A Father Or An Alpha?

[ARYA]

The luna had made up her mind, and not even the alpha could make her change. She was going to get their daughter back, the only question being, would she like what she saw? However, on the other hand, Ricardo had to make a choice.

He knew if he let Caella go after their daughter, there was a chance Arya would never come home. He knew Arya was her mother's soft spot and that Caella would do anything her daughter wanted her to do, and that was a risk he wasn't willing to take.

So he either had to be a father or an alpha, and right at this moment, he knew what choice he would make.

"Andrew, make sure Luna does not cross the borders. If she does, you're dead," Ricardo said to the chief warrior Andrew. The warrior didn't need to be told why the luna wasn't allowed off the pack lands.

He was just going to do his duty. Besides, it was better to be alive and hated than to be dead and despised. Such were the choices in the moonlight pack, a pack that had grown in peace over the years.

Of course, everyone wondered where the alpha princess had disappeared off to, but none of them ever had the guts to ask their alpha Ricardo what had happened. It would be like questioning his authority, and that never ended well for anyone, really.

"Yes, Alpha," Andrew said, just as he saw the luna walk towards the main exit. How had his job gotten so hard in one day? Then again, since the princess's disappearance, nothing has ever really been the same.

Everyone knew a particular part of their pack was missing, but none of them knew how to make use of that. They all knew she would be turning twenty-five in a year, and that was the most crucial time. If by that time Arya Knight hadn't come home, then their pack would be wolves' food.

Literally.

Moonlight pack sat on one of the most fertile lands in the Russian region, and it was like a heaven on its own, and it never lacked.

There were so many reasons why people wanted a portion of that land, and the moment they had heard that the princess had forsaken home, the neighboring packs had made it their mission to make sure they got a piece of the moonlight pack.

Of course, they would never really attack, but they were wandering around the borders, and they were worse than the rogues.

Unlike rogues who would attack by entering the pack, the other packs just sat there and guarded their borders, almost like additional security, but it was only so because they all wanted a piece of the land.

'How do I go about this, and when did life become so challenging?' Andrew said to himself. He was at the border with the other pack warriors who were on patrol duty.

Usually, the Luna would always be allowed to go out of the pack but with a few wolves accompanying her, but today was not expected. Nothing about what they were seeing was expected, and they all knew that.

Maybe the tides would change, maybe Thor would get a new phase, but why did all that have to happen just when they were about to go home?

"Good afternoon Andrew, open the gates, please," Caella said to the warrior, just like she always did, only this time, Andrew looked at her, wondering whether this was the time he would get his head cut off. Damn, this would be hard.

"I'm sorry, Luna, but the alpha said not to let you through the gates,'' Andrew said, his tone as respectful as it could get, especially with the glares the Luna was giving him.

Caella considered using her lunar command on the poor warrior, but she knew that wouldn't be fair. They Were all working to protect their home, and they had been good at it.

She knew Andrew missed Arya the most, but he couldn't complain about it too. Both of them had reasons to disobey the alpha, but the difference was that if Andrew defied the alpha, he would be dead, dead, and dead.

"Why? What happened" Caella asked. Indeed if Ricardo was to get his Luna trapped inside the home, then there had to be a reason, no?

"We were not given any, luna. Alpha Ricardo just insisted that we don't let you out of the pack," Andrew said before he bowed to the luna.

He knew this was hard on her too, and he knew and could tell that this was about Arya, his best friend. He knew the stubborn princess had to be the reason the luna would so ardently try to go against her mate's commands.

Caella looked around the moonlight pack, and it indeed was beautiful. However, all of this meant nothing if she didn't get her daughter back. All of this was just vanity to her, and she didn't need that.

She would have preferred to live a poor life with Arya wherever she wanted, and that was the only downside of it all. Sighing, Caela walked towards the border, trying to bypass the security systems independently, but the warriors stopped her.

"Let me go!" Caella said when the warriors held her back.

She used her luna command, but it wasn't going to work, especially since the alpha always had more power than the luna. She knew this wouldn't get her anywhere and that no matter how hard she tried, nothing would ever be the same again.

"We can't do that Luna," The warriors struggled against their Luna, trying to hold on for as long as they could, but what use was it anyway? They would never win this fight, and they didn't need anyone to spell it out for them.

However, they had to fight to keep the luan in the pack because if they didn't, they would be paying the price for disobedience, even if they had tried their best to keep the Luna inside.

"Ricardo!" Caella called out frustratedly. She could tell the warriors would not let her leave, and since she didn't want to lose their respect, she walked away angrily and back to the alpha house.

She was determined to find her mate and make him answer her questions because there was just no way she was going to sit and wait for nothing. She was going to do this her way, and hell be damned, she would get to her child in one way or the other.

"What is it my love?"
