15 Who did this?

"F**k my life"

Eli internally lamented as all eyes turned in her direction to stare at the new arrival. The chattering and previous side talks that she could hear all the way from the hallway had sieved and a hush descended over the class.

While she understood her current face was good looking, the reactions seemed overrated at this point. Human beings were adaptive creatures. Even as she gets irritated at the attention, she was already unconsciously getting accustomed to being stared at in the short span of time since her makeover.

With one hand in her pants pocket, Eli adjusted the strap of the backpack hanging over her shoulder with the other and strutted into the classroom like she owned the place radiating composure and stability.

The class looked just as it was depicted in the memory of the previous host's she had received. The sitting arrangement was as commonly seen in most high schools. Save for the fact that the tables had their own inbuilt under-drawer for each student.

The desks were arranged into five rows. On the right side of the classroom, were three large windows which allowed for the room to be naturally lit and well ventilated.

Unlike most high schools, the student lockers were situated inside of their classrooms at the back. This made it easier for students as they did not need to go out to the hallways as commonly seen in most public schools to get their books and supplies for each class.

There was still a good ten minutes before the first period began so there was no teacher on-site and some seats were vacant as those students were yet to arrive. Ignoring the stares, she walked towards her seat by memory.

The previous host's seat was in the middle seat of the middle row. Eli frowned lightly at the seating position. It was not her preferred choice. If she had to be in class. She would rather be seated at the back, preferably at a window seat

As she got closer to her seat, she noticed some oddities. By the side of her desk was a rubbish bin where Eli could see textbooks with her name clearly written on the covers and some belongings she recall belonged to the previous host. They had all been thrown into the bin.

While rubbish was scattered all over her desktop and was also used to fill her desk drawer. The surface of her desk also had words carved in. From the spaces not covered with trash on the desk, she could read words like 'charity case', 'pig', 'cunt' 'orphan freak', 'poor bastard', 'you don't belong here, 'go back to the orphanage' and other derogatory words she would rather not readout.

Eli did not bother with the trash. Hands still in her pockets, she turned to the female student sitting opposite her desk who was currently gawking at her and asked cooly.

"Who did this?"

The student was startled that such a hottie was speaking to her. She looked upwards at Eli in astonishment, while Eli looked downwards at her. She did not think twice before ratting out the class bullies.

"They did it" she announced pointing at a group of four sitting in the back of the class. Eli followed her finger to see a group of older teenagers huddled together evaluating her just as she was doing to them.

"What? Got a problem?" Asked one of the teens defensively. He seemed to be the leader of the group.

Eli combed through the previous host memories and was able to identify the bullies. Leo Foster, Jack Miles, Peter Parker and Harry Griffon. The Usual suspects.

It would be an understatement to say that the previous host experienced school bullying. It was not just this group of four, it was basically the entire class. Most of the class either actively participated in bullying the previous host or watched and did nothing.

There was no innocent party.

Green City High was a teenage jungle that operated based on one social status. It was not a place for the weak or the poor. Scholarship kids fell at the bottom of the food chain. There were at the bottom of the barrel and were frequently harassed here.

It was harder for the previous host due to her meek personality and unkempt look. Apart from being super skinny and lacking any sign of femininity which lead to most confusing her as male, She also sported a short hairdo common among boys.

The trauma she experienced at her previous foster home where her foster dad was a paedophile made her uncomfortable with her femininity. It was why she opted for pants instead of a skirt and also why when everyone confused her for a boy at school, she did not correct them. Her messy hair also served as a shield. With it covering most of her face, very few knew what she looked like under all the hair.

Eli disregarded the teens taunting who she now recognised as Harry Griffon. Harry is simple terms could be described as a 'desperate wannabe' He came from new money and screamed nouveau riche. In his attempt to fit in with those who sat at the top of the school's food chain, he became their henchman and did all the harassing and bullying of students who crossed them on their behalf.

When Eli joined her class at Green city high, she took over the top spot very quickly with her outstanding performance at every exam held. She ranked first in the entire school displacing her predecessors. This made her gain the envy and anger of those students and that marked the start of the bullying.

Eli looked at Harry and his group with bored eyes for a few seconds before looking away. She had barely spent two weeks in this world and every dick and harry thought they could test her. Her mood was sour.

"Are you a new student? You shouldn't sit there." The female student said interrupting her thoughts. Eli pulled out a lollipop from her pocket, unwrapped it and popped it in her mouth. The sweet taste of strawberry burst in her mouth. The sugar calmed her.

Eli enjoyed the taste more before taking the lolly out of her mouth and training her eyes on the female student once more.

"And why is that Jessica?" Eli drawled after her eye landed on the student's name written over her textbook displayed on her desk. Although she spoke softly, her slightly husky voice travelled around the quiet class. There was a hint of a smile on her lips.

The female classmate blushed deeply. Eli's slow, and the lazy way she called her name gave her butterflies. Never had her name been called in such a sensual way before. While she was internally jumping at her luck, other female students present who were secretly listening felt envious of her.

'Why wasn't it them he was speaking to?'.

Jessica blinked shyly before replying."That's because that seat is reserved for the class freak"

Eli cocked an eyebrow at her remark. "Really now?"
