10 A Touch From The Healer's Hand

"Stay behind me and don't move" he warned as she stood in front of her like a wall to block her from the intruder.

The door of the room burst open to reveal Ren, dressed in black suit pants and blue dress shirt with his blonde hair swiped to reveal his sparkling face while his green orbs was blistered with rage and hatred.

The tension in the air rise as the two werewolf brothers stared immensely at each other, neither of them making a move to say anything.

Tashina moved from behind Xavier and her eyes met the devil who was shouting at another guy which she confirmed was Mr. Xavier.

'So he wasn't a devil after all' she thought.

Ren's eyes met the vampire's and the rage inside him exploded.

"Bitch!" he cursed and ran forward.

Xavier, being caught off guard by Ren's voice, wasn't able to dodge when his cousin threw him to the side.

Ren's palm clammed her pale, slender neck and her entire face turned into a pool of blood red, almost the shade of her hair as he strangled the life out of her. She used her nails to try to remove his hands but he didn't budge at all.

If it was when she was perfectly fine, she could have taken Ren down without an ounce of effort but the Vampire princess was badly injured and had little strength in her body so she couldn't defend herself.

Ren's body was thrown to the other side of the room when Xavier stood up with an angry look spilled all over his dazzling features. He quickly ran to Tashina who was on the floor, struggling to breathe.

"Tashina, Tashina, are you okay?" he used his palms to bring her face to his.

"Look into my eyes. Breath in and out, in... out. In... out" and gradually she could breathe properly and he let out a breath of relief.

Xavier drew her close to his chest and stroked her back while constantly kissing her forehead. The alpha had thought he lost the only thing he knew he loved dearly.

Ren who was on the floor, clutching his bleeding head that a shard of glass has gotten into, looked at the way his brother was treating the vampire and was flabbergasted.

He stood up to get close to him and in a second the alpha was in his front with a warning on his face.

"Don't you dare come close to her ever again or else I will do something you won't like at all"

Ren moved back a few steps from the shock which his brother's statement had left and looked up with deep hurt written on his face.

"Do you know who you are talking to? It's Ren, your brother. You pushed me all just because of a vampire whom I am protecting you from? Look at the manner in which you treat and talk to her. What spell has she cast upon you that you would kill your own blood just because I lay a finger on her?!"

Xavier looked down in shame, not knowing what to say to his confused brother because no matter how many times he thinks about it, no sane werewolf will believe that an alpha has fallen in love with a vampire.

"You!" Ren pointed at a shaking Tashina on the floor.

"What did you do to my brother? Who are you and what do you want?"

"I did nothing to your brother!" she spat and heaved heavy breaths.

"He brought me here out of his free will so why are you trying to kill me for what I didn't do? Is it my fault that your brother isn't an asshole as you are!!" her sassy mouth replied.

"You dare open your mouth to speak?" He was stopped by Xavier when he tried to move to her.

"You want to know why I brought her here instead of killing her? You want to know why I need her? Let me show you why" Xavier moved to Tashina and took her hand place on his chest where his heart was beating frantically.

"Tell him what you told me earlier" he murmured as he looked into her eyes and give her a slight nod to do as he said.

Tashina closed her eyes and his heart became visible to her sensitive head. She took deep breaths as though she attempted to calm his heart.

"It's stone, not completely but half way through the heart. It looks like something that stopped suddenly. Like the stone was trying to overcome the heart but.... something held it back"

"Can you detect when it stopped?" she heard Xavier's voice and nodded as a response.

"Around two days ago or so" she pressed her hand deeper into his chest.

"Xa...Xavier. How...how is that possible?" Ren questioned as tears blurred his vision.

"Not here. Outside" Xavier dragged a shaking Ren out of the room.

Tashina finally had the liberty to slump down on a nearby chair and calm her heart, the unexpected attack was taking a toll on her injured body.

She opened the wound on her thigh and it began to close up bit by bit. She was finally starting to heal but still it was much slower than the normal rate she usually heal.

If there was one thing that Werewolves and Vampires had in common, it was that they both had the ability to heal. The former can only heal when they change into their animal form, when the bone formation change, the wounds begin to heal or they can also be healed by their one and only destined mate.

While the latter naturally has the ability to heal but it is after some hours that the wounds begin to close up, although the cooper-bronze metal is deadly to vampires, there is also a slight ray of hope that they can heal from it but that can only be done by one of the strongest vampires.

Tashina stood up and went to the window, she spot the brothers by the bridge having a debated discussion. When she took a look at Xavier, she placed her hand on her heart and closed her eyes.

"Why didn't you tell me?" said Ren in a strangled voice.

"It wouldn't have make a difference" Xavier looked far off the river and put his hands on his pockets.

"I am your Beta but before that we are like brothers, you could have told me-"

"Why? why should I have told you? What would you have done? Find me a puppy to scare off my loneliness or find a miraculous cure to this curse?" Xavier said sarcastically, his blue orbs staring Ren down which made Ren look down in shame.

"Was she the reason?"

"Was she the reason it stopped?" asked Ren as she stood by his brother's side, watching the river underneath them.

"Why else do you think I am weak before her?" Xavier retorted.

"But how on earth is this possible? She is a vampire, she can't be a mate to any werewolf" Ren voiced out.

"I don't know about that. All I know is that when I look her in the eyes, the whole world stops behind and when I get just a sniff of her, this heart right here finally becomes alive in decades. You probably know how it is with Chivia" Xavier sighed.

"This is bad! This is very bad! The pack would never accept this" Ren paced around.

"Calm your horses down. For now, the pack is not to know anything about her, I want her to heal first before I can think of what to do with her"

"Some chiefs are already raising questions as to why you aren't frequently seen in the castle anymore"

"Give some excuses or feed them with money if that is what is required for them to shut their stupid mouth" Xavier ran his hand over his face.

"I can say, you aren't as grumpy as before" Ren snorted and Xavier cracked a smile.

"She makes me smile more. Can you please check her?" asked Xavier.

When the brothers came back into the room, Tashina jolted up and was on high alert. She had expected the blonde devil to leave.

"Sit down, Ms Vampire. I am not going to try to kill you, at least not for now" Tashina narrowed her eyes at this system but sat down nevertheless.

When he walked up towards her, she looked at Mr. Xavier who was casually leaning on the wall, to ask for help but he simply nod. Just that nod was able to calm her down.

"Now, I am going to have to touch so I can examine you, is that okay with you?" Ren asked and looked over to Xavier instead of Tashina to ask for permission.

"I want you to sit back and rest your head. Tell me when you feel any pain" When his cousin gave him the go ahead, he placed his hand on her bandaged stomach.

Ren, wasn't only a Beta but also one of the greatest healer in North-Eastern Pack. He is very advanced in the study of medics and build about more than a hundred medical facilities in the Pack.

"Hm... "

"Are you pureblooded?"

She nodded.

"Your structure is very significant. I have gone through thousands of vampires bodies but I have never come across one like yours. The wounds you got from the metal were supposed to kill you on the spot because you lost a lot of blood. But your wounds are healing faster than any other vampire I have seen. That's pretty impressive" He mumbled and pressed her wound and she grimaced.

"You see, you are supposed to grunt in pain or something more than that but you just winced. I am surprised you can even stand" Ren chuckled and though Tashina was shocked that the blonde devil smiled, she was forced to give him a small smile.

"What does she need?" asked Xavier from the wall.

"Although she is already healing fast, she will need blood to heal much faster and have strength" Xavier nodded and promised to get her some blood later.

"Thank you" Tashina cracked out.

"I didn't do you a favour" Ren growled.

"Look, I know you don't like me. That's pretty obvious. I promise as soon as I am able to travel long distance again, I will return to my kingdom and never come back and I will pay you both back"

"We don't need anything from you. Just get your ass out of here so we can disinfectant this entire tower" spat Ren.

'I can't let her leave' thought Xavier after he heard what she said.

"What? What do you mean you can't let me leave?" Tashina asked.

"What are you talking about?" Ren asked.

"You just said you can't let me go. What do you mean by that?" she stood up and stared at him question.

"You heard that?"

"But he never spoke" Ren said as he furrowed his eyebrows.

"Yes I did"

"I never said that out loud, it was in my mind and if you are able to hear my thoughts...." Xavier locked eyes with Ren and they both stared at each other, trying to figure out who indeed this vampire is.
