In a forest stand a giant silver wolf and a person in black cloak with a long scythe.

The human was an ant in front of the wolf yet somehow that ant was doing better than the wolf.

The giant yellow eyes stared at its opponent carefully like it was scared of the ant in front of it.

Despite being scared it still has its pride, the wolf howled and jumped at him.

Just as you expect it to fall down, it got stuck in mid air.

Strings wrapped around its legs, body, head, and tail using support from the tree around, the wolf was stuck with no way to get out.

The person walked in front of the wolf and waved his hand, the string lowered the wolf down to the same height as the person.

He released the strings and looks at the wolf.

"Never come back here again or I'll have wolf meat for dinner"

Tears seemed to flow down it eyes as it ran out as quick as possible.

Yuuto retracted his strings.

'I wonder why I spared that wolf, if I was my old self then I would of killed it before even if it didn't do anything on it own will'

He didn't kill that wolf because it was innocent. It was someone scheme to use the wolf to attack the village.

The person threatened the wolf with its children so of course it couldn't decline.

How did he know this? Some rumor with some investigation and torture. You don't need to know the details.

A week had passed since the merchant mission.

During the week, Yuuto took many missions, mostly exterminating monsters because it was fastest and least boring out of all the missions to do.

For others, they would think the opposite and that Yuuto is a lunatic.

He was now considered an A rank Hunter, the second highest rank. His reputation was already quite high, the people's gave him the nickname of "The Reaper" due to him using a scythe, wearing black cloak, and most of his mission is about killing a monster.

Just as he was about to take another mission of exterminating a monster, an interesting mission caught his eyes.

It was still about killing a monster but the monster this time is a dragon, more specifically a water dragon.

The mission should be a S rank, but they probably needed more backup so they placed the minimum requirement as an A rank.

Of course, no A rank was crazy enough to waste their life except Yuuto.

Because this mission was made for him.

A water dragon? A single attack can cause a tsunami? Pfft, so what? Yuuto has the ability to control water so all attacks are useless against him.

Well it might have another attack that doesn't use water, like using it paw to attack.

Yuuto grabbed the mission and went to the receptionist.

People start muttering among their table.

"Isn't that The Reaper?"

"Yea, he just grabbed the hardest mission available"

"Is he brave or just brain dead?"

"But I heard he has a 100% success rate, so he might be able to do it"

"Are you dumb!? How can you compare the mission of killing Earth Dragon to Water Dragon? They are on two different levels"

"The Earth Dragon doesn't even look like a dragon, people call it that because they're scared of it, but this water dragon is 10x bigger and it is an actual dragon not some giant cockroach!

Yuuto ignored all the talking and headed to the inn.

While in heaven, a person kneeled in front of the 'old man'.

The person took out a scroll and unwind it.

"An ominous energy has appeared in the east, it's suspected to be a portal. This mean someone/something is trying to invade our land"

The 'old man' ruffled his long beard as he started thinking.

"Looks like the plan has to act sooner than expected. Tell the council that, war is coming"

The person looked shocked for a moment.

"Yes sir!"

The person then left the room, the 'old man' looks at Yuuto who was on a screen.

"Let see if you have what it take to be our hope"

The night passed quietly.

Yuuto woke up early to meet the client. He arrived at a big church yet empty.

He opened the door to find six other people looking at him.

Yuuto knew who these people were, it was the five other people who took the mission and of course their all S ranked.

The sixth person was most likely the client.

"Tch, took you long enough brat"

Yuuto looked over at where the voice came from. Red hair, check, red eyes, check, fierce temper, check, and…, gauntlet, check.

That should be, Tahara Takeshi, became an S rank a year ago. From the information that I could find, he should have a gauntlet teigu that control Earth (like the ground, cement, not grass/tree)

Naturally, Yuuto did some research to who he's going to work with

"Hahaaha, it my fault that I didn't put the time on the mission" the client said while scratching the back of his head

"But he should know to come here early" a person with glasses said as he raised it up.

Sone Shinji, has glasses that allow him to see the future by 10 seconds a head.

Of course, a teigu like that would be too overpowered without a weakness. After using it, the user will be blind for the next 10 seconds and there's also a cool down.

'How early is early? It 7 AM right now'

Yuuto glanced around the room, he saw a girl standing in the dark staring at him. She looks away as he found her.

Yuuki Asuna, also known as the "Lightning Goddess". Her teigu has nothing to do with controlling lightning, she got the nickname due to her quickness in the battlefield. Her rapier is light as feather and harder than diamond allowing her to kill 10 enemies in a second.

Also the goddess part of the nickname is due to her beauty, silky white skin, long orange-brownish chestnut hair and clear hazel eyes. She wore a white and red uniform

As for the other two, not much is known about them but one thing all the S ranked have in common is their weird personality.

I think Yuuto will fit in perfectly.

This is my 1st time making this many new characters. So I'm sorry if I suck at doing it, I also used a Japanese name generator so have no idea what the name means. If it is offensive or something, then blame the generator.
