left the scene and swam around the gorge instead of through it. What were they doing so far from Atlas? The cost is clear. Conch returns to the ship with the goods.

Conch-

We should start repairing this place soon. Coral!

Coral-

Yeah?

Conch-

Help me gather wood and stuff to fix the ship. We're going to surface it.

Coral-

This big thing!?

Conch-

It's the only one here big enough to hold everything and it would take less time to fix since it's still in tacked. I'm going to see how, so get some parts.

Coral-

Alright. Why so soon?

Conch-

I saw soldiers while swimming around. They won't go in the gorge so we're safe for a while, but I don't think it'll last long. Beside the sooner the better right? Once we set sail, we'll start learning as many human languages as possible.

Coral-

How many are there? I thought there'd be just one we need to learn.

Conch-

Depends on where we go. Come with me.

Conch and Coral go to the new pearl room. The pearl lights up and shows a map of the world above the sea.

Conch-

This patch of island here speak a different language from this patch of land. Not everyone is the same. Just like the many things here in the sea.

Coral-

For god's sake, you sound like a scholar. Alright. Let's get this baby fix!
