16 The Raven Is Watching

"Look at my eyes, maid," Ignis said as their eyes met. Ignis had the eyes of the vermillion, his natural magic affinity to fire. It had two uses. First, he could use it to threaten someone and make them cower before him. Second, he could use it whenever he desired someone. His eyes could set the passion between him and his desired one.

Truthfully, Ignis never used the second trait because he never thought that it was necessary. He never liked anyone after all.

But it was worth the try, right? Other than her strangely commanding tone and indifference, this maid looked like a weak girl who could easily be influenced.

'Well, let's see if this insolent maid has anything to say after she saw my vermillion eyes,' Ignis thought. He blinked once, and his eyes reflected thousands of wonderful sparks that would burn the passion inside Anna's body… supposedly.

Ignis was sure that Anna would finally obey him, just like the rest of the people were.

Anna stared at the thousands of sparks in Ignis' eyes, then she reacted with, "Your Highness, I think there is something wrong with your eyes. You should get it checked first."

"Wha—You can't see it?!" Ignis' concentration was broken with that indifferent comment from Anna. He thought Anna would yield, but she was still as indifferent as before.

"I did see sparks, Your Highness. That is why I wonder if something happened with your magic, you should get it checked…"

Ignis gawked at his finding. He was both confused and pleasantly surprised, "And you are not affected by the sparks?"

"Affected? By what?" Anna frowned. She didn't have time to cater with Prince Ignis any longer, knowing the chance of her getting fired was already high enough, "Please release me, Your Highness. Do you want me to suffer from monetary problem even more?"

Ignis stared at Anna, who struggled weakly. This girl had a frail physique, he knew that, but nobody should be immune to his vermillion eyes… unless…

'No, no way. No way that prophecy is correct! That prophecy is just nonsense spouted by a madman!'

Prince Ignis shook his head and glared at Anna with a bit of hostility, "Ah, whatever!"

Prince Ignis leaned to kiss Anna's pink lips. Anna stared blankly when Prince Ignis' face was getting closer, and she could feel his breath. She instinctively covered her lips with her palm, but before Prince Ignis' lips could even touch her hand, a gust of dark wind suddenly came out of nowhere and hit Prince Ignis.

"Argh!" Prince Ignis was unprepared when a gust of dark wind suddenly pushed him until his back hit the nearest table.

Meanwhile, Anna fell after Prince Ignis got pushed away, but before her back hit the ground, a gentle wind caressed her back like an air cushion, and she landed on the ground without injury.

"Y—Your Highness, are you okay?!" everyone gasped when Prince Ignis crashed on a table. The butlers and guards tried to help Ignis. But Prince Ignis brushed their hands away and glared at the tower when Corvus had been locked up for ten years.

'This kind of dark gust…'

'No… that cannot be. That guy should not be able to control this kind of overwhelming power, and he shouldn't be able to leave that tower, knowing the holy seal placed on top of the tower.'

For a moment, Ignis thought that bastard was attacking him for no reason, but knowing the amount of powerful holy seal placed around the tower, that guy shouldn't be able to leave the tower.

Anna looked at a raven perched on a tree near the banquet. The friendly raven stared at Anna for a while. Anna sensed something from that raven, like telepathy. She could sense the complicated feelings inside the raven.

The feeling of anger, confusion, denial and…

'Mister Raven, are you… jealous?'

The raven suddenly stretched its wing and flew away hurriedly. In a matter of second, the previously cheery and bright banquet turned horror when a dark cloud swirled on top of the banquet, and a gust of dark wind swept away everything like a hurricane.

"Ahhh! Help me!"

"Whaaa!" The nobles all cowered, and some were thrown to the wall. Many people tried to hold on to a pillar or trees, which could help them standstill. Because the gust got more and more chaotic as time went on.

And it was significantly harder to breathe because the dark wind sucked their breath away slowly.

Queen Seria used her light magic to protect herself and looked at the tower, 'Corvus…'

Anna tried to hold on to a pillar so she didn't get thrown away like others. But when a table was flying towards her, Ignis jumped to Anna's location and punched the table until it broke in half.

"You, are you okay?!" Ignis asked Anna. He punched another chair, flying in their direction.

"Yes, I'm okay!" Anna replied, "But it's hard to breathe, Your Highness!"

Prince Ignis was mildly concerned at Anna. He hugged Anna with one arm, and he looked up at the dark cloud above the palace. Ignis raised his finger up. He concentrated until a small ball of light, similar to sun miniature, hovered on his finger.

He threw the small sun towards the dark cloud. The small sun flew up high, it entered the dark cloud, and then…

Zing!

The dark cloud vanished instantly alongside the gust. The sky was clear once more, but the banquet was ruined. The noble guests were injured, and those noblewomen had their dresses and hair ruined as well.

Prince Ignis glared towards his mother, who was still staring at the tower.

'As expected, something is not right here.'
