Chapter 1: The Beginning

For the past, fifthteen years, I had been living withthis family. I know deep down they weren't my real family but I still love them. I can't remember anything after they took me in.

"Kari! Please come down for breakfast!" A female voice rang.

"Just a minute!" I shouted back as I quickly finish up then grave my uniform jacket and backpack.

Dashing out of my room, down the hall to the stairs then down and striaght into the kitchen.

"Kari-Your going to be late. If you don't pick up the paste." Said a lady with medium size brown hair and eye.

"I know mom. I'm hurrying up as fast as I can." I explained to her as I slide on my jacket then graving a piece of toast that was on the kitchen counter.

"Sister! Your going to make me late." A little boy angered said to me.

I glance over at the little boy. He had a elemantry uniform on, he's hair and eyes werre the same as my mother.

"OKAY Joey, let's get going." I told my little brother as I sling my backpack over my shouders.

"I Love you, Kari and Joey! Have fun at school!" Our mother hugged us excited.

We quickly strolled to the front door about to to opened the door when suddenly I felt a tug on my jacket. I glanced down seen my little brother holding up his hand, I quickly graved his hand. Heading outside, we quickly covered our eyes as the sunlight bright. Which causes my median red hair to brighten up.

"Come on! Sister, I don't want to be late!" My little brother remark.

I giggled as he pulled me trying to get me to hurry faster.

" I'm hurrying, I'm hurrying." I told him as he pulled me along.

We strolled a few blocks before we ended up at his school. I bend down to he's level to make eye count to speak to him.

"Okay Joey, remember that Sarah and I will come pick you after school." I remind him.

"I know, I know. Wait here until for you two to show up. Plus I won't talk to strangers.." He annoying said.

"Good, I love you little brother." I told him as I quickly hug him so he could go inside.

I waited for him to stroll inside before I went on my way. As soon as he did I observed both sides of me to see if Sarah was here. But I couldn't see her for miles.

"Where could she be?" I mummbled to myself.

I started to head out down the street, I started to notice that the streets were clear. I keep pacing forward starting to feeling anxious a bit, like someone is watching me. Then suddenly I heard a females voice shouting out my name.

"Kari!!" A former student with blondie hair waved my down.

"Hmm?" I mumbled to myself.

"Oh! Hey, Sarah!" I waved to her as she rush up to me.

"Sorry-I-I didn't pick you up." She plead as she took deep breaths before speaking again.

"My car wouldn't start up this morning." She revealed.

"That's okay, it's a nice day for us to take a walk" I smiled.

Suddenly I noticed Sarah's face reaction, it change really quick. I glance back to see what she was staring at.

"hm?" I mumbled.

"Who's that?" She speak up.

We saw a tall man, wearing a mask, standing behind a tree. It was like a deep stare into our soul or something. It was creepying me out more and more by the minute.

"I-I don't know" My voice shudered.

Then suddenly I felt someone grave me from behind lefting me up in the air, causing me to freak out bad.

"Ah!" I yelled and kick in the air.

All I heard was laughter afterwards from Sarah and another person. I quickly got out of the persons grip and fall down on my knees, breathing a bit heavy.

"Good one! Cole!" Sarah laught as they both high five each other.

I slowly got up and turned towards them.

"Really!" I yelled as I quickly glared at Cole.

He had shaddy blond hair with black hair highlights and he's eyes were blue.

"Kari- I'm sorry for scaring you.." Cole urge as he gave me a hug. I graved his hangerchif to wipe off my knees.

"let's get going before we're all late." I explained to them.

As we started to head for our school, I slowly stop to gazed behind me to see if that guy was still standing there, but he was gone.

"..."

"Kari!-Come on!" They shouted at me.

I turned back around, quickly running to catch up with Sarah and Cole. When we got to the school, we heard first bell warning.

"Crap-We'll have to head to the office to get a pass."Sarah explained.

We headed to the office to explain our situation to them. The lady at the front deck is always nice and understandable.

"OKAY-Please don't be late again girls and Cole." She explain.

"Yes, Mrs.Elaine." We thank her and headed to our first class.

When we got to class, we could tell that our teacher wasn't even happy with us been late, not even the note help.

"OKAY TAKE YOUR SEATS AND OPEN TO CHAPTER SIX PLEASE!!" The teacher barked at us.
