4 Chapter 3: The Encounter

Kai Virtanen's POV

I have reached to the rooftop as I went out of the door. It was chilly but thanks to the guard that was guarding the door, he gave me a show coat that helped me to keep the warmth.

"Hello?" I shouted as I looked around the roof.

"Anybody here?" I said as I looked around before I found a room that was lighting up. I went to investigate there. Maybe my fiancée was waiting for me there. I knocked on the door before I went inside.

"Hello? Is anyone here?" I said as I looked at the table that was lightened up with candles.

"come in, make yourself at home," a voice said as I went to sit at the table.

"my name is Kai, I was here to meet my fiancée," I said as I was surrounded by silence.

"Great, now I'm talking to myself again," I mumbled before a door busted opened. A silhouette was standing in front of the door that made her shadow blinding as I closed my eyes from the sudden light.

"Hello, beloved. I'm here to see you for the first time," the voice said before a guard come in and a woman was behind him. I looked at the woman and she was dressing traditionally that I knew Finnish women would never do it in this modern era. But again, this was a princess. She has the etiquette to follow. She slowly raised her face and opened her eyes. I can see her eyes were something unusual. Nothing like I saw before.

"Hello," she said. Even her voice was like an angel.

"My name is Kathleen and I am your fiancée. Are you Kai Virtanen?" She asked as she looked at me. I gulped before I nodded at her.

"very well, Oscar you can go now," she said before the guard looked at me like he was about to eat me. He nodded before leaving me with this beautiful angel. The door cracked open before it closed again.

"Is he gone?" Kathleen asked. I looked at her.

"what?" Was the best replied that I can think at the moment?

"my bodyguard. Is he gone?" She asked again. I nodded as I was mesmerized by her.

"oh, thank god," she said before she pulled out the traditional scarf and the dress. She flopped it open before she stepped out of it.

"wait, we don't even know each other," I said as I closed my eyes. I don't know what happened next but I knew nothing that I expected was happening.

"You can look now," Kathleen said that made me move my hands from my eyes. She was wearing a short spaghettini strap dress, black. I looked at her, bewildered with her behavior.

"what? Never seen a woman in the dress before?" She asked as she flopped her long legs on top of the table. I gulped as I looked at her. She arched her eyebrow at me as I looked at the food in front of me.

"want some?" She offered some grapes that she was eating.

"no, thank you. It just…can you put your legs down?" I asked her politely as I was looking away from her.

"why? I'm not going to pounce on you," she said casually.

"it's not you, it's just…i'm afraid of what I will do to you," I mumbled. I don't think she would hear but she was flopping her legs down that made me relieve my hold breath before she stood up and showing her boobs at me.

Oh dear…

Kathleen Remes' POV

I never thought that the notorious player Kai Virtanen was this timid and shallow person. I thought that he must be against this marriage but he just looked like a lost puppy. I put my legs down as he asked me for but I don't believe that he would be this nice. So I decided to stand in front of him.

"what are you going to do about it, Kai?" I asked as he was looking down at the ground the whole time. I went to touch his cheek before something unexpected happened. My back was hitting the table as Kai was holding my hands at the side of my head.

"what the…" I said before Kai was looking at me wickedly.

"so, you're my fiancée? I thought you might be more beautiful than my first crush," he said huskily as he was looking up and down my body.

"eyes up here, buddy," I said as I looked at him. He looked into my eyes as his sea-green eyes were glowing in dim lights.

"cat got your tongue?" He said as he was closing in on me. I smiled at him. Two can play at this game.

"well, I thought you might be more notorious than this," I said as he looked at me sharply.

"believe me, princess, I was controlling myself as I don't want to give me to you for the first time we met," he said as he released me from his hold and went to the wall to lean on. I got up from the table as I was massaging my wrists. Man, this man's grip can kill.

"so, what do you want from me?" I asked as I looked at him. He was standing still as his eyes were never moving from my face. Silent. Absolute silent.

"Hello? Are you there?" I asked as I was standing in front of him. He moved his head to the side to avoid my sight. Oh, you just did not…

"Hello? Can we just have a decent conversation with each other for one second?" I said as I put my hands on my hips as I looked at him. He sighed before he looked at me darkly.

"there's nothing that you can give me. I don't even like you," he said as he was making his bored face. I scoffed at his confession.

"then why agree to marry me then?" I asked as I arched my eyebrow at him. He looked at the side again. I just remember that my hair was black like my sister. And we had the same eye color. wait, is that mean…

"do you like my sister?" I asked him, catching him off guard with my question.

"what? Why do you think like that?" He said as he looked at me.

"your sister is with my cousin. I could never take her away from him," he said as he was leaning onto the wall even more. I arched my eyebrow at him. I smiled wickedly as I formed a plan inside my head.

"I can help you have her but you also have to help me," I said as I looked at him. He looked at me a little bit surprised as I just said I have the code to the nuclear power.

"You think you could break them? You saw the love inside their eyes. It was unbreakable," he said as he was looking into my eyes again. good, this was a good sign.

"I can and I will make her fall for you, head over heels," I said as I looked at him.

"how? You don't even know anything about love," he said as he was now putting his hands on his hips. I looked at my nails as I was waiting for him to finish.

"finished?" I asked him lazily.

"why you're so eager to help?" He asked as he looked at me. I smiled at him.

"Just tell me something, why you like my sister and why you accept my proposal then?" I asked as I was taking a seat at the table, crossing my legs as I knew it would never affect him. He was in love with another woman.

"she was the perfect wife and daughter. I can see that she was the perfect match for me. Your father never mad at her and she was good, helping people in need," he said as his eyes were dreamy. I can feel that my heart was aching as people view my sister like that. I don't know what people of this country view me as.

"the next question, why you accept the proposal?" I asked as I looked at him. He came to an end of his dreaming about my sister before looking at me with such hatred.

"I have to accept the proposal or I might lose my inheritance," he said darkly. I arched my eyebrow at him

"so, I was just a pawn for you to get your inheritance?" I asked for clarity.

"yes, my grandfather made it in his will that if I don't get married by 25, I will lose it all," he said as I can see that he was clutching his knuckles until it turned white.

"and that will be?" I asked. He sighed.

"this year, one month from now," he said as he looked at me. I stood up from my seating and walked to him.

"don't you worry, Kai. We will have my sister in your arms before the end of the contract," I said cheerfully as I patted his shoulder.

"wait, but what you will get in return?" He asked as I walked out of the room. I turned around to look at him.

"I will have my fun," I said as I walked out the room to devise my plan already.
