6 Chapter 6: A Library Filled with Secrets part 1

The next day, Arroth woke up earlier than his brother to prepare for their meal. He had a giant basket of vegetables in his arms as he walked through the pavement. The disaster that happened yesterday seemed as if it was only a dream, the streets were already fixed and the houses were already built. He had to agree that the efficiency of the angels is good.

Arroth knew how much his brother sleeps, and how deep he sleeps, but he didn't want to wake him up. He has been thinking of making a carrier for his brother, so he can sleep while they travel. Zaganon was still asleep when he left, and Arroth didn't like waking his cute little dragon brother up.

The day in Xuelian was as lovely as ever, with the vast blue sky hovering above each land. The three floating islands are producing a great amount of yang energy to fill the lush gardens they have in heaven, and the songs of the Seraphs can be heard all over the land. The water was always clear, and the air was nevertheless pure. Arroth wasn't especially fond of yang energy, because he is half-demon, but he had to admit, the Heavens are homely.

Arroth passed by seven cherubs who were giving him a disgusted stare with all three of their heads. The seraphs who were resting stared at him as if he stole something they own. Everyone who came across him was blatantly showing their disgust, but then something magical happened...

By a shabby yet clean-looking house, sat a Throne that was sharpening his blade. He sat at the stairs leading to his door, with eyes looking dead with every strike. He donned a gloomy look on his face, as sparks flew from his blade. In one look, you'd think that he was invested in sharpening his sword, but looking closer, his fingers started to get blisters, cuts, and blood. The guy wasn't paying attention to his sword, but was in deep thought, and sharpening his tool is the only thing that hides it.

When Arroth walked past him, the throne raised his head and looked at him up and down. "Are you Arroth?"

Arroth stopped in his tracks and stared at the boy, brows knitted. "Who's asking?"

The throne placed his sword to his side and walked towards Arroth. He showed Arroth his hand and said. "Zulta Clair. The prince sent me to help you." He looked down at Arroth's arms and noticed the basket of vegetables inside them. "What's that?"

Arroth followed his gaze. "I'm making soup for my brother."

"Vegetable soup?"

"Yes."

".... Are you being hard on yourself, or are you just stupid?" The throne took the basket and threw them into a great distance. "You have to eat meat for breakfast!"

Arroth looked at his beautiful basket diving to a nearby lake, sinking in the water until there was nothing to see. The vegetables floated on the water, but his basket was now deep in water. "Why…"

"Vegetables are a horrible way to start your day." Zulta pulled Arroth into his kitchen. "I'll teach you what a beautiful breakfast should be!" Zulta took out several herbs and spices, three eggs, and a bag of flour, five chicken parts, oil, and a pan. He began to crack the eggs and beat them up, he poured three cups of flour into a bowl, mixed in some spices, and set them aside. He poured oil on the pan, heated it, and prepared his marinated chicken.

After half an hour of waiting, Zulta pushed Arroth to sit on his chair and prepared his fried chicken for him. "This is breakfast."

Arroth felt like Zulta's version of breakfast is too heavy and filled with grease, but as a meat enthusiast himself, Arroth found the tenderness of the chicken to be perfect. "This is good."

"I know."

"Zulta, you might want to get going now." Araya came uninvited to Zulta's home. He sat on the couch and looked up at Zulta. "I asked you to look for them, not to cook for them." Araya glanced towards Arroth and nodded his head. He retained that cold expression on his brows, frosty the point that it lowers the temperature of the whole room.

Zulta's eyes opened wide. "Right! we were supposed to meet up at the library!"

"Indeed, but where are we now?"

"My house."

Araya stood up and walked towards the door. "Let's go then."

The library is located at the second largest floating island of the kingdom, standing about 50 meters tall, and almost 200 meters wide. It was built to store every type of literature made by the Angels and houses all their records that date back one trillion years ago. The oldest book in the library was placed in a glass box, surrounded by ten thrones and cherubs. Besides that, the book was locked by the King's very Qi, locked to prevent anyone from stealing it.

The book was none- other than 'The book of Life'. It holds the record of every living creature in the Continent, as well as what's below it. There were many speculations that the book of life could be used to take out a life, but no one has ever witnessed it, because King Xienein and all the Kings before him have never allowed anyone to open the glass box.

Arroth stood before the massive building, feeling rather small with its toppling size. He and the others walked leisurely to the door, donning a calm expression. When they reached the main door of the library, there was a seraph and a cherub, sitting by the door, waiting.

The two stood up and bowed their heads to Araya. "Your Highness!"

The cherub was named 'Mu Yunda'. He was a very young cherub who works as Araya's servant, holding his belongings for him, as well as defending his young master.

The seraph was called Danaya. She was a healer, but other than the prince, he wasn't allowed to cure anyone.

The two are Araya's people, loyal only to him, and no one else.

"Let's go." Araya waved his hand, and the doors to the library opened.

The group made their way in, while Arroth was left unmoving and speechless by the door. He has no idea why he was with these people, nor does he know why he's going to the library. Araya just made the plans and let them follow, without so much as an explanation.

"Wait.." Arroth said, before running up to the group. "Why are we here?"

Mu Yunda scoffed. He shot an annoyed glare towards Arroth, making the other's brows frown. "No need to ask why. If the prince commands something, we are expected to follow." He continued to mock Arroth's inability to fit in with the group.

"Indeed, the prince's order is absolute!" Danaya added, flashing a warm smile towards Araya. "Although most of his commands are rather odd."

"Ah yes, the banquet was fun," Zulta added oil on the fire.

"The banquet was memorable, I made it that way. " Araya retorted. He turned his head towards Arroth and said. "But this time, I have a reason for bringing you." He walked past multiple shelves, filled with books that glowed a faint golden color. "My father said that the records could help with finding the missing angel, and I was sent to guide Arroth through the library."

Arroth furrowed his brows, remembering the first time he met Dayan in that tavern. He hated what happened to his brother, and swore to kill Dayan the moment he sees him.

Zulta and the other two angels looked back at Arroth and raised their brows. "Then why are 'we' here?"

Araya stood in front of the glass box that held the Book of Life. He touched the glass and proceeded to tap a rhythm into it. "You guys are here to help." The floor began to open and a set of stairs was shown to the group.

The Angels are aware that this staircase existed, but didn't know how they could get inside. The rhythm doesn't work with other angels and only the royal family can open the staircase. Zulta pulled Arroth to his side and whispered in his ears. "I swear this guy is hiding a bunch of weird stuff."

Mu Yunda rapped Zulta's head. "Knock it out, that is none of your business."

Zulta shrugged and pulled Arroth into the staircase.
