11 The Mind Link Created Between Them
"What?" questioned Tashina.
"Why are you guys looking at me like I have grown four extra heads or something?" she crossed her arms around her slender waist which was hidden behind the large shirt she was changed into.
"No way! How is this possible?" Ren exclaimed with his eyes wide open at the discovery.
"The Mind Link has already been created between us" said Xavier out loud in shock.
Ren walked over to him and pushed over to the side of the room so they can talk in little privacy but what he failed to know was that a vampire's ear is very sensitive. Although due to lack of strength, she couldn't concentrate much on the conversation but she heard most of it.
"This can only mean one thing" said Ren gravely.
"She is your mate!"
"How can a vampire be a mate to a werewolf? It's just too surreal"
"Then how do you explain the mindlink? She hasn't even been with you for up to five days and she can already hear your mind. Only mates that their souls are bound to be together can produce a mindlink in such a short time"
A vampire mated to a werewolf? Something that no kingdom has ever heard nor have they dreamt of hearing such.
It is because the mates' souls are merged together when they meet, they can produce a mindlink even without knowing.
So for the vampire princess to be able to read his mind in such a short time, it could only mean one thing. She was his mate and he was hers.
"Mate? What are you guys talking about? Just because I can hear him talking through his mind doesn't mean I am his wife!" she was outraged at the thought of being a mate to someone no to talk of a werebeast.
"It isn't good manners to eavesdrop on other's conversations" Ren gritted out of irritation.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to listen to your conversation when you are standing right in front of me, talking about me" she scoffed and Ren rolled his eyes at her sassiness.
Xavier moved forward and stood in front of her. He took her hand and led her to bed on which he sat with her, holding her hand.
On a normal day, if any male were to hold her hand in such a manner, she wouldn't have wasted time to express her disgust from the action but the way this werewolf held her was too tender to dare invoke the feeling of disgust.
If there was anything she wanted more, it was to hold his hand for as much as she could.
He used his rough hands to smother her soft ones. He appeared to be deep in thought for a moment before he raised his head to lock eyes with her, the blue slowing mixing up with jade-green.
"Tashina, can you do something for me?" his serious deep voice fell heavily on her heart. Although, she hasn't known him for long, this was the first time she had ever seen him so serious.
"Anything" her wavering voice stroke something deep in his heart and he just had to bring his hand up to stroke her red locks as she leaned into his touch.
"I am going to ask you to do two things for me" he whispered and she nodded.
"Firstly, I am going to say something inside my mind and I want you to tell us what you hear"
"Alright" she mumbled.
Xavier closed his eyes and calmed his mind down. 'My name is Xavier' he said inside his head and opened his eyes back to stare at Tashina.
"You said your name is Xavier" she uttered.
Xavier looked at his brother who was now sitting on a chair on the room, clutching his blonde locks, trying to figure out what they are going to do about this situation. He nodded to confirm what she said was correct and Ren slumped even deeper into the chair.
"Now, I want you to try to depict my feelings" Xavier said.
"How do I do that?" she furrowed her eyebrows.
"Just close your eyes and picture me, try to see if you can get any emotion coming out of me"
"Ok" she closed her eyes and pictured Mr. Xavier, she waited for a few moments and her body began to rise up and down with force as different emotions coming from him held her heart with force.
The rampant rise and fall of her chest made Xavier hold her hand tighter to calm her down.
"Just tell me what you feel" he said in a hush tone.
"C-confused...shocked and so much more I can't explain" she breathed out and opened her eyes.
"That's exactly how I feel" Xavier sighed.
Ren who was on the chair facepalmed as the headache brewing behind his head began to increase every dying minute. The concern for the Pack safety and many more were exploding but he was trying his best to subside those feelings and first figure out what to do with this Vampire.
Killing her would be like killing his own cousin and letting her live will mean the suffering of their Pack. Stuck between the horns of dilemma, Ren ran his hand through his hair as he tried to possibly bring out the best solution to this problem.
"What's all this mindlink you are taking? What does it mean? And why can I hear you talk inside your mind?" The series of questions came out unkemptly.
"A mindlink is when two or more werewolves communicate through their minds, it is usually created through a special bond and by spending time frequently together but between mates, it doesn't take much time before the mindlink is created because their souls are already intwined together" Xavier explained very calmly to a confused Tashina.
"So if I can hear your mind and sense how you feel, what does that means and what then are you to me? " The question she asked was left unanswered by both werewolves. She kept on darting her green sockets between them in case any of them would answer.
"Anyone?" she finally asked when she was kept silent.
"Tashina, I think you should be resting now. You are healing, it requires a lot of energy from you" Xavier escaped the question.
"No, I need you to give me an answer" she remained firm on her decision.
"Please don't argue and do as I say"
The princess looked over the other werewolf for help and when he met her eyes, he shrugged and said.
"You heard him, get to bed, kiddo" he waved her away.
Xavier stood up from the bed and looked down at his potential vampire mate with a lot of unexplainable expressions. When she stood up to meet him eye to eye, he used the mindlink to ask for just one thing.
'Please get to sleep' said the Alpha in his head.
She sighed and stomped her feet all the way to the bed and lay down, grudgingly. When Xavier came over to tuck her in, she turned away from him and shut her eyes as tightly as her injured self could afford.
It took not even a few minutes before the systematic rhythm of her breaths were heard all over the room. Xavier felt the tense muscles in him slowly relaxing as he listened to her soft breaths.
He was about to plant a small kiss on her forehead but when he realized they weren't the only one in the room, he composed himself and walked over to his cousin.
He took out a chair and sat close to Ren, who plopped on the chair in the most unfriendly manner. Both brothers appeared to be in deep thoughts before one of them finally broke the silence.
"We must consult Kider Loner" said Ren.
