16 His Longing For a Certain Vampiress

Bang!

Bang! Bang!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Her eyelashes trembled aggressively as she struggled to open her eyes. The ringing tone coming from somewhere inside her head was too painful that she couldn't even move a muscle.

With great strength and resistance, she forced her eyes open and she felt raw pain sipping into her skull. She realized she was on the floor with a lot of broken objects around her too.

As she clutched her bleeding forehead, she sat up and rested her back on the drawer behind her, trying to remember what actually occurred before she passed out.

She remembered that when she woke up, Mr. Xavier wasn't there and that she tried to get a hold of him with the mindlink but after that, everything is blurry.

How did I end up on the floor? She wondered as she pressed her head to lessen the pain.

Bang! Bang!

The constant knocks on the door didn't help her migraine at all so she carefully stood up to answer the door. Unsure of who the intruder was, she took a broken glass from the floor and slowly walked to the booming door.

As her fingers held the cold iced knob, she raised the glass, about to strike whoever dared enter the tower.

The old Chiefs sat on their chairs and all stared at the Alpha whom boredom was drawn all over his face before Chief Keef finally broke the deadly silence.

"Greetings, Great Alpha" Just because he was the alpha's uncle and almost seven centuries older than him, that doesn't mean he wouldn't pay respect to the greatest authority in the Pack.

The other chiefs followed the greeting and the alpha nodded in response.

"May I ask what is the reason for the impromptu meeting?" Xavier asked although he knew too well what they came for.

"If it wasn't for the Pack's safety, I wouldn't have bothered myself about this but we all noticed that you have been away for the past three days, My Alpha, and we were concerned about it"

"Don't include me in that equation, Keef. I never wanted to hold this meeting" Chief Lake grumbled from across Chief Keef.

"Your presence isn't needed, Lake. You are free to leave if you want to" Chief Keef glared.

"Chiefs, that's not the subject matter now. Great Alpha, The Grand Council is worried about your sudden disappearance from the castle. We hope everything is alright?" Chief Jaune pacified the tension.

"Or do you have a secret child that you need to take care of?" Chief Flouren asked amicably, seven pairs of glaring eyes bored his face and he looked away.

"Has there been a problem for the past three days?" The Alpha asked.

"No sir" Chief Fleir answered.

"Did a war break out that I wasn't aware of?" his indifferent stare was comical contrast to the Chiefs' confused expressions.

"Pardon, of course not!" Chief Keef bellowed.

"Then may I ask why you barged into my chamber to discuss about babysitting me when you have better things to do?" a snort came from the direction of Chief Luckard but he masked it with a stern look.

"Dear Alpha, it's Chief Keef who insisted to come and interrogate you about why you don't sleep in the castle anymore. I believe this is just a waste of your time" Chief Lake scoffed.

"I am sorry I am worried about my nephew's abnormal behavior which will undoubtedly affect the Pack too" Chief Keef said, sarcastically.

"Chief Keef has every right to be worried about the Alpha" Chief Fleir added.

"Sorry but I won't be dying soon, Uncle. You can rest assured. It's not time yet for Brother Kenzar to climb the throne" Xavier spat his elder cousin and Chief Keef's son's name sinisterly.

Chief Keef grumbled and looked away.

"We were just worried about you, Xavier but since you assured you are fine, we won't be disturbing you again" Chief Luckard smiled warmly at Xavier.

"I am not done yet speaking!" Chief Keef punched the armrest as his veins popped out of his pale skin.

Suddenly Xavier became restless, his heartbeats increased and his breaths became uneven. He rest his hand on his chest and tried to catch a breath.

This feeling was so sudden, it took his breath away. It shouldn't be his so it undoubtedly had to be for Tashina.

What's wrong with her? Why is she so enraged? The Alpha thought.

"Xavier, are you alright?" Chief Luckard asked in concern.

"I.. I am f-fine..." he stuttered as his whole body started to tremble from her aggravated emotions.

Then he felt a sudden pull in his head and as he tried to connect, it went off like it was never there from the start.

He couldn't feel her again and everything about her was shut off.

'Tashina?! Tashina, answer me!' he tired desperately but couldn't get a signal from her.

The other chiefs were still chatting loudly as the Alpha tried to connect with his Vampire. Chief Kelm's calm but inquisitive gaze fell heavily on Xavier. He watched his move with precision and never failed to take his eyes off him.

"Enough!!" The entire room went in silence when Xavier yelled.

"This meeting is over. All of you, get out now!!" he pointed at the door and the chiefs looked in surprise except Chief Kelm whose stoic gaze was still maintained.

"Are you out of your mind, boy? Who do you think you are talking to in such an insolent manner?" Chief Keef questioned.

"I will be leaving now. Have fun chatting about your usual gibberish!" he stated and left the room.

The Chiefs looked at one another and wondered if their Alpha has finally gone mad. The manner he left the meeting wasn't far from a mentally sick person's behavior. Chief Kelm's lips raised a millimeter as his eyes shined with awareness.

As soon as he left the castle, he quickly took off his clothes and changed into Talon in the blink of an eyes. As he ran to the tower, the key he put in his trousers' pocket fell off and dropped on the snow.

When he reached the tower, he put on his clothes back and was about to open the door when he remembered he locked it before he left so he groaned and put his hand into his pocket to find the key.

He searched all his pockets but couldn't find the darn key. Unable to handle it anymore, he jammed his fist on the door and it burst into pieces, making way for the Alpha to meet his Vampire.

Wasting no time, he ran up the stairs to the room Tashina was in and started banging manically. His concern rose a degree higher when he got no response from inside.

And as he was about to break down this door too. It opened slowly and he wasted not time in stepping in when he saw a bleeding Tashina clutching a shard of glass.

He didn't know whether to scream at her for giving him such a fright or if he should tend to her wounds first.

Without thinking, he drew her close and buried her in a passionate embrace in which she took readily.
