Trust

Angel grabbed Finn's shoulders "THIS IS YOUR HOUSE?!"

Finn winced at how loud she was "yes, could you be any louder? Jeez."

He stepped quietly up the path and motioned for her to follow, Angel started feeling nervous as they made their way inside the house. It was all too quiet, eager to distract herself, Angel started up a conversation

"so...you live here?"

Finn spared her a slightly confused glance before he looked around once more. "Yes," he said

Angel coughed and tried again, "do you live with your parents?" She asked

there was silence for a minute. "I'm an orphan," Finn said awkwardly, Angel could tell he was trying not to let it bother him but it clearly did.

She knew nothing she said would make him feel better, so taking a risk, she reached out her hand and slipped it into his open one. Finn looked at her in surprise but she looked straight ahead with a slight smile on her lips. Finn gestured for her to follow him into the kitchen, Angel stopped and crossed her arms "nope, not gonna happen, not until you tell me what's going on."

Finn sighed "ok, I had a feeling that we were being watched at the café".

Angel looked at him, unimpressed, "that's all? You just had a feeling and decided to drag me all the way here because of it? I'm leaving" she turned to go, but Finn grabbed her arm. "No Angel, it was more than that, it felt so strong and I was so certain, you have to believe me"

Angel snatched her arm away "why? I barely know you, is this some sort of sick joke? asking me on a coffee date and then making up excuses just to get me to come to your house?!"

Finn grimaced and took a step forward.

"Angel you have to understand, I would never do something like that, I'm sure we really were being watched ok? I just know it. Please trust me."

Angel looked into his eyes, and for a second her expression softened, but then she turned away. "I wish I didn't trust you." She grabbed her bag and walked quickly towards the door, she was close to the door when Finn called out "Angel, don't open that door, please"

She half-turned "why?"

He looked extremely worried "because, I feel it again, we're definitely being watched this time for sure, something just feels wrong".

Angel rolled her eyes, but then as she turned back again she saw the doorknob twist, she looked back at Finn with confusion.

He waved his arms and pointed for her to get away from the door, she looked back at the doorknob, then she felt it. A cold sensation down her whole body, everything was screaming at her to get away from the door as quick as she possibly could.

Taking her chances, Angel raced back to Finn, she leaned close to his ear and whispered "I don't know what the hell is going on but it better not be a trick."

Finn shook his head, but smirked at her "so you get what I meant?"

she glared at him "shut up." She said

And with that Finn lead Angel up to the second story of the house, he pulled down a hanging rope to reveal some stairs. Angel coughed as dust fell around them "you want me to go up there?"

Finn said something, but Angel didn't hear it over the noise of the front door opening. Without another word, she started climbing up the ladder.

Once Finn had closed the door they sat up there awkwardly, Angel winced as her leg started cramping "what now?"

Finn shushed her "they're here."

Angel looked around "who?"

Finn didn't answer, instead, he moved towards the window and started unlatching it. Angel tried to shake his shoulder "Finn?" But he would not listen, he was in some sort of trance, his eyes glazed over and he smiled "just follow me..."

Angel frowned "follow you where?"

He laughed and lunged towards her, Angel tried to get away but he had gotten stronger, she couldn't escape.

Then the ladder unfolded, she heard it, Finn was right, they were here. She didn't know who but they didn't seem friendly. Finn dragged her slowly towards the window, Angel struggled and squirmed against his grip "LET ME GO!" she shouted. The noises from the ladder got louder and Angel saw someone's claw-like hand reach up and grab the top ladder rung.

That moment of distraction gave Finn enough time to drag her to the window edge, before Angel could scream, before she could cry out, they were falling.

Falling towards the ground.
