1 A normal day.

Whomever you may be, I hope you enjoy this book. (Criticism and suggestions are welcome, enjoy).

I woke up to the sounds of birds chirping, and my best friend singing terribly in his room.

With an annoyed groan I reluctantly sat up on my bed and looked at my phone.

[7:23am]

I was angry, but mostly just tired, 'it's my day off, am I not allowed to sleep in..?' I thought while standing up.

I opened my door and walked across our apartment to his room, knocked on his door while saying "dude, I'm trying to sleep here, could you keep it down?"

Tom opened his door while turning down the volume on his phone and replied with "I thought you were awake man, I'm sorry, I'll keep it down."

His name is Tom, we've been best friends since we were in diapers, we grew up together and when we were younger, it was near impossible to separate us, we might as well have been brothers.

Tom was of average height, had light hazelnut brown hair with the most strikingly green eyes in the world, he was quite pale too, making him look a little strange at first, he was also slightly overweight.

But his best trait was by far his kind and friendly attitude, he would make friends like a barista brews coffee, and by that I mean non stop all day, because of that I usually called him 'Angel boy'.

On the opposite side to Tom was me, Drake, my mom was Swedish and she decided to name me 'Dragon', I loved her, but her naming sense was terrible, at least it's normal enough that people don't really question me on it.

Anyway, I'm very tall, tall enough that almost everyone looked short when compared to me, I was also in pretty good shape, and I was also not unattractive, but by no means was I turning heads, if I could use one word to sum up my appearance, it would be 'average', my dark brown hair didn't help, however I did have one trait that set me apart from everyone else, my bright red eyes that almost looked to be glowing, they had garnered me the attention of quite a few women over the years purely because of how they demanded your undivided attention, due to that, Tom sometimes called me 'Dragon boy', it's not very creative and kind of a mouthful, but we gave each other those nicknames when we were kids and they caught on.

Anyway, back to the story.

"It's fine, I was probably gonna wake up soon anyway, I'll get started on breakfast, pancakes ok?" My mom passed away a few years ago and I still miss her sometimes, but before she died, she managed to teach me how to cook, she was a world famous chef who was known for her amazing desserts and her breakfasts that were to die for, and she taught me everything that she knew.

While I wasn't as good as her, which was mostly due to my lack of experience, rather that a lack of understanding.

"Sweet, I love your pancakes!" Tom cried out, he almost hugged me when I said that, but he stopped himself, I had made it painfully clear to him in the past that I'm not the "hugging" type.

"Ok, start setting the table then", as i began moving towards the kitchen and started preparing the ingredients, I noticed Tom not moving from his doorway.

"Tom, can you set the table please?" As I said that, he began to slightly sweat, still unmoving. "Tom, what's going on?" I tried moving around him, but he blocked me "Tom, what's in your room?" I said, at this point I was getting worried and slightly angry, that the man I have considered my brother, was hiding something from me, but as soon as I was going to speak again, I heard a soft moan and a woman's voice groggily say "Tommy, who's there?"

I bursted out laughing, while Tom's cheeks turned a bright pink as I blurted out "so 'Tommy' are you gonna introduce me?" I was still just barely able to hold back the laughter.

but I stopped laughing as soon as she walked out, I was stunned at how beautiful she was.

She had long blonde hair that looked as if curled to perfection, her eyes were amazingly brown, and even under those baggy pyjamas that were obviously borrowed from Tom, it was plain to see that she had a body that matched her face.

I looked at Tom and then back at her a few times in shock, "how did you manage to pull someone as attractive as her, Tom!?" He looked almost offended when I said that, but underneath there was a hint of pride "what do you mean!? Are you saying that I'm too ugly to have people think I'm attractive!?" I began laughing even harder than before, and I was soon joined by the two of them, after a minute or two of laughing, we calmed down.

Wiping a tear from my eye, I said "we need to celebrate Angel boy finally getting his cherry popped!" The woman's face turned slightly red when I said that, "alright looks like I'll need to make a few more pancakes and whatever else Tom wants".

A little while later, we were sat down eating at our table and making pleasent conversation, an hour passed and by now we had moved to the couch, "oh my god, I totally forgot to ask your name" I blurted out "oh, my name's Cassandra, but everyone calls me Cass!" She replied eagerly.

"It's nice to have formally met you Cass, my name is Drake" I replied awkwardly.

Time passed, as we played videogames for a while before Cass left "well, I had fun 'Tommy' but I think I'm gonna go take a nap, see ya!"

"See ya later".

Just before taking my nap, I checked my phone to see the time.

[5:47pm]

'Damn, it's way later than I thought it was, guess time does fly when you're having fun' and with these thoughts, I fell asleep, though in my dreams, one object kept appearing, a single red scale...
