Trouble

A once green forest was now covered in snow. The ground was covered by a white blanket. The forest was pure and untouched. The sound of flowing water could be heard through the calm adding some ambience to the entire scene. There was nary a sign of life from mouse to beast nothing was to be seen in the depths of this forest. Most animals were already in hibernation and spring was still ways off.

A thunder like sound could be heard far in the distance. This was not something one would expect in the tranquil environment in the forest. The sound was getting closer and closer. In this cold a pair of heads pushed away the snow from the bark of one of the trees. Some squirrels had had their sleep interrupted by all the commotion.

The ground begun to shake. Looking at each other there was confusion on the faces of these small animals. More and more tiny heads emerged looking this way and that wary or some predator but all that accosted their senses was the rumbling that was getting louder by the second.

Snow from one of the trees fell as a result forming a small avalanche that covered a small family which a few seconds later managed to dig themselves out. The entire dray of them was now awake and started running away from the area and they were right to do so.

A few minutes later trees started falling like dominoes as a massive behemoth came crashing through. It had the body of a crocodile, but with protruding teeth like a warthog. Sitting on top of it was a slender young man with a flute. He was blowing on it but no sound could be heard. The crocodile had regular greenish scales with a hue of red that made it seem like its scales were metal in a fire. The crocodile claws were so large that they would crash an adult man into paste. Only from a giants view could it look like a normal crocodile.

The look on the young man's face shifted constantly from anger as a few hundred meters away was another similar looking beast only this one had much redder scales and a two pairs of horns on its head. The two beasts glared at each other. Unrelenting force could be seen in their slit eyes. The red scaled crocodile sucked in a breath of air that was like wind creating a small vortex as all the snow within its vicinity was sucked into its mouth. It looked like it was about to spit something.

The young man blew on his flute and the beast he was sitting on imitated the move. It moved a step forward and opened its mouth to release a roaring sound that was like a shock wave blast. A normal person would have had their head blown up let alone their ear drums. The two shock waves collided releasing a blast of energy that melted the snow within a two hundred meter diameter, creating a small lake between them.

The young man was shocked at the strength of the blast but was otherwise unscathed as were both beasts. The horned crocodiles body started releasing some heat from its body as its scaled started to glow redder and redder. It made its move and started running closer to the other party. The glow had started on its upper back but was quickly moving towards the lower back and to its tail. Seeing this the young man blew his flute again and his beast dug its hind legs deeper into the ground and raised its front legs as if to stand up.

When it was about twenty meters away from them the glowing beast made a small leap and on landing dug it's front feet into the ground and made an about turn. It's scales were now normal red except now its tail was glowing brightly. The tail released a projectile phantom spear that shot towards the young man and his beast.

The crocodile was on two legs now. Its chest could be seen. Unlike a normal crocodile with lighter coloured scales on its chest this one had darker almost pitch black scales. It did not make a move to dodge but received the blow with its chest. The impact was more than it bargained for as a few scales cracked and fell off. The best took a step back. This did not deter its intention however as vicious smile seemed to plant itself on beast's mouth(in as much as it could). After it stabilised itself it lunged at the red scaled crocodile and grabbed its tail and bit at its back with its massive jaws.

The scaled would be impenetrable to normal weapons but the teeth bit right through and shattering sounds could be heard. Crimson fountains were flowing from its back and a loud screech emanated from its mouth. The beast wiggled as it tried to shake the young man and his beast but to no avail, the grip was too firm. The young man ran from where he was sitting along the snout and jumped onto the red scaled crocodiles back. He then blew his flute and then held it with both hands as it transformed into a sword.

The sword itself had an aura that was more terrified than the beast itself. It could feel a suppressive force and tried to break off from the hold but to no avail. The sword was jagged and long about four feet. It beige with corroded spots of what seemed like dried blood. He walked slowly towards the surface between the beats eyes and stabbed.

First Garrison: Interrogation room

John and Minerva were sitting on wooden chairs. There were chains on both his hands and feet that were hooked to the floor. This was more comfortable than the tiny beds earlier. The room was brightly lit. In front of them was a table where a clean shaved dwarf with slicked back hair was sitting.

John's empty backpack was placed on the table and so were his blades. The man before them had a blank look on his. It was impossible to guess what was on his mind. Six of his companions were in the room as well as an unseen presence. The chains on their hands restricted not only Minerva's movements but also the flow of spiritual energy in her body. She felt as powerless as a human child in front of an ogre before the dwarven captains.

Though John was also chained it was more as a formality since they could not feel any spiritual energy within his body. They just assumed that he was a pure swordsman with not talent as an elemental isn't. Without his swords they felt he was powerless.

"If you have questions to ask, we will gladly answer them." Minerva said Languidly. With the way the doctor felt earlier she didn't want to piss off the people in front of them.
