Coffee Date

Smiling, Angel checked the braid in her hair for the last time. Finn had come up to her before class and explained he was nervous the other day and that's why he was acting strangely and he would really appreciate it if she did go on a coffee date with him.

She hummed quietly to herself as she finished making her bed, then she gasped and doubled over, a stabbing pain spread along her stomach. Making her cry out, then as quickly as it started it was gone, Angel was dizzy "what the hell was that?" she said.

The cafe was just in sight, Angel was still feeling slightly sick, but she had taken some pain relievers in the hope that it wouldn't affect her date.

Finn jiggled his leg up and down, he glanced at his watch for the third time in two minutes. He was sitting in a beautiful cafe that had lights strung from the ceiling and a big outdoor garden with wooden chairs and tables. He could feel himself getting agitated, Angel was only a couple of minutes late but to Finn, it felt like a lifetime.

Angel looked at the cafe she had asked Finn to meet her at, she was relieved when she saw him sitting in the back by the blossom tree.

She put on her nicest smile and walked through the door, Finn was stunned for a moment when he stood up to greet her, his pale pink hoodie and faded jeans paled in comparison to her outfit.

But more than that was her hair, when he saw her most of the time her hair was up or tucked away, but when he saw the silver strands were entwined with ribbon, it sparked an ancient feeling inside of him, one he could not identify.

Angel looked at his blank face and wide eyes "Um Finn, is there something wrong?" she asked nervously.

Finn blinked and cleared his throat "uh, no no um you just look amazing" he said sheepishly. Angel blushed, "uh thank you, you look amazing too." She smiled, still blushing when they sat down to order.

As she sat down, Finn sighed and his face got serious "I actually didn't ask you to come here for a date, I wanted to discuss something that's worrying me."

Angel leaned closer "What's wrong?"

Finn lowered his voice "you promise to take me seriously?"

Angel nodded "of course"

Then Finn leaned even closer "okay, so yesterday I was on my motorbike and I saw this girl, she was bleeding really badly from the neck and everything and I didn't know what to do, turns out I blacked out and the next thing I know I'm in the hospital, but I'm fine so I leave. But then I have to talk to this cop and he starts trying to hint that I did something to that poor girl, and then next thing I know, I'm walking out of the police station and he is waving goodbye to me with a smile on his face".

Angel tapped her knee in thought "that really is strange, I don't know what to make of that situation, but Finn, why are you telling me this?"

Finn relaxed back into the chair, but his shoulders were still hunched and his expression was drawn "I had no one else to tell Angel, and I feel like I'm being watched everywhere I go."

Suddenly Finn froze, he felt a cold sensation shudder down his spine, "Angel." he whispered, his voice was dangerously quiet in the loud cafe.

"Yeah?" She was focused on his eyes, which had the look of a startled animal.

"Angel we need to go. NOW." he straightened up slightly, ready to run.

Angel tilted her head at the tone in his voice "Finn, what's going on? Are you ok?" She questioned him. Finn shook his head "Angel I can't explain, but we need to leave here now, please just listen to me".

Angel looked into his eyes once more, for some reason every bone in her body was compelling her to trust this boy, but she barely knew him? They had only met a couple of days ago, so why did she want to trust him so badly?

'𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦'.

It was quiet, but in Angel's head the voice was so loud, what did that mean? Not the first time?

She had no time to ponder over what it meant because Finn was grabbing her hand and running down the street. They had run quite a long way when Angel stopped to catch her breath, "Finn, where are we going?" she huffed out.

Finn looked around anxiously "hmm, it's not far, come with me."

Angel yanked her hand out of his grasp and crossed her arms "no, not until you tell me what the hell is going on."

Finn sighed "we do not have time for this, I will explain when we get to a safer location"

He grabbed her hand again and laid his over top of it, then he stared at her with a pleading look in his eyes "please just trust me, Angel."

She sighed and rolled her eyes "ok fine, but you better explain when we get to...wherever you're taking me."
